Fault Diagnosis System for Industrial Motor Drives (산업용 전동기 구동장치의 고장진단 시스템)

  • To meet the requirements of high performance and reliability as a industrial motor drive, we developed an integrated oil-line fault diagnosis and monitoring system which consists of DSP-based controller and PC-based MMI (Man-machine interface) program. The dedicated controller performs real-lime fault detections and protections. The MMI program monitors the on-line fault status of the drive system and offers full explanations of the fault name(WHAT?), deducible causes of the fault operation(WHY?), and chock points (HOW?) based upon the experiences of the expert. Also the TRACE data which was stored just before and after the accident can be scrutinized using MMI tools.

  • This paper deals with method to measure the user's driving-will force and to control the power-assisted wheelchair. To solve this problem, we extract the user's driving-will by using the mathematical motor model. And then, we get the linear and angular velocity at the center of the vehicle. Wheel velocities are also measured from center velocity. Finally, power-assisted electric wheelchairs are controlled by these data. Here all processes are verified by simulation.

  • This paper presents a SPMSM servo motor drive system using high performance TMS320 F281T DSP for the industrial application. This high performance DSP contains some special peripheral circuits such as PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) waveform generation circuit, Quadrature Encoder Pulse (QEP) generation circuit and Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) circuit. In this paper, a servo drive control system is constructed using high performance DPS for the overall system cost reduction and the size minimization.

  • In general, the forklift driven by DC motor drive system is used in the industrial field. Classically, the DC motor is controlled by current control using proportion control method, by output torque following the load on the plane like a manual operation. But in the industrial field, the forklift is demanded the robust drive mode. Some cases of the mode, there aretrouble in torque control following slope capacity. The control is sensitive concerning about slope angle and output speed, various control method is studied for stability of speed control. In this paper, I apply current control for the self-tuning using the fuzzy controller to obtain robust, stable speed control and use stable, high efficiency control using DSP as main controller for high speed processor, embody dynamic characteristic of control compared the PI controller to the fuzzy controller.

  • This paper proposes a sensorless control method of BLDC motors using line-to-line back-EMFs. Typical sensorless control methods have various problems such as the difficulty in operation at low speed and difficulties in application and so forth. However, the control method using line-to-line back-EMFs that this paper proposes solved not only such problems but also problems of noise and difficulty of commutation detection. The method is to divide line-to-line back EMF into the constant. With 550[W] BLDC motor driving system, simulations and experiments have been carried out for the verification of the proposed control method.

  • Generally, the required control functions for the industrial auto trimming sewing machines are the sewing speed control with pedal input, the up/down stopping-position control of the needle, the automatic sewing according to the memorized sewing pattern including the number of stitches, and etc. We developed a new type of AC servo motor controller, which suffices for all the above functions. The developped controller is working well, and the performances are very good for the practical use.

  • In the present paper, a numerical algorithm for the kinematic analysis of a MacPherson strut motor-vehicle suspension system is developed. The kinematic analysis is carried out in terms of the rectangular Cartesian coordinates of some defined points in the links and at the joints. The presented formulation in terms of this system of coordinates is simple and involves only elementary mathematics. The resulting constraint equations are mostly either linear or quadratic in the rectangular Cartesian coordinates. The proposed formulation eliminates the need to write redundant constraints and allows to solve a reduced system of equations which leads to better accuracy and a reduction in computing time. The algorithm is applied to solve the initial positions as well as the finite displacement, velocity and acceleration problems for the MacPherson strut motor-vehicle suspension system.

  • This paper is about the development of 80[kW] IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) drive system for an electric vehicle. MTPA(Maximum Torque per Ampere) operation and flux-weakening operation for the optimal torque control of the IPMSM are presented. In this system, the torque control of the IPMSM is achieved by using the look-up table, which gives d- and q-aixs current references for the given torque command in the MTPA operation and flux-weakening operation regions. This look-up table is made by current injection tests, and from which the motor parameters are also estimated. The proposed system is verified by the experiment on the electric vehicle drive system, which consists of an 80[kW] IPMSM and an IGBT inverter.

  • This paper proposed a new method for the measurement of optical encoder. So far several methods were used for the encoder measurements, there were noise problems and needed many space to realize it. Specially, it is more serious under the multi-motor system. In this paper, we adapted the PIC microcontroller and replaced the TTL logics with the PIC software. Therefore, the effects of noise can be reduced, and we can realize the measuring method for the optical encoder under multi-motor system within one millisecond time base.

  • As the modern technology of continuous casting plant is focused on improvement of slab quality, the control system of strand driven roll which has positive effect is investigated in this paper. An irregular distribution of withdrawal force gives rise to horizontal crack in high and middle grade carbon steel. Based on the basic understanding on design concept of high technology company, monitoring the withdrawal force distribution of strand driven roll and analysis of the control system was Performed at continuous casters of POSCO. The control algorithm of withdrawal force distribution for A.C motor vector control, which was derived from above study and had been applied for POSCO Kwangyang 1-4 continuous casting plant, is presented.
