The purpose of this study is to ascertain pattern design element in traditional palaces among those in the neighboring three nations of East Asia, notably Korea, China and Japan. The basic assumption underlying this study is that these northeastern Asian states have been developed a unique inter-cultural ties over long periods of time in history, culminating in their respective design cultures. Undoubtly the ultimate goal to be pursued, by so doing, has to be inquiry into the identical prototype of Korean pattern design element. In the West, the pattern is appreciated by an aesthetic level, but the East Asian pattern is a symbolic alphabet deeply rooted in religious and folk beliefs. The difference of the respective country comes from the expression style of the pattern the Chinese express the magnificent pattern with various color, the Korean do the moderate pattern with harmonious color with the nature and the Japanese do the stylized pattern with the material color. To sum up similarities and dissimilarities among the design element in traditional palaces of Korea, China, and Japan is as the following : It is to be noticed that the mainly common characteristics of the artistic design are 'naturalism', 'harmonious ideas 'and 'confucianism'. But the representation style of the design element is differed from the country.

In this study, we identified the elements of teachers'expertise for the science gifted in science high school, and examined teacher perceptions of expertise. Through previous studies and expert consultations, 5 categories such as subject knowledge, inquiry teaching, pedagogical knowledge, student guidance and school work were derived. Based on these 5 categories and sub-element, a questionnaire was constructed. Total 284 mathematics and science teachers from 19 science high schools across the country responded to the survey. The desirable level of expertise and current level of responding teachers' own expertise were examined and compared to each other, and group comparisons were accomplished according to teacher career, type of degree and final degree. Some implications are suggested for the professional development for teachers of the science gifted.

As a neighboring country belonged to the same cultural sphere with the Northeast Asia, China is recently emerging as a center of the world's economy. The social transformations caused by the rapid economic growth are bringing changes in the Chinese housing culture and thus, it is considered that the identification of a user's need concerning a new housing space and social and cultural understanding on China are necessary. Accordingly, this research intended to conduct the basic research on the Chinese housing space design by observing the small apartment users in Shanghai area in terms of not only the tangible element of the residential space type but also the intangible elements such as lifestyle, values, behaviors, etc. The research range was limited to the kitchen area at the center of a house as a place where the exchanges among the family members are most frequently occur, and the research was carried out in the following methods. First, the effective user research method for the analysis of the Chinese small apartment kitchen users was studied through the literature investigation. Second, the 6 families of a research target were selected focused on the small apartments in Shanghai, China and the user research was performed using three methods of User observation, Video ethnography, and Contextual inquiry. Third, the research results were analyzed focused on the flow of human traffic in the kitchen area and user's behaviors. What were identified as a result take account of the human traffic movements in the kitchen areas around the sink-counter-cook top, cooking behaviors and meal areas outside of the kitchen. Through this, the need for the effective organization of the sink-counter-cook top, arrangement of meal area, and placement of storage by section for the kitchen space of China were drawn based on the understanding of the cooking process, and it was identified that such results require comprehensive understanding of Chinese housing culture.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop golf wear textile design, produce simulation and samples, and create original designs using geometric patterns. Significance: If modern people's trend to pursue well-being is be associated with healthy and active lifestyle and the design which combines a sport sense into artistic image appears in golf wear, it is a very significant effort to settle the role of sport as a mega trend. Contents: This study examined the general concept of geometric patterns and the situation and characteristics of women's golf wear. Finally, the design and simulation of gold wear textile were proposed. Study Instruments: For theoretical research, articles, books, literatures, and Internet materials published at home and abroad were reviewed and collected. For empirical research, a dot, a stripe(a line), a square, and an oval were selected and simulation was tested visually after the development of textile designs. Finally it was directly produced and golf wear design was developed. Photoshop CS 3 and Wacom intuos 3 were used as a general-purpose program and hardware respectively. DTP printing was used for sample work. Based on research results, geometric patterns range broadly and diversely from prehistoric remains and relics to contemporary art, design, architecture, and fashion. It is a unique formative element with value and attraction as the infinite object of inquiry beyond an area and the times. The combination of geometric patterns with art touch could complement the rigidity of design. It contributed to the perception of important role of art in the design area, namely, the importance of design containing artistry.

In this paper, we analyze the scientific inquiries type on Almanac and Historical Astronomy asked through the Q&A service in Korea Astronomy and Science Institute(KASI) webpage with the aid of scientific inquiries analysis methods. We also study the contents of the questions. Specifically, we have created statistics of questions and inquiries, and have developed categories to analyze the characteristics of questions with regard to their cognitive aspects. Each question is categorized as either of the two elements based on their recognitive aspect: science knowledge or science study. Each element also has sub-categories that help the reader understand the characteristics of the questions. For the analysis, we used the sample consisting of questions collected from April, 2005 to June, 2007. Through this study, we achieved a better understanding of the questions in the area of Almanac and Historical Astronomy asked in the Q&A service. Throughout this study, we find that the need of questions in the area of Almanac and Historical Astronomy are increasing with time, and the overall quality of the questions is getting improved. As we expect that the number of people using our Q&A service will increase and that the questions will get more difficult to answer, development of improved contents is required.

The medical instrument industry which is one of the high value added industry has been neglected on the various system and political support because it has been recognized as an unknown field to the public although it is the very easy-approaching field for the export market that minimize a technological gap between advanced country and Korea. Especially, the product design that is very important element for the efficient medical treatment and the psychological stabilization of patient is a typical field of lack of investment and support by the unconcern and lack of understanding of design. Therefore this research suggests the current problem of design with the general inquiry of internal and external market situation and domestic medical instrument industry and also it has the conclusion of an alternative proposal for the solution with the design development processing of a moving type-image diagnostic equipment. We will emboss the importance of design competitiveness, suggest the model and basic data to the medical instrument company that starts later, and be a role of inspiration for the lasting investible desire with this research.

The specific web site style is the major appliance which can transmit the characteristics of the site in the fastest and the most accurate ways. The realization of the web site style related to the characteristics of the system which the web site represents typically is the very important design element, for the effective construction of the web site. The study of the methods investigation to contrive the reasonable style pattern systems is dedicated on these backgrounds, as one of the methods for the effective planning of the web design. For this purpose, the study has investigated the web design style through the internet and the books. Also, the study has analyzed the style pattern of the web site domestic and overseas. Based on the results of the study, the inquiry of the web design style pattern and the user's mental model has been prepared, surveyed and analyzed accordingly. This study has indicated one of the methods which can be utilized widely in the process of the style determination of general web site design. The efficiency of the study will be valued in the utilization of similar methods of style determination stage in various design areas.

Recently, as a new ICT trend, emerging chatbots are actively introduced in the field of finance. Chatbot conducts services through the interaction of communication with users. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of interaction dialogue type on the efficiency, usability, sensibility and perceived security of financial service chatbot. Based on theoretical considerations, I have divided into closed conversation, open conversation, and mixed conversation type based on the conversation style based on the implementation method of chatbot. Three types of Financial Chatbot prototypes were made and the experiments were conducted after account inquiry, account transfer, Q & A financial task execution. As a result of experimental research analysis, chatbot's interaction dialogue type was found to affect efficiency and usability. Users have shown that the interaction of closed conversations and mixed conversations is an intuitive interface that allows financial services to be easily manipulated without error. This study will be used as a resource to improve the user experience that requires deep understanding of financial chatbot users who should consider both the emotional element of artificial intelligence that provides services through natural conversation and the functional elements that perform financial business can be.

The purpose of this research is to analyze creativity-personality activities given in the high school science textbooks, which developed according to 2009 Revised Science Curriculum, and to examine how goals of new science curriculum were reflected in sceince the textbooks. An analysis shows that the proportion of inquiry is the best high among the types of creativity-personality activities. Also it is organized for a various activities such as reading, writing and debate. As a result of analyzing creativity-personality activities regarding creative thinking and personality element, a variety of creative thinking and personality element was not composed. The creative thinking is primarily divergent thinking, convergent thinking and associative thinking appears in order. In addition, the caring of personality elements is the most, and then honesty, cooperation and responsibility appears in order. Thus, it is necessary to structure a variety of activities for edification of creativity-personality in high school science textbooks. As an analysis of creativity-personality activities regarding elements of the decision-making, the review process do not appear at all, and there are few decision points generally. Therefore, a rational decision making for the sake of edification should be provided with specific decision-making factors.

The perception of pre-service teachers who participated as liaison teachers in the gifted education organization's different operating styles and the differences in the thoughts of these teachers were analyzed in this study. The inquiry survey was performed for 74 liaison teachers who had participated in the observational activities in the university annexed science gifted education center and the dormitory based gifted students education center supported by education of administration in Chungbuk Province. The individual in-depth interview was performed with 7 teachers based on the analyzed data. The perception of pre-service teachers who participated in as liaison teachers in the university annexed science gifted education center and the dormitory based gifted students education center was different from important element of the gifted and qualification of the teacher for gifted education. It was revealed that the differences between the education parts, education schedule and education methods of two the education centers, which were performed during the semester, influenced the perception of pre-service teachers who participated as the liaison teachers. The necessity of the systematic training on the observational skills and class contents were suggested as the essential support system for liaison teachers. The results of the study indicate that the gifted education organizations operating styles, the activities of liaison teachers, and pre-service teacher training program for gifted education emphasizes the long term actual guide experience at the education field for the gifted.
