  • This study was progressed on the freezing behavior of waste water in relation to freeze concentration method useful to waste water treatment system of small and middle size and which can re-use purified water. The object of this experiment is comparing a pollutant contain of the frozen layer and of an aqueous solution by cooling wall temperature, a flow field effect and a initial thickness of frozen layer.

동결농축법을 이용한 염수 및 중금속 수용액의 동결거동에 관한 실험 연구 (An Experimental Study on Freezing Behavior of NaCl and Heavy Metal Aqueous Solution Using Freeze Concentration Method)

  • 동결농축폐수처리의 기술은 열역학적 효율이 높고 에너지 소비량이 작아 중소규모로 적합하며, 용수 재활용과 융해열의 냉열 재이용이 가능한 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 폐수 처리효율이 높은 동결농축폐수처리장치의 개발을 위해 수직원관 형태의 제빙관을 대상으로 염화나트륨수용액을 이용한 기초 실험을 통해 냉각면 온도, 기포 분사 방법에 따른 분리 성능을 확인 후 대표적 중금속인 Pb, Cr 수용액을 대상으로 냉각면 온도, 기포 직접 분사, 과냉각을 방지하기 위한 용질을 포함하지 않은 초기 빙층 두께의 영향에 따른 중금속 분리 성능을 실험 통해 확인하였다. 실험결과 두 수용액에서 모두 냉각면의 온도가 낮을수록 동결층의 성장속도가 빨라지고 용질의 분리효율이 저하되었다. 기포를 분사하는 방법 중에는 환모양의 노즐을 통해 동결계면에 직접 분사하는 방법이 원통벽면을 통해 간접 분사하는 것 보다 분리효율이 높게 나타났으며, 초기 빙층의 두께에 따른 실험에서는 1mm 보다는 5mm의 두께에서 분리효율이 더 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

경사냉각면에 따른 함수정방형내의 동결현상에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on freezing phenomena of water saturated square cavity with inclined cold surface)

  • It was studied the phenomena of transient freezing of an inclined water-saturated enclosure. One side of the test section was cooled and the other sides were insulated. The effects of the initial temperature, the inclination angle on the temperature field and the shape of the ice-water interface were observed. In the beginning of freezing, with increasing the inclination angle the freezing rate was increased and in the stable density layer centered $4^{\circ}C$, the freezing was fast as the convective fluid flow became small. When the initial temperature was above the $4^{\circ}C$, the frozen thickness in the upper part of inclined surface was thinner than that in the lower part, but with time the frozen thickness of upper part was thicker than that of lower part, below the $4^{\circ}C$, the frozen thickness in the upper part was thicker than that of lower part from the begining, and above the $8^{\circ}C$ in the beginning upper part was thinner with concave, but with time thicker the upper part, vanishing concave.

구형용기내 상부면가열에 의한 유동빙의 융해열전달 (Melting Heat Transfer of Liquid Ice in a Rectangular Vessel with Heated Top Wall)

  • Melting characteristics of unrestrained liquid ice in a rectangular vessel with heated top wall were investigated experimentally. The liquid ice, a mixture of ice particles and ethylene-glycol aqueous solution, was adopted as a testing material. During the melting process the liquid ice was drawn by buoyancy to the heated top wall of the rectangular vessel where close-contact melting occured. The melting behavior and melting rate of the liquid ice as well as local/mean heat-transfer coefficient at the heated top wall were observed and measured under a variety of conditions of heat flux and various initial concentration of the aqueous binary solution. It was found that the heat transfer of the heated top wall is remarkably promoted by the close-contact melting, and that the dendritic frozen layer at the lower interface of the liquid ice is formed. Photographic evidence demonstrated that plumes containing solute-rich liquid issued from isolated chimneys within the liquid ice layer where segregation of interstitial channel took place.

  • 본 연구는 용융된 파라핀을 채운 수직원관 내의 상변화물질의 초기온도와 수직원관의 벽면온도를 변화시켰을때 관 내에서 일어나는 열전달현상을 다루었다. 자연대류의 효과는 초기과열된 액상영역 내에서 응고초기 짧은 시간에 걸쳐 일어났고, 그 후 전도열전달이 paraffin 전 영역을 지배하였다. 실험에서 관찰한 응고 형태는 상부표면에서 밀도 증가에 의한 수축공간이 발생하였으며, 그 공간의 크기는 냉각이 진행됨에 따라 증가하였다. 자연대류가 끝나자. 상경계면 상에서 수지상 결정과 mush-zone이 발견되었다. 액상 paraffin의 초기과열은 실험 전반부의 응고질량과 응고두께를 감소시키는 경향을 보였으며, 초기액상과열도와 벽면 과냉도가 큰 경우에 크게 나타났다.

  • The contemporary buildings are becoming super-taller gradually as the industry evolves. Accordingly, winter concrete also became an important element for the year-round construction since shortening of a construction duration became important. Accordingly, this research team once developed a double bubble sheet as concrete cover curing compound during winter. But since there is no proper countermeasure for the exposed reinforcement bars, it is worried that the concrete can be damaged by exposed frozen reinforcement bars at a low temperature during the initial period. Therefore, in this study, it is intended to review the temperature history of the reinforcement bars depending on changes of the covering methods of the exposed reinforcement bars by using bubble sheets.

Von-Kármán 회전 유동 하에서의 물의 결빙 (Freezing of Water in Von-Kármán Swirling Flow)

  • Freezing of water in von-$K{\acute{a}}rm{\acute{a}}n$ swirling flow is considered. The transient behavior of the temperature distribution in both solid and liquid phases and freezing rate are determined. The fluid flow induced by the rotation of solid strongly inhibits the freezing process. The thickness of frozen layer is inversely proportional to the square root of the angular velocity of solid. As the angular velocity or initial liquid temperature becomes larger, the freezing process is more strongly inhibited by the fluid flow. When phase change is present, the transient heat transfer rate is greater than the case with no phase change.

  • In the modern construction industry, since numerous skyscrapers have been built, there have been sought for developing various kinds of methods for shortening a construction period. Therefore, many kinds of studies on some kinds of cold-weather concrete have been conducted actively for the purpose of a year-round construction. Accordingly, this research team once developed a double-layered bubble sheet as a surface-coated curing material for winter. And there have been raised some worries that some initial damages to frozen concrete caused by low temperature of reinforcing bars which are exposed out of the wall areas of a wall-type apartment during winter. Therefore, in this study, it is intended to find out clearly whether it is possible for concrete to be damaged initially or not by analyzing the temperature characteristics of the exposed reinforcing bars of the wall areas under the temperature conditions during winter.

CuO가 코팅된 Cu 분말을 혼합한 Camphene 슬러리의 동결건조에 의한 Cu 다공체 제조 (Fabrication of Porous Cu by Freeze-drying Process of Camphene Slurry with CuO-coated Cu Powders)

  • This study reports a simple way of fabricating the porous Cu with unidirectional pore channels by freeze drying camphene slurry with Cu oxide coated Cu powders. The coated powders were prepared by calcination of ball-milled powder mixture of Cu and Cu-nitrate. Improved dispersion stability of camphene slurry could be achieved using the Cu oxide coated Cu powders instead of pure Cu powders. Pores in the frozen specimen at $-25^{\circ}C$ were generated by sublimation of the camphene during drying in air, and the green bodies were sintered at $750^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in $H_2$ atmosphere. XRD analysis revealed that the coated layer of Cu oxide was completely converted to Cu phase without any reaction phases by hydrogen heat treatment. The porous Cu specimen prepared from pure Cu powders showed partly large pores with unidirectional pore channels, but most of pores were randomly distributed. In contrast, large and aligned parallel pores to the camphene growth direction were clearly observed in the sample using Cu oxide coated Cu powders. Pore formation behavior depending on the initial powders was discussed based on the degree of powder rearrangement and dispersion stability in slurry.
