Reliability Growth Modeling in the Vehicles Developement Stage

  • Reliability growth testing used to evaluate reliability in the automobile industry have not always been able to correctly address reliability concerns with increased confidence. The demand to confirm to all product performance requirements under various operating environments has added to the complexity of accurately assessin theproduct's reliability in the required development time. In addition, it is often desired to determine the relationship of a product's reliability to cost, development time, design, manufacturability and assembly. This paper presents the methods for reliability growth modeling to evaluate and interpret reliability concerns to support the reliability analysis of automobile assemblies and systems. This reliability growth modeling process is a mechanism to help "build in" reliability during early phases in the vehicle devleopment stage.

  • In general, weapon systems require very high reliability. Recently Korean defense reliability technologies growth rapidly. However, there are some matters of reform in reliability management, reliability assurance, and defense acquisition environment, etc. In this paper, we propose the reliability development plan for Korean defense system as follows; 1) reliability improvement programs for each acquisition stages, 2) reliability improvement methods for logistics support, 3) reliability improvement programs for developers and manufacturers, 4) reform matters for the defense acquisition law, 6) establishment of defense reliability assessment center and defense reliability committee.

Reliability Prediction of Satellite by Function Analysis (기능분석을 통한 인공위성의 신뢰도 예측)

  • In this study, we propose reliability prediction of a satellite by function analysis. To do so, the intended functions of the satellite are derived from using function structure block diagram, and defined as main, sub, and detailed functions. Furthermore, in order to generate function and reliability structure table, reliability model rule, duty cycle, and types of switch are assigned to the classified functions. This study also establishes reliability block diagram and mathematical reliability models to schematize the relationship among the functions. The reliability of the classified function is estimated by calculating the failure rate of parts comprising them. Finally, we apply the proposed method to a small satellite as a case study. The result shows that the reliability for the detailed function and the sub function as well as the main function could be predicted quantitatively and accurately by the proposed approach.

  • In this paper, We presented the algorithm for estimating a reliability between nodes in wireless communication network such as RBN and MANET To estimate the reliability between nodes, we first modeled RNB and MANET as probability graph. Branches of the graph are always reliable and the probability of node failure is independent. After all possible simple path which can be established between two nodes are examined, we perform sharp arithmetic to remove repetition event between two nodes. Using probability for each variable of the minimized Boolean equation, we present the reliability formula.

  • This paper focuses on how modem data mining can be integrated with real-time relational databases and commercial data warehouses to improve reliability in real-time. An important Issue for many manufacturers is the development of relational databases that link key product attributes with real-time process parameters. Helpful data for key product attributes in manufacturing may be derived from destructive reliability testing. Destructive samples are taken at periodic time intervals during manufacturing, which might create a long time-gap between key product attributes and real-time process data. A case study is briefly summarized for the medium density fiberboard (MDF) industry. MDF is a wood composite that is used extensively by the home building and furniture manufacturing industries around the world. The cost of unacceptable MDF was as large as 5% to 10% of total manufacturing costs. Prevention can result In millions of US dollars saved by using better Information systems.

  • While numerous information services are provided on the Web as a core infrastructure of information society, semantic services using the Semantic Web technologies still stay deployed number and application range. This situation would be mainly originated from the failure of securing reliability to the user. Thus, this paper introduces an evaluation method for measuring reliabilities of the semantic services comparatively. To measure the reliability of the compared systems, the observer assesses 'precision in task performance' as a quantitative analysis and 'reliability of expectation-result' as a qualitative analysis described by the test persons. On the other hand, the test person should rate the functional reliability and reliability of the served information on the vector graph by himself with a scale from 0 to 5. Experimental results show that assessment by the observer is very similar to rating value by test persons, and that the accuracy of the served information has a close effect on the functional reliability. Through this paper, we can verify the essential factors for evaluating the reliability of semantic service systems. These are functional reliability and reliability of served information resulting from function execution. In particular, it has been proven that the reliability of the semantic information services largely influences the "Quality in Use" and therefore determines the major factors of the semantic service reliability.

  • As pass the three revised bills, the Personal Information Protection Act was revised to have a larger application for personal information. For an industrial development through an efficient and secure usage of personal information, there is a need to revise the existing anonymity processing method. This paper modifies the Zero Knowledge Proofs algorithm among the anonymity processing methods to modify the anonymity process calculations by taking into account the reliability of the used service company. More detail, the formula of ZKP (Zero Knowledge Proof) used by ZK-SNAKE is used to modify the personal information for pseudonymization processing. The core function of the proposed algorithm is the addition of user variables and adjustment of the difficulty level according to the reliability of the data user organization and the scope of use. Through Setup_p, the additional variable γ can be selectively applied according to the reliability of the user institution, and the degree of agreement of Witness is adjusted according to the reliability of the institution entered through Prove_p. The difficulty of the verification process is adjusted by considering the reliability of the institution entered through Verify_p. SimProve, a simulator, also refers to the scope of use and the reliability of the input authority. With this suggestion, it is possible to increase reliability and security of anonymity processing and distribution of personal information.

  • This study describes validity and reliability, which are important factors to obtain scientific results in the study of library and information science. Specifically, this paper starts by exploring the definition and types of validity and reliability. It then analyzes the factors which affect to validity and reliability in developing test-items through the previous studies. It is proposed that validity and reliability be regarded as basic and important components to solve problems related to library and information science in the future scientifically.
