지식서비스기업의 관리프로세스 비효율에 영향을 미치는 요인 연구 (Factors Affecting Management Process Inefficiency of Knowledge Service Firms)

  • 지식서비스기업은 자신들이 가진 지식과 경험에 기반하여 고객문제 해결 및 조직관리 프로세스의 효율성을 향상시킴으로써 보다 높은 성과를 창출할 수 있다. 본 연구는 관리 프로세스에 대해 그 동안 간과되어 왔던 비효율을 중심으로 탐구하며, 그 선행요인으로 위계문화와 IT 조직기능 연관성을 제시하고 각 관계를 강화하는 업무 난이도의 조절효과에 대해 실증하였다. 분석 결과, 관리프로세스 비효율에 대해 위계문화는 정(+)의 영향을, IT 조직기능 연관성은 부(-)의 영향을, 그 둘의 관계 사이에서 업무 난이도는 모두 유의한 조절효과를 나타내었다. 또한 관리프로세스 비효율은 조직성과에 부(-)의 영향을 미치며 IT 조직기능 연관성과 조직성과 사이에서 완전매개 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 지식서비스기업이 보다 높은 성과를 달성하기 위해서는 형식적 절차의 최소화, 적절한 권한위임을 통한 의사결정 융통성 확보, 원활한 정보흐름 및 소통 분위기 조성, 임직원들의 IT 자원관리 및 활용수준 제고 등을 통해 위계문화는 낮추고 IT 조직기능 연관성은 향상시켜야 한다. 또한 업무프로세스 비효율을 보다 효과적으로 낮추기 위해서는, 업무난이도가 높은 기업은 위계문화 제거에, 낮은 기업은 IT 조직기능 연관성 향상에 상대적으로 더 많은 노력을 기울일 것이 요구된다.

Long Term Mean Reversion of Stock Prices Based on Fractional Integration

  • In this study we examine the long term behavior of stock returns. The analysis reveals that negative autocorrelations of the returns exist for a super-long horizon as long as 10 years. This pattern, however, contrasts to predictions of previous stock price models which include random walks. We suggest the introduction of a fractionally integrated process into a nonstationary component of stock prices, and demonstrate empirically the existence of the process in NYSE stock returns. The predicted values of autocorrelation from our stock price model confirm the super-long term behavior of the returns observed in regression, indicating that inefficiency in the stock market could remain for a long time.

경량 컴포넌트 구조의 XPDL 기반 워크플로 관리 시스템 개발 (Development of an XPDL-Based Workflow Management System Using the Light-Weight Component Structure)

  • Recently, many enterprises are introducing a workflow management system for the successful implementation of BPR(Business Process Reengineering). Proposed in this study is the workflow management system which has a light-weight component structure and an XPDL(XML Process Definition Language) file interpretation facility. The XPDL is the standard process definition exchange format developed by WfMC(Workflow Management Coalition). The major causes of inefficiency at current implementations of workflow management systems are the centralized workflow engine structure and the use of proprietary workflow definition format among most solutions. The proposed light-weight component structure in this study is the intermediate structure that takes the strength of both centralized and distributed workflow engines. And a prototype workflow system which uses an XPDL process definition file as input is developed through the thorough analysis of functional requirements.

물류체계의 상대적 효율성 평가모형 (A Relative Efficiency Assessment Model for Logistics Systems)

  • We propose a series of methodologies that can evaluate relative efficiency of logistics units(centers) in three categories; managerial, cost, and operational efficiency. Inputs and outputs of logistics systems are first defined. Appropriate quantitative and qualitative measures for the three categories are then selected. Employed also are Analytic Hierarchy Process, Weighted Scoring Method, Stochastic Frontier Model, and Data Envelopment Analysis for the development of a comprehensive assessment scheme. Our scheme not only assesses the degree of relative efficiency of logistics units but also identify the sources of inefficiency in each unit The methodologies are applied to a large telecommunications company which operates 12 distribution centers nation wide. Relative efficiencies of the centers are compared using 1995-1997 performance data. Summarized are the level of efficiency of each distribution center for each of the three categories. The degree and sources of inefficiency of each distribution center are also discussed.

  • It is still difficult to share and utilize the information generated at each phase of a steel box girder production process due to the spatial gap and different level of management information. The physical distance results in the inefficiency of the information transmission, the accidental omission and typos of the relative information, and so on. Various levels of management information make it difficult to embody a new management system. Eventually, these factors incur the loss of cost and schedule and interrupt development of a new management system. This paper analyzes a current process and presents graphical process flow by using IDEF0. Based this analysis, the research for new production process and work breakdown structure (WBS) is conducted. At the end of this paper, the conceptual design of this system is suggested. Through new management system, it is expected that the model proposed in this study will improve the management process in the steel box production, and the improved process will reduce the redundant cost and schedule information, transmission and deposit generated by manual paper.

부트스트랩 자료포락분석을 이용한 프로젝트 관리 조직의 효율성 분석 (Efficiency Analysis of Project Management Offices Using Bootstrap DEA)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the efficiencies of project management offices in large information system construction projects using the data envelopment analysis. In addition, we tried to estimate the confidence interval of those efficiencies using bootstrap DEA to give a statistical meaning. The efficiency by the CCR model is analyzed as eight project management offices are fully efficient and 22 project management offices are inefficient. On the other hand, there are 15 project management offices are fully efficient, but 15 project management offices are inefficient in the BCC model. As the result of the scale efficiencies, of the inefficient project management offices, 13 project management offices are inefficient in scale. It is possible to eliminate the inefficiency in the CCR model by improving their project performances. And, the nine project management offices showed that the inefficiency was due to pure technical efficiency, and these companies should look for various improvements such as improvement of project execution system and project management process. In order that the inefficient project management offices be efficient, it is analyzed that more efforts must be made for on-budget and on-time as a result of examining the potential improvement potentials of inefficient project management offices.

시공성을 위한 Dependency Structure Matrix 기반의 설계 프로세스 관리 모델 개발 (Development of Design Process Management Model using Dependency Structure Matrix for Constructability)

  • 시공단계의 경험 및 지식을 반영한 설계 결과물은 시공 효율성을 향상시키고 설계변경을 최소화하여 프로젝트의 낭비요인 제거와 전체적인 생산성 향상을 가능하게 해준다. 설계자가 설계단계에서 시공단계의 경험 및 지식을 효과적으로 활용하기 위해서는, 설계과정에서 필요한 시공성 지식을 필요한 시점에 활용할 수 있어야 한다. 설계단계에서 시공성 지식의 효과적인 활용을 위한 기존의 접근방법은 체크리스트와 같이 설계단계 별로 활용되는 시공성 지식의 구조화에 초점을 맞추고, 설계의 사결정과정의 기본단위가 되는 액티비티 수준에서 시공성 지식의 활용시점에 대한 고려가 부족하다. 하지만 적절하지 않은 시점에서 고려된 시공성 지식은 설계자에게 불필요한 재작업을 야기해 설계생산성을 저하시키는 문제를 발생시킬 수 있다. 이러한 비효율적인 정보교환을 최소화하기 위해서는, 설계 프로세스 상에서 정보흐름에 중점을 둔 설계관리를 통해 각 시공성 지식들을 요구하는 설계 액티비티가 무엇인지를 파악해야 한다. 이에 본 연구는 Dependency Structure Matrix(DSM)를 이용하여 설계의사결정과정의 기본단위가 되는 설계 익티비티와 설계과정에서 고려해야 하는 시공성 지식간의 상호관계를 고려한 정보흐름기반의 설계프로세스관리를 제안한다. 이는 설계프로세스관리를 설계단계에서의 단순한 설계검토보다 한 단계 높은, 건설프로젝트 전 과정과 연계된 포괄적인 관리활동으로 발전시켜 건설생산합리화에 크게 기여할 수 있으리라 예상된다.

한국의 다목적댐 수력발전 체계-투자의 정당화와 경제적 운영- (A Framework for Investment Justification and Economic Operation-)

  • Hydro-electric power generation from multi-purpose dams has been playing important roles in the electric power supply network in Korea. Although the total share of hydro power in national electricity supply now becomes very small, the peak-shaving and frequency control capability of hydro power helps the power company enormously in maintaining the quality of power. But since the company that builds and operates the multi-purpose dams in Korea has to sell all the electricity produced to the monopolistic utility, there have been various problems in justifying the investment, designing pricing mechanism, and controlling operations of the power plants. In addition, economic evaluation of the hydro power has been distorted by a variety of reasons and hence it has been very difficult to encourage effective development and utilization of national water resources. To make the problem worse, both parties are public companies with X-inefficiency problems. Thus, changing environment requires to reengineer the system that governs hydro power generation. We address the problems of Korean hydro-electric power generation system in four areas: the investment justification process, the operations decison right of the hydro power plants, the pricing of the purchased-power, and the negotiation of contract revision. Then we propose improvement directions of new hydro-electric power system in view of static and dynamic efficiency, X-inefficiency and equity.

정보처리기술을 이용한 은행업무의 재설계에 관한 연구 (The study on the Re - design of Banking Business using the Information Technology)

  • Since the bank managers were accustomed to be under the goverment policy and control so far, all what they had to do were just to follow the government policy and wait for customers. These usual practices resultedin neglection of concerns for innovation and competitive power. However, it currently happens the change of business environment such as the liberalization of interest rates and the open finance market policy. Thus, it is necessary for the bank managers to have a concern on that situation for the improvement of profitability through productivity and cost-down. The bank managers are trying to set out an innovation strategy to cope with this situation. An innovation strategy should be based on its own characteristics of banking business. The banking business is different from those of other business because it deals with intangible services rather than material goods and thus, the bank managers have to be more sensitive to the customers. There also exists an inefficiency of internal process due to too many repetition of 'check and balance'. Thus, We set out the five principles and six selected tasks in order to settle down an inefficiency and to redesign a bank operation process.
