윙립 두께 측정용 비접촉식 검사 시스템에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Non-contact Type Inspection System for Wing Rib Thickness Measurement)

  • This paper presents a non-contact inspection system for automatically measuring the thickness of an aircraft wing rip product. In order to conduct the inspection of the wing rib thickness automatically, a non-contact laser displacement sensor, end-effector, and a robot were selected for use. The non-contact type inspection system was evaluated by measuring the measurement deviation of the rotation direction of a C-type yoke end-effector and the transfer direction of a V-slim end-effector. In addition, the non-contact inspection system for wing rib thickness measurements was validated through thickness measurements of a web, flange, and stiffener.

영상기기와 무선통신이 가능한 저전력 구동의 이너탭 검사시스템 개발 (Development of Low Power Driven Inner Tap Inspection System capable of Wireless Communication with Video Equipment)

  • In this paper, we propose a mechanical contact inner tap inspection system that can inspect the defect of the inner tap immediately after inner tap is processed within the machining center. The inspection module has the collet chuck structure, so it can mounted on the main spindle of the machining center during inspection. It was developed with a focus on inspection for tap having 20 mm depth which is primarily fabricated in automotive parts and has a double sided PCB-type control system including sensing function based on Zigbee module, micom and IR sensor for wireless transmission of measured data with low power operation, and also a battery for supplying electric power. The current consumption is 46.8mA in the inspection operation mode and 0.0268mA in the power saving mode for 3.7V of the applied power source, so that 30,000 times or more inspection can be performed with assumed 5 seconds inspection time for one tap. Experiments in test jig system and actual machining center confirm that the proposed inner tap inspection system can be applied to the batch process of simultaneous inspection after tapping in the machining center.

  • After building a ship in a shipyard, there are so many repeated inspection of welding seam defects and painting status before delivering to the ship's owner. An inspection on the bottom part of a ship in commercial service should be done in every two years for the purpose of safety and for the prevention of ship speed deterioration. conventional welding seam inspection systems are rely on the visual inspection by human or the ultrasonic inspection for the selective part of a ship. This paper suggests a remote controlled inspection system for the examination of large ships or steel structures. The proposed system moves in contact with the ship under inspection and have a CCD camera to provide visual-guidance information to a remotely located human worker. Additionally this system utilizes a weld line tracking algorithm for an optimal position control. We verified the effectiveness of the inspection system by experimental data.

이동 로보트의 계단 승월을 위한 계단 크기 인식 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Recognition Method of the Stair Size for the Climbing Mobile Robot)

  • A mobile robot in a nuclear power plant is usually needed to equip the ability of going up and down stairs for a some kind of inspection. For this purpose, it is necessary for the mobile robot to figure out the size of stairs laid on a navigation path to gurantee robot's moving freely. In this paper, to measure the size of stairs existing in front of a mobile robot we designed the stair size recognition unit which can measure the stair's height and width using an ultrasonic sensor and/or a CCD camera. Also to obtain higher reliability of ultrasonic sensing data we proposed the horizontal sensing method. On the assupmtions that the mobile robot generates a trajectory while ascending stairs, we simulated it on a IBM compatible computer. The result showed that the suggested method satisfied our purpose. In a stair size estimation, the detected stair's height error was about .+-.3mm, and width was about .+-.5mm.

  • This paper introduces a robot called the MRINSPECT V (Multifunctional Robotic crawler for Inpipe in-SPECTion V) for the inspection of pipelines with a nominal 8-in inside diameter. Based on the mechanism of the previous model MRINSPECT IV, we developed a new MRINSPECT V by using the differential driving mechanism, so that just simply controlling the speed of each driving units helps the robot to travel effectively inside the pipelines. Furthermore, the robot uses clutches in transmitting driving power to wheels. This clutch mechanism enables MRINSPECT V to select the suitable driving method according to the shape of pipeline. In this paper, the critical points in design and construction of the proposed robot are described with the preliminary results to provide good mobility and increase the efficiency.

  • This paper presents development of ROV-type underwater robot capable of cleaning ship hull in automatic mode. The purpose of developing this robot is for underwater cleaning to secure the safety of divers who inspect and clean the ship hull. The robot consists of the cleaning system with rotating brush mechanism, a car-like driving mechanism, inspection system using video, and overall control system for underwater communication and operation. In this paper, we present overall design process of the cleaning system and operating system and technical contents of the overall control system for the underwater cleaning robot.

CANDU형 원전 칼란드리아 및 내장품 원격 육안검사 기술 개발 (Development of Remote Visual Inspection Technology for CANDU Calandria & Internals)

  • During the period of retubing work for the licensing renewal, the fuel channels, calandria tubes and feeders of CANDU Reactors will be replaced, and calandria visual examination will be performed. This period is a unique opportunity to inspect the inside of the calandria. The visual inspection for the calandria vessel and its internals of Wolsong NPP is scheduled for confirming the calandria integrity. The first visual inspection for the calandria is planned in Pt. Lepreau led by AECL. The visual inspection for Wolsong NPP, led by NETEC(Nuclear Engineering & Technology Institute) of KHNP, will employ 3D laser scanner and 3D CAD Mock-up for the first time in the world, in addition to a conventional video camera. The inspection system is composed of a robot with the 3D laser scanner, a video camera and a hardness meter.

  • This paper proposes the methodology in image processing algorithm that estimates the pose of the pipe crawling robot. The pipe crawling robots are usually equipped with a lighting device and a camera on its head for monitoring and inspection purpose. The proposed methodology is using these devices without introducing the extra sensors and is based on the fact that the position and the intensity of the reflected light varies with the robot posture. The algorithm is divided into two parts, estimating the translation and rotation angle of the camera, followed by the actual pose estimation of the robot. To investigate the performance of the algorithm, the algorithm is applied to a sewage maintenance robot.

  • A Robot vision system with a visual skill so as take information for arbitrary target or object has been applied to auto-inspection and assembling system. It catches the moving target with the manipulator by using the information from the vision system. The robot needs some information where the moving object will place after certain time.
