Performance Test of the Urban Transit Maglev Vehicle(UTM-01) in Korea (상전도식자기부상열차의 주행성능시험 및 평가)

  • UTM-01 is the first fall sized maglev test vehicle which is being developed by KIMM and Hyundai Precision and Industrial Co., since 1995. The vehicle employs normal conducting magnets for levitation and single sided linear induction motor for propulsion. The test vehicle has been under tests to assure its required performance since last May 1997. This paper reports various system level test results compared with simple 2 degree of freedom dynamic calculations. Test results include performance of the levitation and guidance system, propulsions system, and the dynamic behavior of the elevated guideway under the passage of the maglev vehicle.

  • In the make-to-order (MTO) manufacturing environment, one of the important issues is setting attainable delivery dates for customer orders, which significantly affects the performance of the MTO manufacturing. Although this topic has received considerable attention in the literature, most of the efforts took a lower level approach that is concerned primarily with the effect of various delivery date assignment methods on the relative performance of some dispatching rules. This paper proposes the delivery date decision support system which takes a higher level approach of integrating the marketing and production planning functions with the consideration of the current capacity and the workload smoothing. The proposed system has been implemented in a Rotating Machinery Shop and the results of the implementation showed good performance.

  • This study presents the preform injection molding of the injection stretch-blow molding process for PET bottles. The numerical analysis of the injection molding of a preform is considered in this paper using CAE with a view to minimize the warpage. In order to determine the design parameters and processing conditions in injection molding, it is very important to establish the numerical model with physical phenomenon. In this study, a three dimensional model has been introduced for the purpose and flow simulations of filling, post-filling and cooling process are carried out. The simulations resulted in the warpage in good agreement with the measurements. Also, from the result of numerical analysis, we appropriate -ly predicted the warpage, deformation and thickness distribution along the preform wall.

  • According to the needs of change to hybrid, fuel cell and electric vehicle, and to the increasing demand for safety and eco-friendliness, the necessity of Electro-Mechanical Brake(EMB) is being increased. But, one of the most important problems for realizing EMB to the practical use is that the required motor power for braking is too high. So the high braking efficient EMB is required. In recent years, the Electronic Wedge Brake(EWB) is noticeable for the high braking efficiency. In this research, we examine the improvable matter of the recent published EWB, and we propose the improved mechanism and the cost effective control method using this mechanism. And we test these feasibility by experiment and discuss these meaning and effect.

  • 본 논문에서는 중소형 전동차에 활용하기 위한 DC모터 구동회로를 설계하였다. 설계된 구동 회로를 활용하여 자체발진회로의 스위칭 신호를 갖는 트랜스포머를 이용하여 연속적으로 구동할 수 있다. 또한 DC 모터 최대속도 동작시, 제어회로의 기준전압 값을 삼각파보다 높게 유지할 수 있고 모터 구동 FET를 항상 온 값을 가지도록 하여 최대출력을 얻을 수 있도록 해준다. 설계된 구동회로를 장착한 250W급 DC모터속도 컨트롤러를 활용하여 소형전동차 구동시험을 실시한 결과, DC모터의 전진 및 후진 속도를 연속 가변 할 수 있음을 확인하고 그 특성을 검증하였다.

  • 본 논문은 복합사이클 발전플랜트의 폐열회수 보일러 최적운전 및 최적설계에 대한 새로운 접근 방법을 도출하기 위해 폐열회수 보일러에서 발생되는 증기로 증기터빈을 구동하는 하부사이클 효율을 검토하였다. 열역학 제1법칙 해석을 통해 하부사이클 에너지 평형을 검토하였고, 열역학 제2법칙을 통해 엑서지 평형을 검토하였다. 하부사이클 효율이 최대가 되는 폐열회수 보일러를 설계하기 위해서는 열역학 제1법칙을 해석할 경우 하부사이클 전체를 해석하여야 함을 알 수 있다. 하지만, 열역학 제2법칙을 통한 엑서지 해석을 행할 경우 하부사이클 효율이 최대가 되는 증발온도와 폐여회수 보일러에서 소모되는 엑서지가 최소가 되는 점이 일치함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 본 논문을 통해 폐열회수 보일러에서 소모되는 엑서지 해석을 통해 하부사이클 효율이 최대가 되는 폐열회수 보일러 최적화가 가능함을 알 수 있다.

Study on Concurrent Simulation Technique of EPS and A Full Car Model (EPS와 완전차량모델의 동시시뮬레이션 기술에 관한 연구)

  • It is well known that most power steering systems obtain the power by a hydraulic mechanism. Therefore, it consumes more energy because the oil power should be sustained all the times. Recently, to solve this problem the Electric Power System(EPS) or Motor Driven Power System(MDPS) has widely equipped in passenger vehicles. In this research the concurrent simulation technique for an EPS system with MATLAB/SIMULINK and a full vehicle model has been developed. The dynamic responses of vehicle chassis and steering system are evaluated. Then, a full vehicle model interacted with EPS control is concurrently simulated with an impulsive steering wheel torque input to analyze the stability of 'free control' or hands free motion for SUV. This integrated method allows engineers to reduce the prototype testing cost and to shorten the developing period.

  • 본 논문에서는 37kw이하 공용코어용 고효율 유도전동기 시제품 제작하였다. 시제품을 제작하기위해서는 전동기설계 및 해석이 필요하다. 방법으로는 전동기기본설계, 실험계획법, 등가회로법, 유한요소법 등이 있다. 이중에서 실험계획법에는 최적설계, 주요인자, 최적영역 등으로 나누어 분석할 수 있다. 설계 및 해석한 결과를 가지고 특성을 분석하고 재료비 및 효율을 비교하게 된다. 이를 바탕으로 5.5kw, 7.5kw, 11kw, 15kw 4극, 6극 공용코어용 고효율 유도전동기 시제품을 제작하였다.

  • This paper presents a simple torque estimation method and switching angle control of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) using Neural Network (NN). SRM has gaining much interest as industrial applications due to the simple structure and high efficiency. Adaptive switching angle control is essential for the optimal driving of SRM because of the driving characteristic varies with the load and speed. The proper switching angle which can increase the efficiency was investigated in this paper. NN was adapted to regulate the switching angle and nonlinear inductance modelling. Experimental result shows the validity of the switching angle controller.

  • SRM (switched reluctance motor) provides an excellent adjustable speed and torque characteristics. SRM has the possibility of maintaining full power over a wide speed range. So, many attempts are being done from home appliances to industrial applications. Especially, a traction drive of an SRM is one of a good application for it's DC-series characteristic. However, because of the switching mechanism and reluctance torque, it has some disadvantage of noise and vibration. It is difficult to adopt to an appliance demanding silency. Performance and noise tests with 6/4 and 12/8 SRM were excuted to compare the characteristics.
