  • Testing the analog/mixed-signal circuitry of a mixed-signal IC has become a difficult task. Offset error, gain error, Non-monotonic behavior, Differential Non-linearity(DNL) error, Integral Non-linearity(INL) error are important specifications used as test parameters for DAC. In this paper, we propose an efficient BIST structure for DAC testing. The proposed BIST adds the circuit which uses the capacitor and op-amp, and accomplishes a test.

  • In this paper we present a novel method of applying image scrambling technology which belongs to the information hiding field in the error control coding to introduce confidentiality in wireless machine to machine communication. The interleaver in serial concatenated convolutional codes, which is the key module in overcoming burst errors, is deliberately designed with the scrambling function to provide a low error rate for those authorized transceivers. By contrast, the unauthorized transceivers without keys would get so high an error rate that decoding bits could bring little value, thus realizing both the confidentiality and reliability in wireless machine to machine communication.

  • This paper proposes a 10-b SAR ADC. To increase the conversion speed and reduce the power consumption and area, redundant cycles were implemented digitally in a capacitor DAC. The capacitor DAC algorithm was straightforward switching, which included digital error correction steps. A prototype ADC was implemented in CMOS $0.18-{\mu}m$ technology. This structure consumed $140{\mu}W$ and achieved 59.4-dB SNDR at 1.25MS/s under a 1.8-V supply. The figure of merit (FOM) was 140fJ/conversion-step.

  • In the QR Decomposition-based (QRD) decoding class, the system performance is sensitive to the error propagation. Thus, it is critical to correctly decode the previous layers. One approach to desensitize the error propagation is to propose the optimal decoding order of layers. In this work, we propose a new extended-list Sorted QRD-base (SQRD) decoding approach. In the proposed decoding scheme, the solution of the few first layers is extended as the list of promising possible solutions. By doing so, the diversity of the lowest layer is increased. As a result, the system performance is less sensitive to the error propagation than its counterparts. The proposed approach is verified by the computer simulation results.

  • In the deployable solid surface antennas, the effects on the performances of antenna due to the structural errors that occur during the deployment are analyzed. The deployable solid surface antennas employed in a satellite are launched in folded configuration and those are deployed in the space environment, and the effects on the antenna performance are calculated depending on the type of surface errors. When the deviation error occurs in one panel, the degradation of performance appears in the side where the incomplete deployment of panel occurs. By assuming that the panel error distribution is in cosine function, the effect of errors are calculated and analyzed with regard to the types and the magnitude of the error. If the antena panel error is uniform, the gain is reduced and pattern is symmetric. For the panel error of cosine 1 or 3 cycle, the main lobe tilts while the pattern is symmetric and the gain reduces for 2 or 4 cycle error.

  • This paper presents a new in-flight alignment method for an SDINS under large initial heading error. To handle large heading error, a new attitude error model is introduced. The attitude errors are divided into heading error and leveling errors using a newly defined horizontal frame. Some navigation error dynamic models are derived from the attitude error model for indirect feedback filtering of the in-flight alignment system. A Kalman filter with Position measurement is designed to estimate navigation errors as the indirect feedback filter Simulation results show that the proposed in-flight alignment method reduces the heading error very quickly from more than 40deg to about 5deg so as to apply a refined navigation filter. The total alignment process including leveling mode and navigation mode in addition to the proposed one allows large initial values not only in heading error but also in leveling errors.

  • In the sheet metal forming operations, the strain measurement of sheet panel is an essential work which provides the formability information needed in die design, process design, and product inspection. To measure efficiently complex geometry strains, the 3-dimensional automative strain measurement system, which theoretically has a high accuracy but practically has about 3~5% strain error, is often used. For eliminating the strain error resulted in measuring the strains of formed panels using an automated strain measurement system, the position error calibration method is suggested, which computes accurate strains using the grids with accurate nodal coordinates. The accurate nodal coordinates are calculated by adding the nodal coordinates measured by the measurement system and the position error found using the multiple regression method as a function of the main error parameters obtained from the analysis of strain error in a standard cube. For the verification, the strain distributions of square and dome cups obtained from the position error calibration method are compared with those provided by the finite element analysis and ASAME.

  • A lot of data, particularly in the medical field, contain variables that have a measurement error such as blood pressure and body mass index. On the other hand, recently smoothing methods are often used to solve a complex scientific problem. In this paper, we study a Bayesian curve-fitting under functional measurement error model. Especially, we extend our previous model by incorporating covariates free of measurement error. In this paper, we consider penalized splines for non-linear pattern. We employ a hierarchical Bayesian framework based on Markov Chain Monte Carlo methodology for fitting the model and estimating parameters. For application we use the data from the fifth wave (2012) of the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data, a national population-based data. To examine the convergence of MCMC sampling, potential scale reduction factors are used and we also confirm a model selection criteria to check the performance.

  • This paper presents the new hybrid data mining technique using error pattern, modeling of improving classification accuracy. The proposed method improves classification accuracy by combining two different supervised learning methods. The main algorithm generates error pattern modeling between the two supervised learning methods(ex: Neural Networks, Decision Tree, Logistic Regression and so on.) The Proposed modeling method has been applied to the simulation of 10,000 data sets generated by Normal and exponential random distribution. The simulation results show that the performance of proposed method is superior to the existing methods like Logistic regression and Discriminant analysis.
