익산 제 2공단 토양의 중금속 함량 분포 조사 (Distribution of Heavy metals in Soil at Iksan 2nd Industrial Complex Area)

  • 익산 제 2공단은 1995년 조성 후 생산활동이 진행됨에 따른 토양의 중금속 함량을 비오염지의 자연토양 중 함량과 비교하고, 산업활동의 유형에 따른 토양중 중금속 함량 변화와의 관계를 구명하기 위하여 주로 표층토를 중심으로 $0{\sim}3\;cm$, $3{\sim}6\;cm$ 토양층에 있는 Cd, Cu, Ni, Pb 및 Zn의 함량을 조사${\cdot}$분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. Cd의 함량의 경우 $0{\sim}3\;cm$ 층은 $0.07\;{\sim}\;4.375\;ppm$ 범위로 평균 0.516 ppm, $3{\sim}6\;cm$ 층은 $0.07{\sim}8.52\;ppm$ 범위로 평균 0.380 ppm 이었으며, 화학제품, 염료 및 금속제품을 생산하는 지역이 높았다. 2. Cu의 함량 분포의 경우 $0{\sim}3\;cm$ 층은 $0.61\;{\sim}\;42.62\;ppm$ 범위로 평균 11.087 ppm, $3{\sim}6\;cm$ 층은 $0.16{\sim}35.45\;ppm$ 범위로 평균 7.578 ppm 이었으며, 금속제품을 생산하는 지역이 주로 높았다. 3. Ni의 함량 분포의 경우 $0{\sim}3\;cm$ 층은 $0.19\;{\sim}\;15.93\;ppm$ 범위로 평균 5.525 ppm, $3{\sim}6\;cm$ 층은 $0.39{\sim}15.59\;ppm$ 범위로 평균 5.310 ppm 이었으며, 금속 및 화학제품을 생산하는 지역이 주로 높았다. 4. Pb의 함량 분포의 경우 $0{\sim}3\;cm$ 층은 $3.10\;{\sim}\;55.75\;ppm$ 범위로 평균 23.543 ppm, $3{\sim}6\;cm$ 층은 $3.35{\sim}46.55\;ppm$ 범위로 평균 19.198 ppm 이었으며, 화학제품 및 금속제품을 생산하는 지역이 높았다. 5. Zn의 함량 분포의 경우 $0{\sim}3\;cm$ 층은 $26.50\;{\sim}\;943.00\;ppm$ 범위로 평균 158.329 ppm, $3{\sim}6\;cm$ 층은 $35.45{\sim}882.45\;ppm$ 범위로 평균 127.914 ppm 이었으며, 화학제품, 염료 및 금속제품을 생산하는 지역이 높았다. 이상의 결과를 토대로 세계의 비오염 토양 함량수준과 본조사지역의 평균함량을 비교하면 Cu, Ni은 비오염 수준이었으나, Cd은 기준치를 약간 넘었고, Pb과 Zn은 기준치보다 훨씬 높아 익산 제2공단의 오염정도는 산업(화학제품, 염료 및 금속 제품을 생산)유형에 따라 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

효소처리와 트레할로스를 첨가한 백설기의 품질 특성 변화 연구 (A Study on the Quality Characteristics of Backsulgi Prepared with Combined Treatment of Enzyme and Trehalose)

  • 본 연구는 백설기의 노화를 억제 및 저장 중 품질 향상을 위한 Novamyl의 최적 첨가량을 0.1%로 선정하고 트레할로스를 5%, 10%, 15% 첨가하여 백설기를 제조한 후 상 온(${25^{\circ}C}$)에서 0, 1, 2, 3일간 저장하면서 기계적 및 관능적 특성과 노화 속도 변화를 살펴보았으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 수분활성도는 트레할로스의 첨가량이 증가할수록 유의적으로 감소하였으며 저장 일수에 따른 차이는 없었다. 색도는 트레할로스를 첨가한 백설기의 명도(L값)가 유의적으로 낮게 나타났으며 적색도를 나타내는 a값은 첨가군이 대조구에 비해 낮게 나타났고 황색도(b값)는 첨가군이 다소 낮은 값을 보였으며 저장 일수가 증가함에 따라 황색도가 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 기계적 조직감에 대해서는 트레할로스의 첨가량이 증가할수록 경도가 감소하였고 저장 중 씹힘성의 감소폭이 감소하였다. Avrami 방정식으로 노화속도를 측정하였으며, Avrami exponent(n) 값과 시간상수(1/k) 값을 계산한 결과 트레할로스 첨가군이 대조구에 비해 노화속도가 감소하였음을 알 수 있었다. 관능검사 결과에서 15% 첨가구가 대부분의 항목에서 우수한 결과를 보였고 특히 전반적인 기호도 및 씹힘성 항목에서 높은 선호도 값을 보였으나 10% 첨가구와의 유의적인 차이는 보이지 않았다. 이와 같은 실험결과를 통해 백설기 제조 시 Novamyl 0.1%를 처리하고 트레할로스를 첨가할 경우 노화 억제와 품질 향상의 효과가 있었으며, 특히 기계적 측정 결과와 관능검사 결과를 종합했을 때, 트레할로스를 10% 첨가가 15%의 첨가에 비해 유의적인 차이가 적어 가장 적절한 것으로 나타났다. 효소의 첨가는 백설기의 노화를 억제하는 효과가 있지만 물성적인 측면에서 조직이 과도하게 물러지는 등의 문제를 보이는데 이에 트레할로스를 적당량 첨가함으로써 노화 억제를 향상시키고 물성적인 측면과 기호도를 향상시켜 저장성이 우수하고 소비자의 입맛에 적합한 백설기의 제조가 가능하다고 사료된다.

Train induced dynamic response of a pedestrian tunnel under a four-track surface railway for different soil water contents

  • A reinforced concrete pedestrian tunnel is constructed under a four-track surface railway. Heavy rainfall and soil exposure to drying lead to soil with different water content throughout the year. A railway is an open utility that is subject to rainfall without control on the quantity of the water on it and when there is a tunnel under a railway, the water content of the soil around the tunnel is very influential. This research shows the effects of change of water content in the soil around a pedestrian tunnel under a four-track surface railway. The pedestrian tunnel and the soil block around the tunnel are modeled in 3D by the FEM and are studied under the vibrations induced by the moving trains on the four-track surface railway for different soil water contents and the effects of the soil water content on the dynamic behavior of the tunnel and the surrounding soil are demonstrated.

일부 요업사업장의 분진, 결정형 유리규산 및 납의 폭로에 관한 연구 (A Study on Work's Exposure to Dust, Crystalline Free Silica and Lead in Ceramic Industry)

  • In some ceramic industries, worker exposure to dust, crystalline free silica and lead were determined and evaluated. The conclusions are as follows. 1. Crystalline silica in bulk samples was 10.5 % in sanitary ware industry, 9.4 % in tile industry, and 2.1 % in ceramic insulator industry respectively. The free silica content of air filter sample was 8.03 % in table ware industry, 5.59 % in sanitary ware industry, and 1.32 % in ceramic insulator industry. Because silica content in ceramic dust is relatively high, it is should be considered silica as important factor in evaluating for ceramic industry. 2. The silica contents in dust from tile, sanitary ware and table ware industries are above 5%, it should be classified as "Type" 2 dust. 3. The airborne concentration of respirable crystalline silica was $27.9{\mu}g/m^3$ in a sanitary ware factory and $5.8{\mu}g/m^3$ in a ceramic insualtor factory. Three of ten samples sampled the above factories were exceeded the occupational exposure levels, $100{\mu}g/m^3$. 4. Geometric mean(GM) of total dust in 11 factories was $1.00mg/m^3$ and GM of respirable dust concentration in 5 factories was $0.33mg/m^3$. Sanitary ware industry had the highest concentration of total dust, $1.62mg/m^3$ and of respirable dust, $0.88mg/m^3$. 5. Average lead concentration in air was $0.05mg/m^3$ in glazing process of 2 factories manufacturing table ware. Five of ten sample(50%) were exceeded $0.05mg/m^3$. Therefore lead exposure in pottery industry should be considered as important problem.

  • Metarhizium anisopliae (녹강균)는 흰점박이꽃무지에게 질병을 일으키는 곤충 병원성 곰팡이 중 하나이다. 이러한 곰팡이의 병원성은 환경 조건에 의해 영향을 받는다. 녹강균에 대한 흰점박이꽃무지 유충의 민감성을 알기 위해 온도(20℃, 25℃, 30℃), 상대습도(RH 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%), 톱밥 수분함량(40%, 50%, 60%)이 다른 사육 조건에서 유충의 치사율을 확인하였다. 녹강균을 처리한 흰점박이꽃무지 유충의 치사율은 온도에 따라 차이가 나타나지 않았으나, 낮은 상대습도(RH 40%)와 톱밥 수분함량(40%)에서 유충의 치사율이 높았다. 녹강균에 대한 1령, 2령, 3령 유충의 치사율은 1령에서 가장 높게 나타났다.

  • The present study investigated the feasibility of using the ethanolic extract of Hermetia illucens larvae (HIE) as a whitening improvement material. In cell viability assays using B16F1 melanoma cells, no cytotoxicity was recorded up to 200 ㎍·mL-1 of HIE. Moreover, while tyrosinase inhibitory activity increased, melanin content decreased in a dose-dependent manner, indicating that HIE likely inhibited tyrosine-induced intracellular melanin biosynthesis in B16F1 melanoma cells. Therefore, HIE is expected to serve as a potent whitening improvement material.

Influence of Si Addition on Oxide Growth of Al-6 mass%Mg Alloy Melts

  • Influence of Si addition on oxide layer growth of Al-6 mass%Mg alloys in molten state was investigated in this study. After melt holding for 24 h, the melt surface of only Si-free alloy became significantly bumpy, while no considerably oxidized surface was observed even with 1 mass%Si addition. There was no visible change on the appearance of melt surfaces with increasing Si content. As a result of compositional analysis on the melt samples between before and after melt holding, the Si-added alloys nearly maintained their Mg contents even after the melt holding for 24 h. On the other hand, the Mg content in the Si-free alloy showed a great reduction. The bumpy surface on Si-free alloy melt showed a large amount of pores and oxide clusters in its cross-section, while the Si-added alloy had no significantly grown oxide clusters on the surfaces. As a result of compositional analysis on the surfaces, the oxide clusters in Si-free alloy contained a great amount of Mg and oxygen. The oxide layer on the Si-added alloy was divided into Mg-rich and Mg-poor areas and contained certain amounts of Si. Such a mixed oxide layer containing Si would act as a protective layer during the melt holding for a long duration.

Mineral Compositions in the Feces of Some Silkworms

  • This study was carried out to investigate the mineral content of the feces of the $5^th$ instar larvae in a few silkworm species such as a parent domestic silkworm (Jam134), a hybrid (Kumok-jam), the Japanese oak silkworm, and the Chinese oak silkworm. The major minerals of all silkworms throughout all $5^th$ instar larval period are K, P, Mg and Ca, and the result is consistent with the previous study of the mineral content in the mulberry leaves. Although the calcium content decreased sharply at $7^th$ day of the $5^th$ instar, the crude protein content significantly increased at the same age in both domestic silkworms, suggesting a direct relationship between feeding behavior of the silkworms at the larval period and mineral/protein contents. However, this trend was not observed in both oak silkworms. In the comparison of the mineral content among silkworm species, two domestic silkworms were significantly higher in the calcium content compared with two oak silkworms, and the hybrid Kumok-jam was further higher significantly than the feces of parental Jam 143. Excluding the calcium content, overall no significant content variation in other minerals was observed among four silkworm species studied in this study.

Effects of Pellet Moisture Content on the Physical Properties of Vacuum-puffed Yukwa

  • The effects of pellet moisture content on physical properties (expansion ratio, density and breaking strength) of vacuum-puffed Yukwa (non-oil puffed Yukwa) were investigated in this study. The Yukwa was made from the waxy rice steeped at 25 and $30^{\circ}C$ for 3, 5 and 10 days with pellet drying times (6, 8 and 10.5 hr). As the drying time increased from 6 to 10.5 hr at $50^{\circ}C$, the highest value of pellet moisture content (29.4%) was found in the samples made from the steeped waxy rice at $25^{\circ}C$ for 5 days after 6 hr drying, while the lowest value (16.3%) was found at $25^{\circ}C$ for 3 days after 10.5 hr drying. Both redness and yellowness values of vacuum-puffed Yukwa increased as the drying time increased. The expansion ratio of Yukwa was greatly affected by drying time, ranging from 2.07 (26.8% pellet moisture content) to 7.01 (24.0% pellet moisture content). From the data, it can be concluded that the pellet moisture content had a significant influence on the physical characteristics of vacuum-puffed Yukwa. With vacuum puffing condition of 3 min heating and 2 min puffing, the pellets with about 25% moisture content showed higher expansion ratio, and lower density and breaking strength.
