  • Event driven service (EDS) is one of such services administrating different functions of multiple service providers according to the user situation. This paper first describes the service model of EDS, a User-centric Service for multiple service provider environments over the next generation networks. The multiple provider environments stimulates the unified identifier management, namely unified identification (U-ID), to enable users to be provided network services without awareness of multiple providers. Combining these two concepts, i.e., EDS and U-ID, the designed structure of EDS with U-ID and related procedures are given. Finally, the implementation results tested on Korea Advanced Research Network (KOREN) are described.

  • Recently, with the development of biotechnology and molecular genetics, research using human biological materials has been receiving attention, and the demand for the use of human- biological materials has also increased significantly. In particular, human biological materials contain the personal information of the person providing them, so special care must be taken to protect personal information throughout the entire process from drafting the human biological materials research plan, Institutional Review Board (IRB) review, and research progress. In addition, it is important to appropriately utilize residual human biological materials obtained during medical diagnosis and treatment at medical institutions to achieve scientific results, while protecting the rights of human biological materials providers and improving the method of expressing consent so as not to damage the trust of human biological materials providers in researchers. To this end, it is necessary to provide sufficient information and education so that researchers and IRB members can understand and apply related laws such as the Bioethics Act and the Personal Information Protection Act.

  • This study compares and analyzes the legal systems of Korea, the European Union, China, and the United States based on the disclosure principles and processing policies for personal data processing and provides references for seeking improvements in our legal system. Furthermore, this research aims to suggest institutional implications to overcome data transfer limitations in the upcoming digital economy. Findings on a comparative analysis of the relevant legal systems for disclosing privacy policies in four countries showed that Korea's privacy policy is under the eight principles of privacy proposed by the OECD. However, there are limitations in the current situation where personal information is increasingly transferred overseas due to direct international trade e-commerce. On the other hand, the European Union enacted the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in 2016 and emphasized the transfer of personal information under the Privacy Policy. China also showed differences in the inclusion of required items in its privacy policy based on its values and principles regarding transferring personal information and handling sensitive information. The U.S. CPRA amended §1798.135 of the CCPA to add a section on the processing of sensitive information, requiring companies to disclose how they limit the use of sensitive information and limit the use of such data, thereby strengthening the protection of data providers' rights to sensitive information. Thus, we should review our privacy policies to specify detailed standards for the privacy policy items required by data providers in the era of digital economy and digital commerce. In addition, privacy-related organizations and stakeholders should analyze the legal systems and items related to the principles of personal data disclosure and privacy policies in major countries so that personal data providers can be more conveniently and accurately informed about processing their personal information.

  • Archival reference service is the ultimate goal and outcome of records management. It encompasses a whole range of activities to connect records with the demands for them. Intellectual needs for records are met by the procedure of information disclosure to guarantee the people's right to know and to provide active responses to archival information needs. Thus, it is required to establish an efficient search system by unifying search tools for archives used in information disclosure and sorting out the classification systems and description items according to the archive types. The qualitative enhancement of information disclosure can be expected when there is a harmonious circulation of attributes-such as applicants, records, search tools, and information providers-for the smooth implementation of reading processes in the context of archival reference service. Therefore, the present study holds its significance in the following aspects. First, it presented a picture of pending issues and the reality of reading service processes from an internal perspective by examining the factors and characteristics that influence "reading service."Second, it demonstrated the phenomenon of close interactions among information providers, applicant, search tools, and records in the process of requesting, searching, and providing records. Third, it proposed the need for a total integrated search tool around the pending issues of reading processes at the National Archives of Korea. Fourth, it promoted an understanding of archival information utilization at the working level among information providers. Finally, it showed major differences in the quality of information provision of "reading service" according to the "perceptions" and "attitudes" of information providers.

  • This study analyzed the influence of social distance and visual information on consumers' fashion style preferences in terms of information characteristics and providers. Data were collected from 521 females in their twenties and thirties who had experience using SNS. The empirical study results were as follows. First, with other factors of exposure under control, the social distance of information characteristics and providers showed a significant impact on fashion style preferences only when social distances were close. Second, the impact of social distance varied depending on the consumer's characteristics. This proved that innovation had significant negative influences, while conformity and informational sensitivity to others showed positive influences on the effects of social distance in terms of information characteristics. Innovation and fashion leadership also showed a negative influence on the social distance effect in terms of information providers. Third, conformity, informational sensitivity to others, and fashion leadership, proved to have a significant impact on the acceptance of eWOM in fashion styles, but innovativeness and normative sensitivity to others did not have a significant influence. This study can be used as baseline data in SNS marketing strategies for vitalizing information spread through eWOM.

  • Mobile communication technology is advancing forward to deliver more connected devices and richer content and applications. The number of subscriptions continues to grow along with an explosive increase in the mobile data traffic demand. Thereby, it creates a significant network capacity shortage concerns for mobile network operators. In order to address this problem, it is essential to increase the network capacity at a low additional cost. The device-to-device (D2D) communication based proximity service is believed to have a promising future mobile communication technology that is capable to create new mobile service opportunities and offload traffic to the eNB. In addition, it is also required to develop new mobile communication services and its business models not only to accommodate the increasing mobile traffic demand but also to foster profitability of mobile business service providers such as the network providers, contents providers and platform providers. In this article, we first analyze current mobile business eco-system in the context of CPNT based value chain. Then, propose service development framework and business model creation methodologies for the device-to-device communication based services in the beyond LTE/LTE-Advanced systems.

Methods: The data were collected by individual interviews of eleven participants. The transcribed data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis to identify major themes and sub-themes that represented the experiences of families. Results: Five themes and 13 sub-themes emerged. "Captive of patients' delayed death: Fear and anxiety" describes psychological problems arising when the family member became critically ill enough to warrant being admitted to the ICU. "Families as the weak: Suppression and resistance" describes interpersonal difficulties arising due to lack of information and trust with healthcare providers. "Deprivation of authority and duty as families: Helplessness" illustrate situational barriers in attempting to protect and support family member. "Re-establishment of trust relationship with healthcare providers: Gratitude and appreciation" describes how they satisfied with themselves by regaining trust relationship. Lastly, "Acceptance of reality through direct care participation: Relief and peace" illustrates peace of mind by gaining sense of reality through active direct care participation. • To realize the vision of internet of things (IoT), where it is expected to bring significant impact to the global economy in the future, consideration of business models in the IoT context is necessary. This research attempts to build an enhanced artifact business model framework based on the definitions of IoT and literature on business models for analysis of IoT businesses. The framework is used to analyze four different types of players: the owner of things, vendors of devices, providers of connectivity and providers of IoT application services. The findings suggest that the owners of things tend to partner with ICT players to complement their weakness, and it tends to be connectivity providers. The device vendors leverage their strength of devices and device platforms to attract and enable 3rd party sensor/devices to interconnect, while the service providers are aiming to penetrate into customer premise. These lead to the following recommendations for non-IT players to consider in expanding into IoT business: 1) take into account differences in product development process between IT and non-IT businesses in expanding into IoT market; 2) collaborate with ICT players that acknowledge and understand the differences.
