After World Trade Center's Terror in 2001 and promulgating Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA, 2002) and Security and Accountability For Every Port Act (SAFE Port Act, 2006) in the United States, most of the attention on security of international transportation including marine carrier and facility has focused increasingly. Inspection stations in foreign seaport terminal including Busan, South Korea, have been installed by Container Security Initiative (CSI) and Customs Trade Partnership against Terrorism (C-TPAT). The inspection station, however, may directly and indirectly affect delay of truck turnaround time in the seaport, especially high and severe level of security. This paper was analysed a risk for the additional average delay of truck turnaround time incurring by the inspection station under the all level of security, C-TPAT and CSI. As a result of this risk analysis, the higher weighted inspection time based on raising security level, the less number of trucks to be inspected, which will derive high delay in the inspection station.
A pure zero-one integer program is formulated for determining where to assign the inspection stations in a multi-stage production system. The objective fuction is formulated to minimize the overall inspection costs. One of the major characteristics of this system is that an assigned inspection station is to inspect only the items produced in previous manufacturing stages. Each inspection station can be assigned to any possible inspection stage between two manufacturing stages. Error-free and screening inspection policy is assumed in this system and the defective items found in any inspection station will be reworked at once. The integer programming model presented in this paper has the advantages in the ease of modeling and modifiing as compared with the existing dymanamic programming methods. The solutions of the model can be easily obtained by the commercially available softwares like LINDO and GAMS.
Purpose : This research aims to develop a data-driven inspection policy for radio stations utilizing the KS Q ISO 2859-1 sampling method, addressing potential regulatory relaxations and impending management challenges. Methods : Using radio station inspection big data from the past six years, we established a simulation model to evaluate the current policy. A new inspection sampling policy framework was designed based on the KS Q ISO 2859-1 method. The study compares the performance of the current and proposed inspection systems, offering insights for an improved inspection strategy. Results : This study introduced a simulation model for inspection system based on the KS Q ISO 2859-1 sampling method. Through various experimental designs, key performance indicators such as non-detection rate and sample proportion were derived, providing foundational data for the new inspection policy. Conclusion : Using big data from radio station inspections, we evaluated current inspection systems and quantitatively compared a new system across diverse scenarios. Our simulation model effectively verified the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed framework. For practical implementation, essential factors such as lot size, inspection cycle, and AQL standards need precise definition and consideration. Enhancing radio station inspections requires a policy-driven approach that factors in socio-economic impacts and solicits feedback from industry participants. Future study should also explore various perspectives related to legislative, institutional, and operational aspects of inspection organizations.
An economic model is developed for determining optimal locations of screening inspection stations in a multistage production system. The effect of screening inspection on the production rate is explicitly considered, and a fixed cost for maintaining an inspection station is assumed. The product is allowed to have multiple defects, each of which may be inspected at any inspection station after the defect-generating operation. The problem is formulated as a mixed 0-1 linear program which offers the advantage of versatility in handling various system constraints.
A data error inspection algorithm for wireless digital data communication was developed. Original data converted By wireless digital data error inspection algorithm. Wireless digital data is high possibility to get distortion and lose by noise and barrier on wireless. If the data check damaged and lost at receiver, can't make it clear and can't judge whether this data is right or not. Therefore, by wireless transmission data need the data error inspection algorithm in order to decrease the data distortion and lose and to monitoring the transmission data as real time. This study consists of RF station for wireless transmission, Water Level Meter station for water level measurement and Error inspection algorithm for error check of transmission data. This study is also that investigation and search for error inspection algorithm in order to wireless digital data transmission in condition of the least data's damage and lose. Designed transmitter and receiver with one - chip micro process to protect to swell the volume of circuit. Had designed RF transmitter - receiver station simply by means of ATMEL one - chip micro processing the systems. Used 10mW of the best RF power and 448MHz-449MHz on frequency band which is open to public touse free within the limited power.
This paper considers inspection station location problem for a flexible assembly line that consists of multiple stages. By considering the trade-off between locating an station at an "early" stage and at a "late" stage, we have developed some dominance relations on a graph. Based on the dominance relations, we then present an algorithm that finds an optimal inspection plan and a heuristic approach that finds a near-optimal inspection plan. The effectiveness of these two algorithms is demonstrated by two numerical examples. numerical examples.
In this paper we consider closed flow line systems with samploing inspections. The total number of parts in the system is assumed to be N. The processings carried out of each station do not always meet the requirement of quality. Therefore, upon completion of its processing at each station, a part is inspected to determine whether the processings meet the requirement of quality or not. We assume that inspection are done on a random basis. If a part is found to be defective by an inspection, it is fed back to the apropriate station. Two different cases will be considered in this study : a three-station flow line system with infinite buffers and a two-station flow line system with finite buffers. For each case, we will develop an exact method to obtain the performance measures such as throughput, machinen utilization, average outgoing quality and manufacturing lead time. For the case of the two-station flow line system ith finite buffers, we will also develop an approximation method using a stage-aggregation technique. Then using buffers, we will also develop an approximation method using a stage-aggregation technique. Then using these results, we will try to find an optimal inspection policy which maximizes the expected net profit under a certain cost structure. Although we present the results only for the two or three station flow line system in this paper, the results obtained in this paper can be extended easily to the system which consists of more than two or three stations.
An underwater robotic system has been developed and applied to visual inspection of reactor vessel internals. The Korea Electric Power Robot for Visual Test (KeproVt) consists of an underwater robot, a vision processor-based measuring unit, a master control station and a servo control station. The robot guided by the control station with the measuring unit can be controlled to have any motion at any position in the reactor vessel with $\pm$1 cm positioning and $\pm$2 degrees heading accuracies with enough precision to inspect reactor internals. A simple and fast installation process is emphasized in the developed system. The developed robotic system was successfully deployed at the Younggwang Nuclear Unit 1 for the visual inspection of reactor internals.
Near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) was applied for discrimination according to geographical origin (Korea, China) of herb drugs. Herbal medicine has an important role in clinical therapy in Asian countries such as Korea and China. The objective of this study is to provide a convenient and accurate method to determinate geographical origin (Korea, China) of herbal medicine for quality control whose quality is generally different according to geographical origin. A rapid, nondestructive and accurate discrimination was achieved by NIRS. Second derivative spectra of herb drugs were subjected to discriminant analysis. Herbal medicine drugs such as Cassia Semen, Ganoderma and Smilacis Rhizoma was discriminated accurately according to geographical origin using PLS regression method.
