  • Under the influence of information technology, there has been a significant change in the consumers' attitude and behavior toward the cultural products. Especially, the social network service (SNS) is predicted to effectively facilitate the growing interaction among potential consumers, which may lead to consumption of the cultural products. The goal of this study is thus two-fold: (a) to investigate the characteristic features of the digital environments based on SNS, and (b) to examine how these factors result in the purchase of the cultural contents. The survey data identified the digital environments as Informational interaction, Information connectivity, and Informational trust in the SNS environment. Subsequently, the structural equation methods confirmed that these factors facilitate consumers' participation in the information network and promote consumers' emotional attachment to the cultural contents, which eventually lead to the positive attitude toward the purchase of the cultural contents.

  • Previous research on negative contents of verbal message being more influential has a two broad streams as impression formation theory and negative information having an more diagnostic informational value. Therefore, this research was intended to obtain consistent results from researches by message frame segmentation of verbal message and to determine the medium of verbal message. It was proven from the research that objects influencing verbal message are being effected by the participation ratio of products and the positive indication is having more meaningful difference than the negative indication statistically unlike to the results of previous researches. Unlike just a biased positive message or negative message as the result of previous research, it was proven that the positive indication is influential regardless of sequences according to participation ratio and site participation in case of positive and negative being existing together.

  • Public library users' perception of librarians can be an important aspect in improving the public library uses and the quality of informn services. Thus it is necessary to identify what factors affect users' perceptions of librarians. This research empirically investigated users' general perceptions of librarians and the factors affecting them through a survey. As a result, it was found that the use of library collections, library facilities, and participation in club activities through the library affect the formation of a positive perception of librarians. In addition, the roles of the librarian are expanding from informational activities to supporting social activities. In contrast, the factors of direct interaction with the librarian, including participation in public library programs, circulating library collections, and communication with librarian, do not have a significant effect on the formation of the perception of librarian. Thus librarians need to consider library users more substantially and to support them in various ways.

  • The current study aims to examine what determinants have influences on voluntary self-disclosure in the usage of micro-blogging. Even though the usages of micro-blogging have increased at an exponential rate in South Korea, it has been not well understood the process in which people voluntarily disclose their self-information. In this regard, we tried to examine self-disclosure process on micro-blogging based on Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). For this purpose, attitudes towards self-disclosure, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control were set as the antecedents to self-disclosure behavior. The influences of factors including privacy concern, playfulness, informational motivation for social participation, and relational motivation on the attitude were also investigated. The results of an online survey revealed that attitude toward self-disclosure, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control anticipated the self-disclosure behavior at a statistically significant level. The attitude was not influenced by privacy concern, informational and relational motivation, but by playfulness. The implications of these results are also discussed.
