This paper presents a design of LLC resonant converter IC for LED backlight unit based on PFM/PWM dual-mode feedback. Dual output LLC resonant architecture with a single inductor is proposed, where the master output is controlled by the PFM and slave output is controlled by the PWM. To regulate the master output PFM is used as feedback to control the frequency of the power switch. On the other hand, PWM feedback is used to control the pulse width of the power switch and to regulate the slave output. This chip is fabricated in 0.35um 2P3M BC(Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS) Process and the die area is $2.3mm{\times}2.2mm$. Current consumptions is 26mA from 5V supply.
In this paper, To take advantage a variety of DC power as the boost DC-DC converter design specifications through the inductor L and capacitor C through PSPICE to calculate the best estimate of the value. In this paper, various spiral zeroth-order resonators are proposed for wireless power transmission. Since a zerothorder resonance(ZOR) mode of meta-material transmission lines has the characteristic of an infinite wavelength, its frequency is independent of physical length. Also, to obtain high transmission efficiencies high-Q resonators and strong coupling coefficient between coupled resonators are required. Therefore, the resonators consist of spiral inductor and lumped capacitor to use the ZOR mode and they are optimized via parametric study and circuit analysis for a high-Q resonator design. The optimized resonators are simulated and compared with a conventional spiral resonator and one of them was fabricated and measured. The fabricated one has a dimension of $20cm{\times}20cm{\times}8cm$($0.009{\lambda}_0{\times}0.009_{\lambda}_0{\times}0.004{\lambda}_0$) and the transmission efficiency of 80 % is measured at 13.56 MHz at transmitted distance of 40 cm.

A DC-DC Converter operates in CCM(Continuous Coundcution Mode), DCM(Discontinuous Conduction Mode), CRM(Critical Conduction Mode). The CRM is boundary between CCM and DCM. If a DC-DC converter is designed to operate in CRM, its inductor volume can decrease and power loss which caused by switch and diode can decrease. In this paper, the DC-DC converter which operates in CRM is applied to a solar array regulator(SAR) for the satellite. The switching frequency of the CRM boost SAR changes according to input and output condition. The switching frequency limit logic is applied to limit the maximum switching frequency. Meanwhile, the small signal transfer function of the CRM boost SAR is simple, so the controller design is also simple. In this paper, the small signal transfer function from control reference to solar array voltage is induced. And the voltage controller is designed based on the small signal transfer function. Finally, the CRM boost SAR is verified by simulation.

In this paper, we propose a transformer of alternating voltage source utilizing a semiconductor, operating in bidirectional fashion. Transformer is a device transferring energy by inductive coupling between its winding circuits. Conventional transformer is a device, composed of a primary coil and a secondary coil, transforming an alternating voltage. The system we propose is designed with a single circuit transforming the level of voltage signal in two ways; from the source to the load, and vice versa. For semiconductor switches, the NPN transistor is connected to the alternating voltage source terminal, and emitter terminal is connected to the inductor in the system as an energy storage element. The control signal is applied to the base terminal of the semiconductors. We have shown that the system we propose, by adopting only one circuit, drives an alternating voltage transformer that changes the amplitudes of voltage signal in reciprocal way.
A bandwidth-enhanced ultra-wide band (UWB) CMOS balun-LNA is implemented as a part of a software defined radio (SDR) receiver which supports multi-band and multi-standard. The proposed balun-LNA is composed of a single-to-differential converter, a differential-to-single voltage summer with inductive shunt peaking, a negative feedback network, and a differential output buffer with composite common-drain (CD) and common-source (CS) amplifiers. By feeding the single-ended output of the voltage summer to the input of the LNA through a feedback network, a wideband balun-LNA exploiting negative feedback is implemented. By adopting a source follower-based inductive shunt peaking, the proposed balun-LNA achieves a wider gain bandwidth. Two LNA design examples are presented to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed approach. The LNA I adopts the CS amplifier with a common gate common source (CGCS) balun load as the S-to-D converter for high gain and low noise figure (NF) and the LNA II uses the differential amplifier with the ac-grounded second input terminal as the S-to-D converter for high second-order input-referred intercept point (IIP2). The 3 dB gain bandwidth of the proposed balun-LNA (LNA I) is above 5 GHz and the NF is below 4 dB from 100 MHz to 5 GHz. An average power gain of 18 dB and an IIP3 of -8 ~ -2 dBm are obtained. In simulation, IIP2 of the LNA II is at least 5 dB higher than that of the LNA I with same power consumption.

This paper proposes an energy storage-assisted, series-connected module-integrated power conversion system that integrates a photovoltaic power conditioner and a charge balancing circuit. In conventional methods, a photovoltaic power conditioner and a cell-balancing circuit are needed for photovoltaic systems with energy storage devices, but they cause a complex configuration and high cost. Moreover, an imbalanced output voltage of the module-integrated converter for PV panels can be a result of partial shading. Partial shading can lead to the fault condition of the boost converter in shaded modules and high voltage stresses on the devices in other modules. To overcome these problems, a bidirectional buck-boost converter with an integrated magnetic device operating for a charge-balancing circuit is proposed. The proposed circuit has multiple secondary rectifiers with inductors sharing a single magnetic core, which works as an inductor for the main bidirectional charger/discharger of the energy storage. The secondary rectifiers operate as a cell-balancing circuit for both energy storage and the series-connected multiple outputs of the module-integrated converter. The operating principle of the cell-balancing power conversion circuit and the power stage design are presented and validated by PSIM simulation for analysis. A hardware prototype with equivalent photovoltaic modules is implemented for verification. The results verify that the modularized photovoltaic power conversion system in the output series with an energy storage successfully works with the proposed low-cost bidirectional buck-boost converter comprising a single magnetic device.

In this study, we propose characteristics improvement methods according to via hole plating method for FBAR Duplexer with US PCS($T_x$:1850MHz~1910MHz, $R_x$:1930MHz~1990MHz) bandwidth which is used for wireless systems. Also, we designed and fabricated 3.8*3.8*1.8mm size microminiature FBAR Duplexer based on this proposal. First of all, in this study, we fabricated pentagon shape resonators by different size to make filter combination, and their quality factor(Q) are 687 with 6.6% of $k_{eff}^2$. Using this resonators, designed 3*2Type $T_x$ filter and 3*4Type $R_x$ filter. The transmission line, which works as phase shifter, is designed with $210{\mu}m$ in width and 18mm in length Stripline type. Inductor, which is used for matching component, is designed with width of $75{\mu}m$, a technically achievable minimum width. And adopted plating method of filling via hole with conductive epoxy for improved grounding and thermal conductivity. Using these configuration with all of the matching component values, we found Duplexer characteristics of -1.57dB ~ -1.73dB in insertion loss, -56dB in attenuation at 1850MHz~1910MHz of $T_x$ band. Also, found -2.71 dB ~ -3.23dB in insertion loss, -58dB in attenuation at 1930MHz~1990MHz of $R_x$ band.

In this paper, a Step-down CMOS DC-DC Converter using low power switched capacitor method is designed in a 0.5 ${\mu}m$ technology for the integration of devices. Conventional DC-DC converter is used inductor that can store energy in a magnetic field but have low efficiency because power consumption is caused by magnetic flux. And there were problems with size, weight and price to integrate chip. In this paper, a proposed Inductorless step-down CMOS DC-DC converter of low power using SC method is designed in a 0.5um technology to solve these problems. Designed DC-DC converter have 96% power efficiency with 200kHz frequency by using cadence simulation.
