According to the expansion of the Internet use and the utilization of e-business, there are an increasing number of studies of intelligent-based systems for the preparation of ubiquitous environment. In addition, expert systems have been developed from Stand Alone types to web-based Client-Server types, which are now used in various Internet environments. In this paper, we investigated the environment of development for web-based expert systems, we classified and analyzed them according to type, and suggested general typical models of web-based expert systems and their architectures. We classified the web-based expert systems with two perspectives. First, we classified them into the Server Oriented model and Client Oriented model based on the Load Balancing aspect between client and server. Second, based on the degree of knowledge and inference-sharing, we classified them into the No Sharing model, Server Sharing model, Client Sharing model and Client-Server Sharing model. By combining them we derived eight types of web-based expert systems. We also analyzed the location problems of Knowledge Bases, Fact Bases, and Inference Engines on the Internet, and analyzed the pros & cons, the technologies, the considerations, and the service types for each model. With the framework proposed from this study, we can develop more efficient expert systems in future environments.
This study aims at empirically analyzing the relation between employees' personality and their knowledge sharing intentions, on which enough light has not yet been shed in spite of its importance. By integrating the big five model of personality with social capital theory and social cognitive theory, this study develops six hypotheses concerning the relation and empirically tests them by using 724 samples collected from employees in practice. The empirical analysis results from this study reveal that employees' extroversion and agreeableness are positively associated with their social relations and that their openness to experience and conscientiousness are positively associated with their knowledge self-efficacy, which are positively related to their knowledge sharing intentions. Based on the new findings, theoretical and practical implications are provided for knowledge management researchers and managers in practice.
The goal of this study is to determine the social emotion model as an emotion sharing relationship and information sharing relationship based on the user's relations at social networking services. 26 social emotions were extracted by verification of compliance among 92 different emotions collected from the literature survey. The survey on the 26 emotion words was verified to the similarity of social relation types to the Likert 7-points scale. The principal component analysis of the survey data determined 12 representative social emotions in the emotion sharing relation and 13 representative social emotions in the information sharing relation. Multidimensional scaling developed the two-dimensional social emotion model of emotion sharing relation and of information sharing relation based on online communication environment. Meanwhile, insignificant factors in the suggest social emotion models were removed by the structural equation modeling analysis, statistically. The test result of validity analysis demonstrated the fitness of social emotion models at emotion sharing relationships (CFI: .887, TLI: .885, RMSEA: .094), social emotion model of information sharing relationships (CFI: .917, TLI: .900, RMSEA : 0.050). In conclusion, this study presents two different social emotion models based on two different relation types. The findings of this study will provide not only a reference of evaluating social emotions in designing social networking services but also a direction of improving social emotions.
Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine what motivates users to adopt one of the emerging applications for collaborative consumption of sharing economy. Using the self-determination theory, motivation theory and TAM(Technology Acceptance Model) as the theoretical framework, this study illustrates important factors that influence adoption of collaborative consumption service. We develops the ICTs(Information and Communications Technologies) initiatives and motivation model to collaborative consumption. Design/methodology/approach This paper makes use of a quantitative methodology using survey questionnaire that allows for the measurement of the eight constructs(System Availability, Contents Quality, Design & Personalization, Security & Privacy, Emotional & Social Value, Economic Value, Attitude, Adoption & Consumption) contained in the hypothesized theoretical model on the basis of the prior literatures. Data collected from a sample of 227 respondents who have used the collaborative consumption services and provided the foundation for the examination of the proposed relationships in the model. Findings This study has the following implications for the users and providers of CC platforms and services. The ICTs initiatives (System Availability, Contents Quality, Design & Personalization, Security & Privacy) are the influential factors that motivate the emotional and social value to CC. On the other hand, The ICTs initiatives (System Availability, Contents Quality) are not very significant factors of economic value to CC. The empirical analysis result indicate that there are significant causal effect among emotional & social value, economic value, and adoption to CC. This study provides important theoretical implications for innovation adoption research through an empirical examination of the relationship between ICTs initiatives, motivation factors to collaborative consumption in the sharing economy.
Start-ups do not have enough resources such as financial capital and established customer base. Knowledge base of start-up team members is the crucial and unrivaled resource. This study tries to explicate the knowledge sharing process occurring in this knowledge base of start-up teams. Adopting the knowledge process view, detail process of knowledge sharing process model is constructed consisting of knowledge sharing speed, quality and quantity in a form of nomological net and empirically tested. In addition, preceding antecedents and consequential outcomes of this knowledge sharing is also posited as part of the research model : knowledge state of the team leading to team creativity and agility via the explicated knowledge sharing process model. Also, as this knowledge based view are triggered by the advance of IT in general, IT support is conceptualized as an antecedent and measures are operationalized. 230 data points were collected from start-up teams. Via data analysis using PLS, theoretical relationships from knowledge state, IT support, knowledge sharing process and knowledge consequences are found to be empirically supported except a few not supported. Most of all, team agility and team creativity are theoretically supported and empirically validated as critical outcome variables beyond performance measures. Though agility and creativity has been discussed as critical construct in start-up teams, it has not be much validated empirically. Also, interestingly, IT support are found to be significantly impacting the knowledge sharing process as expected. Academic contributions and implications for practice are discussed at the end with limitations and further research.
This study was conducted to analyze the effect of information security activities on organizational performance. With this in mind and with the aim of resolving transaction stability in the securities industry, using an organization's security activities as a tool for carrying out information security activities, the effect of security activities on organizational performance was analyzed. Under the assumption that the effectiveness of information security activities can be bolstered to enhance organizational performance, such effects were analyzed based on Herzberg's motivation theory, which is one of the motivation theories that may influence information protection activities. To measure the actual attributes of the theoretical model, an empirical survey of the securities industry was conducted. In this explorative study, the proposed model was verified using partial least squares as a structural equation model consisting of IT service, information security, information sharing, transaction stability, and organizational performance.

In this paper, we investigate a spectrum sharing scheme based on the interference temperature (IT), that is a recently introduced receiver-centric metric by FCC. We extend the existing frequency sharing procedure for single CR to the one for multiple CRs (or secondary users, SUs). In the proposed interference model, we consider the practical operating characteristics of primary users (PUs), stochastically activated (ON)/deactivated (OFF) at the time axis, and analyze quantitatively the CR user capacity based on the model. We define the instantaneous capacity for idle time-slot channel allocation and the mean capacity averaging this instantaneous capacity and use them for a proper frequency sharing. Apart from existing schemes, the proposed frequency sharing scheme changes the frequency parameters adaptively depending on the channel characteristics and does not need any sensing information from PUs. Through computer simulation, we verify the proposed model.
In the new web based learning environment which has recently emerged, a variety of new learning objectives and teaching methods suited to this learning environment have been adopted. Recently, web based project-based learning methods have received a great deal of attention from those wishing to improve learning performance. The objective of this study is to identify the impact of characteristics of communication media and instruction behavior on collaborative interaction and project performance through web based group projects. The characteristics of communication media were divided into richness, flexibility, and ease of use, and the characteristics of instruction behavior were divided into support and expression, which are independent variables. Collaborative interaction as a mediate variable, was divided into information sharing and negotiation. Project performance was the dependent variable. To verify the proposed research model empirically, an experiment was conducted in which learners participated in on-line and off-line courses with group projects. The group project was conducted virtual product development(VPD), and designed a web-site about the VPD. At the end of the project, a survey was conducted. Of the 270 students, 239 responded. The students were assigned to groups of 3 or 4 members, and represented different genders and levels of computer competence. The reliability, validity, and correlation of research variables were analyzed using SPSS 14.0, and the measurement model and the structural goodness-of-fit of the research model were verified through SEM analysis using Lisrel 8.54. We found important results as follows; First, richness and ease of use has positive impacts on each of sharing information and negotiation. This suggests that richness and ease of use are useful in sharing information which is related to the task and agreeing in opinions among group members. However, flexibility has not positive impacts on sharing information and negotiation. This implies that there is no great difference in performance of PC and information literacy of user. Second, support and expression of instructor have positive impacts on sharing information and negotiation. This indicates that instructors play an important role in encouraging learners to participate in the project and communicating with them, sharing information related to the project, making a resonable decision and finally leading them to improve a project performance. Third, collaborative interaction has a positive impact on project performance. This result shows that if the ability to share information and negotiate among students was improved then a project performance would be improved as well. Recently, in the state of revitalized web based learning, it is opportune that web-based group project is practically conducted, and the impact of characteristics of communication media and characteristics of instruction behavior on sharing information, negotiating among group members and improving a project performance is verified. On the basis of these results, we propose that forms of learning, such as web based project, could be one of solution which is to enforce interaction among learners, and ultimately improve learning performance. Moreover web-based group project is able to make up for a weakness which makes it difficult to make interpersonal relations or friendship among learners in computer mediated communication or web based learning.

An analysis of Airbnb and Kozaza will show how valuable and rare resource can have an impact on company performances. Airbnb applied the sharing economy platform, and this business model had disrupted the hospitality industry. Thus, this paper will investigate a Korean company called Kozaza which had benchmarked Airbnb. Furthermore, it will apply the theory of VRIO framework, which consists of how valuable, rare, costly to imitate (imitability), and organization (exploited by the organization) to find competitiveness of Kozaza in the hospitality industry. Thus, it will attempt to show that Kozaza's business model of utilizing the unused resource of Hanok (traditional Korean house) and partnerships with Hanokstay, Seoul Metropolitan Government and Soul Tourism Organization and others have enhanced their resource and capability to strengthen their business model. Furthermore, this research will explore how Kozaza can competitively be successful in the future.
Purpose The purpose of this study is to attempt to incorporate power theory to evaluate information capability of SCM adopters. Therefore, this study focuses on the relationship of information sharing, partnership quality, and information capacity according to the power intensity of the variables of SCM. and CSV value creation. Design/methodology/approach The questionnaire of SCM builder was conducted and 302 samples were analyzed. Based on the theoretical background of power and information capacity, we set up a structural equation model. Hypothesis testing and statistical analysis were done through AMOS and SPSS. Findings First, it shows that the compensation power among the constrained power has a positive effect on the partnership quality, and the legitimacy power has the positive influence only on the information sharing. Compulsive power, compensation, and legitimacy, which are generally restrictive powers, may reduce the quality of information sharing and partnership, but the results of this study are rather higher. Second, both non-binding power expertise and criterion have a positive effect on information sharing and partnership quality. Third, information sharing has a positive effect on partnership quality. Supporting a number of research results, it is well reflected in SCM attributes where interdependence is important. Fourth, information sharing and partnership quality have a positive effect on information capacity. Information literacy has become an essential element in modern management. Fifth, the enhancement of CSV value creation plays a role of a controlling variable to further strengthen information sharing through non - binding power attribute, expertise and conformity. In addition, the strengthening of CSV value creation has been shown to play a role as a controlling variable to further strengthen the quality of partnership through the non-binding power attribution, but expertise has been rejected.
