The damage to farms due to wild animals such as wild boars and elks increases every year, but, in the current system, the catchers from government hunt animals by using guns at night as making an effort to detect wild animals personally by using flashlights. This is very time-inefficient and immediate follow-up action on being damaged is not possible. In this paper, we introduce a system which can detect and recognize the wild animals or the people with high accuracy using thermal imaging camera and infrared camera in company with deep learning technology, so that could kick out or catch the wild animals more quickly than current system.
Infrared radiation (IR) refers to the region of the electromagnetic radiation spectrum where wavelengths range from about 700 nm to 1 mm. Any object with a temperature above absolute zero (0 K) radiates in the infrared region, and a material that transmits radiant energy in the range of 0.74 to 1.4 um is referred to as a near-infrared optical material. Germanate-based glass is attracting attention as a glass material for infrared optical lenses because of its simple manufacturing process. With the recent development of the glass molding press (GMP) process, thermal imaging cameras using oxide-based infrared lenses can be easily mass-produced, expanding their uses. To improve the mechanical and optical properties of commercial materials consisting of ternary systems, germanate-based heavy metal oxide glasses were prepared using a melt-cooling method. The fabricated samples were evaluated for thermal, structural, and optical properties using DSC, XRD, and XRF, respectively. To derive a composition with high glass stability for lens applications, ZnO and Sb2O3 were substituted at 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 mol%. The glass with 1 mol% added Sb2O3 was confirmed to have the optimal conditions, with an optical transmittance of 80 % or more, a glass transition temperature of 660 ℃, a refractive index of 1.810, and a Vickers hardness of 558. The possibility of its application as an alternative infrared lens material to existing commercial materials capable of GMP processing was confirmed.
Near-infrared Imaging Spectrometer for Star formation history (NISS), one of the main payloads of NEXTSat-1, is being developed by Korea Astronomy & Space Science Institute (KASI). Since NISS adopts an infrared reflecting optical system, its performance is highly sensitive to changes in system temperature. Therefore, it is important to figure out the temperature through thermal analysis and cooling tests in order to optimize the optical system design. We conducted thermal analysis of NISS for the recently updated model, and obtained steady state temperature of the optical system for two cases of satellite attitude: about 190 K for the Normal case and about 210 K for the Hot case. In this paper, we present thermal design of NISS and the preliminary thermal analysis results.

A bolometer sensor used in an infrared thermal imaging system has many advantages on the process because it does not need a separate cooling system and its manufacturing is easy. However the sensitivity of the bolometer is low and the fixed pattern noise(FPN) is large, because the bolometer sensor is made by micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS). These problems can be fixed-by using the high performance readout integrated circuit(ROIC) with noise reduction techniques. In this paper, we propose differential delta sampling circuit to remove the mismatch noise of ROIC itself, the FPN of the bolometer. And for reduction of FPN noise, the reference signal compensation circuit which compensate the reference signal by using on-resistance of MOS transistor was proposed.
The Stirling refrigerators have been widely used for the cooling of the infrared detector and HTS to the cryogenic temperature. The Stirling refrigerator with the rotary compressor are applicable to the cooling device for the compact mobile thermal imaging system, because the refrigerators have the compact structure and light weight. The typical performance factors of the Stirling refrigerator are the cool-down time, cooling capacity at the desired temperature and the input power. And the above performance factors are depends on the thermal insulation characteristics of the Dewar. In this study, the steady thermal load of the Dewar and the performance of the Stirling refrigerator were measured. The results show the dependency of the input power and the charging pressure on the performance of the refrigerator.
Surface emissivity and its background values according to each sensor are mandatorily necessary for Mid-Wavelength Infrared (MWIR) remote sensing to retrieve surface temperature and temporal variation. This study presents the methods and results of Land Surface Emissivity (LSE) of the MWIR according to land cover over the Korean Peninsula. The MWIR emissivity was estimated by applying the Temperature Independent Spectral Indices (TISI) method to the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) band 4 Day/Night images ($3.74{\mu}m$ in center wavelength). The obtained values were classified according to land-cover types, and the obtained emissivity was then compared with those calculated from a standard Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) spectral library. The annual means of MWIR emissivity of Deciduous Broadleaf Forest (0.958) and Mixed Forest (0.935) are higher than those of Croplands (0.925) and Natural Vegetation Mosaics (0.935) by about 2-3%. The annual mean of Urban area is the lowest (0.914) with an annual variation of about 2% which is by larger than those (1%) of other land-covers. The TISI and VIIRS based emissivity is slightly lower than the ASTER spectral library by about 2-3% supposedly due to various reasons such as lack of land cover homogeneity. The results will be used to understand the MWIR emissivity properties of the Korean Peninsula and to examine the seasonal and other environmental changes using MWIR images.

The development of a compact and high performance MWIR thermal imaging sensor based on the SOFRADIR 320${\times}$240 element IRCCD detector is described. The sensor has 20 magnification zoom optics with the maximum 40$^{\circ}$${\times}$30$^{\circ}$ of super wide field of view and 7.6 cycles/mrad of resolving power with the operation of attached micro-scanning system. In order to correct nonuniformities of detector arrays, we have proposed a multi-point correction method using defocusing of the optics and we have acquired the highest quality images. The MRTD of our system shows good results below 0.05K at spatial frequency 1 cycles/mrad at narrow field of view. Experimental data and obtained performances are presented and discussed.

In this paper, we designed a coaxial dual camera incorporating two optical systems-one for the visible rays and the other for far-infrared ones-with the aim of capturing images in both wavelength ranges. The far-infrared system, which uses an uncooled detector, has a sensor array of 640×480 pixels. The visible ray system has 1,945×1,097 pixels. The coaxial dual optical system was designed using a hot mirror beam splitter to minimize heat transfer caused by infrared rays in the visible ray optical system. The optimization process revealed that the final version of the dual camera system reached more than 90% of the fusion performance between two separate images from dual systems. Multiple rigorous testing processes confirmed that the coaxial dual camera we designed demonstrates meaningful design efficiency and improved image conformity degree compared to existing dual cameras.

In this paper, the applicability of an UET(ultrasound excited thermography) for a defect detection of the welded receptacle is described. An UET(ultrasound excited thermography) is a defect-selective and fast imaging tool for damage detection. A high power ultrasound-excited vibration energy with pulse durations of 280ms is injected into the outer surface of the welded receptacle made of Al material. An ultrasound vibration energy sent into the welded receptacle propagate inside the sample until they are converted into the heat in the vicinity of the defect. The injection of the ultrasound excited vibration energy results in heat generation so that the defect is turned into a local thermal wave transmitter. Its local heat emission is monitored by the thermal infrared camera. And they are processed by the image recording system. Measurement was performed on aluminum receptacle welded by using Nd:YAG laser. The observed thermal image revealed two area of defects along the welded seam.
