  • Future war needs a lot of changes for military organization. In this circumstance, it is importance the role of the Military Equipment Command Separation (MECS). In case of Korea Marine Corps, in spite of being MECS, Marine Corps has formed supply chain depended on Amy and Navy even it. Thus we proposed a new SCM of Marine Corps with Sense and Response concept. There are many problems and arguments to implement of new SCM. Therefore it is essential solving the problems but we don't know core problems and right solving directions. So, In this study, we present core problems deduction and selection of solving direction using TP(Thinking Process).

A Study on improvement of plating equipment for fire prevention (도금 공장의 화재 예방을 위한 도금장비 개선에 관한 연구)

  • A number of plating companies have been exposed to the risk of fire due to unexpected temperature increasing of water or other reasons in a plating bath. Since the companies are not able to forecast the unexpected temperature increasing of plating bath and most of raw materials in the bath have low ignition temperature, it is easy to be exposed to the risk of fire. Thus, in previous study, we tried to monitor and notice the dangerous change of temperature of water immediately to prevent the risk of fire from plating process. However, unfortunately previous studies were not able to shut out the fundamental cause of fire since bath temperature sensor can detect air temperature when the level sensor was malfunctioned. In this paper we developed the Teflon heater which contains a built in temperature sensor and improved plating equipment system. Teflon heater is improved using Pt $100{\Omega}$ sensor which can detect until $600^{\circ}C$. When the bath temperature sensor detects over $60^{\circ}C$ or the Teflon heater sensor detects over $240^{\circ}C$ they temporarily shut down the heater to control temperature. Also relay completely shuts down main power when detects instant temperature is detected over 5% of $240^{\circ}C$ by the heater sensor to prevent teflon melting down and fire spreads. Developed plating equipment system can monitor a real time temperature in the teflon tube and bath water. Therefore we think the proposed plating equipment can eliminate the possibility of fire in plating processes fundamentally.

Rock Fragmentation Assessment of a Drill Bit by Hopkinson Bar Percussion Test (홉킨스바 타격시험을 통한 드릴비트의 암반파쇄 분석)

  • The percussion rate and spacing of the button of drill bit are very important in maximizing the drilling efficiency. Therefore, a series of percussion tests using Hopkinson bar system was carried out to assess the fragmentation performance against the beat rate and spacing of a drill bit. First, single percussion test complemented with numerical simulation was performed to analyze rock fragmentation phenomenon and to describe the fragmentation process. Next, multiple percussion test that repetitively strike the rock sample moving at predetermined rate was carried out to predict drilling efficiency against the button spacing. After the tests, the fragmented volume of the rock was measured by laser scanner and the drilling performance was analyzed using the calculated percussive energy and measured negative volume. Based on the results, the single impact performance of drill bit with 102 mm diameter was predicted.

An Investigation on Influence of Vibration Noise in Cooling Tower on Precision Equipments (산업용 냉각탑의 진동소음이 정밀장비에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구)

  • Cooling towers have been installed on rooftops or outside of buildings and widely applied to control the indoor temperature in residential areas and buildings. However, the noise and vibration resulting from their operation may cause problems in adjacent buildings. The purpose of this study is to measure the noise and vibration of an industrial cooling tower located adjacent to industrial plants and to investigate its influence on the surroundings according to an authorized evaluation standard. Further, in order to measure the effect of the vibration of the tower on the precision equipment inside the plant, an experiment is conducted to measure the vibration of the ground in the plant and the targeted precision equipment. The measurement results indicate that the noise in the cooling tower is 4 to 9 dB(A) higher than the maximum level defined in the standard of 68dB(A). The effect of the vibration of the tower on the precision equipment is comparatively minimal, because that in the supporting frame of the building is weaker than that on the floor where the precision equipment is located.   • This paper considers a facility location problem, which is concerned with locating facilities on a supply chain network and installing the associated equipments at the facilities to meet a given set of demands. The objective function is to minimize the sum of setup cost (facility opening cost and equipment installation cost), operation cost, and distribution cost. For the equipments, various choices of equipment modes need to be determined. Moreover, in the problem, overwork is allowed each facility but at expensive operation cost. The proposed problem is characterized as being NP-hard problem, so that a heuristic algorithm is derived. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, computational experiments with various numerical instances are conducted.

  • We developed a Microcurrent acupuncture point treatment equipment using micro-controller AVR. This equipment can generate a sine wave, triangle wave, square wave and DC. The frequency range of waves like the sine wave and the triangle wave is 1 - 320 Hz and the output range of DC is $40-200\;{\mu}A$. The duration is controllable between a minute to 30 minutes.

  • For making a lead terminal(condenser, resistor etc.), it is the matter that lead wire have to be supplied smooth without twisting and curving when it is supplied to the further processing (cutting, forming, attach process) after it being forwarded. The purpose of this study is to solve the winding claims of lead wire through the structural expansion of winding equipment to which the improvement of packing equipment to forward safely and supply the lead wire and QFD method are applied. The results of this study is available to solve the technical problem caused by the installation of the existing flyer system for the prevention of twisting and can expect the quality assurance as it prevents the claim(surface fault) caused by the bumping among lead wire which are involved in the packing equipment in its moving stage.

  • The introduction of new equipments to strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises is one of pretty important factors. Enterprises introducing new equipments strengthen competitiveness through productivity increasing, high quality maintenance, inventory reduction, improved design and production interface, simple scheduling process, low scrap rate, rework reduction, etc. Managers will work out the best equipment-replacing strategy through the appropriate combination of potential cost attributes and qualitative attributes difficult to quantify in accordance with the business purpose. This study is to present a method to select an equipment-replacing alternative through the decision-making model of Analytic Hierarchy Process in consideration of the differences of cost flow of the alternatives, taking into consideration tangible attributes and strategic intangible attributes.

  • European Union Member States shall ensure that, from 1 July 2006, new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market does not contain mercury, cadmium, lead, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls(PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDE) (by Directive 2002/95/EC of The European Parliament and the Council of 27 january, 2003 on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment ). So, It is important to develop lead free solder and to assure the reliability of appliance. But lead free solder(i.e. Sn-3Ag-0.5Cu) have some problems such as lift off, whisker, migration and crack, etc. In this paper we discuss the reliability assurance method in lead free solder and appliance.
