The Impact of Convergence on Business Performance;An Empirical Study on Korean ICT Sector

  • The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector is undergoing a fundamental transformation. Determinant factors in this transformation process are deregulations and technological advancements. From the value chain perspective, industry convergence plays the most crucial role in the transformation of the established telecommunications and media industries. The objective of this paper is to validate the impact of convergence on the business performance using empirical data. To identify the various effects driven by industry convergence, we analyzed the relationships between firm's degree of convergence and the business performance using regression analysis. From the empirical result with the 2002-2005 data, it was found that the convergence across ICT sectors improves the business performance measured by Tobin's q significantly and this is only a recent phenomenon. These results are consistent with the conjecture that higher degree of convergence is becoming more associated with higher market value.

  • This study analyses the transformation of Asian steel trade and the change of corporate strategy. The purpose of this paper is to examine the circumstances of Asian steel industrial policies, and considering the feature of each nation's steel industrial policies, and the effect of the corporate strategy. In China, mighty steel productive capacity had already formed under original planned economy and industrial policy. In 2003, crude steel production have exceeded 220 million ton in China and that is 23.2% of the steel production share in the world. On the other hand, not only the amount but also the quality becomes an important point in the steel industry in the future. I consider, on researching Asian steel industry, it is important to build up partnership in Korea and Japan for achieve strategic alliance in the steel industry policies and understanding the change of corporate strategy.

  • 디지털트랜스포메이션 추진 목표의 주요 내용중 하나인 생산성 향상 및 비용 절감, 의사결정 효율성 향상 등을 위하여 많은 기업들이 디지털 전환을 위한 다양한 IT도입을 추진중에 있다. 정보기술(IT : Information Technology)은 경쟁력을 결정하는 핵심수단이며, 전 세계적으로 IT도입은 매년 증가하고 있다. 금융산업도 수익창출, 업무 효율성 제고, 전략적 경쟁우위 확보 등을 위해 매년 막대한 IT도입이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 공공⋅기업부문의 IT도입에 대한 연구는 어느 정도 진행된 것에 비하여 금융산업의 특성을 반영한 실증연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 디지털트랜스포메이션 촉진을 위한 금융산업의 IT도입 여부에 영향을 미치는 요인을 도출하고 가중치와 우선순위를 분석하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 금융 IT도입시 요인들의 상대적 우선순위가 각 그룹별로 차이가 존재한다는 점을 데이터 분석을 통하여 밝혀냄으로써 각 그룹별 관점에서 어떤 요인을 우선적으로 고려하여 IT도입을 하여야 하는지에 대한 준거모형으로 활용 할 수 있다는 점에서 그 의의가 있을 것이다.

  • 플랫폼 비즈니스의 급속한 성장과 함께 디지털 트랜스포메이션은 기업의 가장 중요한 화두로 부상하였으며, 기업에게 있어 더 이상 선택사항이 아닌 생존을 위한 필수전략이 되었다. 많은 기존 기업들은 디지털화를 위하여 필사의 노력을 하고 있다. 관련된 많은 연구들이 있었지만, 아직 대부분 사례 분석들을 통한 개념적 모델 수준의 연구들에 머물고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 디지털 트랜스포메이션의 기반이 되는 플랫폼 비즈니스 모델을 중심으로 트랜스포메이션을 통해 획득할 효익의 근간이 되는 데이터의 통합 및 증가되는 네트워크 효과의 효익을 학술적, 체계적으로 분석해 보고자 하는 것이다. 플랫폼 기반 변화는 내부의 효율성 강화와 외부적 확장으로 구분할 수 있다. 내부적으로는 기업의 내부 데이터가 결합되고 다시 의사결정 및 실행과 결합되도록 하는 데이터 구조 개선 및 조직의 개선이 필요할 것이며, 외부적으로는 플랫폼 비즈니스 모델 기반 사업 구현으로 보다 많은 소비자의 외부 데이터를 결합, 활용하는 구조를 세워 신사업 개척, 소비자 행동 예측을 위한 가치를 높여야 할 것이다. 디지털 트랜스포메이션이 성숙되지 않은 상황에서, IT인프라가 가장 구조적으로 앞서 있는 금융산업은 가장 먼저 산업적으로 이상을 실현할 수 있는 산업으로 기대되고 있다. 외부 데이터 결합 사업을 위하여 금융 기업들은 다양한 시도들을 하고 있으며, 좋은 결실을 맺는다면 타 산업의 전환성숙에도 공헌할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 정책적으로는 정부의 마이데이터 사업 실시에 있어 국가 차원의 데이터 구조, 거래 체계에 대한 논의가 빨리 진행되어야 할 필요성을 제기하였다.

A study on digital transformation of SMEs from the perspective of information technology

  • Purpose - With the rapid development of information technology, the digital economy has become an important grip of the new development pattern, and the digital transformation of enterprises is a major trend. As SMEs are the mainstay of the economy and employment, it is important to study the digital transformation of SMEs to promote the development of the digital economy. Research design, data, and methodology - Based on a resource-based view, this report analyses the current situation and issues of digital transformation of SMEs from the perspective of digital orientation as well as the breadth and depth of technological capabilities of enterprises, using data from a survey of 200 manufacturing enterprises in China. Result - The results show that SMEs generally have a digital transformation mindset, but a weak digital foundation. In order to execute a digital strategy, companies need digital transformation capabilities. These behavioral capabilities are guided by the strategic direction of the business, and companies with strong capabilities are always trying to tap into the full digital potential. Conclusion - In order to effectively promote the digital transformation of SMEs, we suggest that SMEs pay attention to digital capability building, make good use of digital platforms and network resources, and lay a solid foundation for digital transformation; meanwhile, we suggest that government departments play a guiding and supporting role to build a cross-industry and cross-sector digital synergy system to help promote the development of SMEs' digital transformation. This paper presents some suggestions from both the internal and external environment of the enterprise, with the expectation of contributing to the digital transformation practices of SMEs.

패션 산업의 디지털 전환에 따른 증강현실 기술의 활용특성 (Characteristics of Application of Augmented Reality Technology according to the Digital Transformation in the Fashion Industry)

  • 팬데믹 환경의 지속과 더불어 패션 산업의 다양한 분야에서 디지털 전환이 적용되고 있다. 증강현실 기술은 현실 세계에 가상의 이미지를 오버랩해서 보여주는 형태로 비대면 환경하에서 온라인 쇼핑이 확대되면서 패션, 뷰티 분야에서 증강현실 기술의 활용이 소비자 만족도 및 매출 증대에 영향을 미치고 있다. 본 연구에서는 디지털 전환에 따른 패션산업에서 활용되고 있는 증강현실 콘텐츠의 특성을 의상, 액세서리, 패션스토어 및 AR패션쇼 분야까지 확장하여 증강현실의 사례 특성을 분석하였다. 패션 산업의 증강현실 기술은 마케팅 활동을 통해 SNS나 홈페이지를 통한 의상 및 액세서리 제품 홍보 특성이 중심을 이루고 있으며 가상 쇼룸 과 AR패션쇼를 통한 구매 과정에서의 편의성 확대 및 엔터테인먼트 콘텐츠 활용에 의한 매출 신장과 브랜드 인지도 향상등의 긍정적 가치를 높이고 있다. 미래디지털 패션 환경에서 증강현실이 활용되는 유형의 범위는 지속적으로 확대될 것이며 증강현실기술의 활용 특성을 도출함으로써 향후 패션산업의 미래 비전을 제시하는데 기여하고자 한다.

Simultaneous Control of Phase Transformation and Crystal of Amorphous TiO2 Coating on MWCNT Surface

  • We developed a mass production method that simultaneously controls the phase transformation and crystal size of $TiO_2$ coatings on multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). Initially, MWCNTs were successfully coated with amorphous 15-20-nm-thick $TiO_2$ by an in-situ sol-gel method. As the calcination temperature increased in both air and argon atmospheres, the amorphous $TiO_2$ was gradually transformed into the fully anatase phase at approximately $600^{\circ}C$, a mixture of the anatase and rutile phases at approximately $700^{\circ}C$, and the fully rutile phase above approximately $800^{\circ}C$. The crystal size increased with increasing calcination temperature. Moreover, above $600^{\circ}C$, the size of crystals formed in air was approximately twice that of crystals formed in argon. The reason is thought to be that MWCNTs, which continuously supported the stresses associated with the reconstructive phase transformation, disappeared owing to complete oxidation in air at these high temperatures.

  • From the mid-to-late 2010s, technology was frequently mentioned in the definition of digital transformation. In the early stages, the private sector started actively using it, and the public sector started to take it seriously. Divided into "providing value and cultural change, the main goals of digital transformation were accomplished, and the ideas of creating new values in social and industrial systems and applying digital technology appeared to be related. Digital transformation, defined as the idea of combining digital solutions to boost competitiveness and add value, necessitates social innovation and cultural shifts at the national level. In order to encourage the digital transformation of the industry, the Industrial Digital Transformation Promotion Act was passed in December 2021. This set the groundwork for a comprehensive and organized approach to facilitating the use of industrial information. We will examine the nature and extent of digital transformation in this study, as well as discover the organizations and regulations that support it. We also want to examine the essential standards and technologies needed to put the digital transformation plan into practice. Lastly, We'll make some conclusions about how this will affect public services' digital transformation.

A Study on Agile Transformation in the New Digital Age

  • In the face of recent digital and digital transformation, companies and industries are trying to be agile to adapt and respond to change. Agile paradigm is spreading beyond the boundaries of existing applications such as IT-related projects and software development. In this regard, this study, we analyzed the diffusion of agile paradigm by text mining abstracts of research papers from 2001 to 2019. In addition, we discussed agile transformation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Through this study, we confirmed that we are studying agile transformation in various fields such as business environment, corporate organizational culture, manufacturing industry, and supply chain. The results of this study will contribute to understanding the meaning and role of agile as a basic paradigm for digital transformation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

  • This study explores application of upcycling design methods in structural transformation of second-hand denim clothing, aiming to achieve sustainable design objectives. By drawing inspiration from Liu Qing's research methods in the field of circular utilization of denim clothing, this study collected and analyzed cases of structural transformation of used denim clothing from 2020 to 2023. It summarized structural transformation design methods for used denim clothing. Through the development of design works, this study aims to find out the best upgrading and renovation design strategy by applying the method of structural renovation design. This study aims to support the development of a sustainable fashion industry and promote recycling and upcycling of discarded clothing fabrics, thereby reducing resource waste and environmental impact.
