On Induction Principles in Frege's Grundgesetze and in Systems Thereafter (프레게의 Grundgesetze 와 그 이후의 시스템에서의 귀납법 고찰)

  • We compare the approaches to natural numbers and the induction principles in Frege's Grundgesetze and in systems thereafter. We start with an illustration of Frege's approach and then explain the use of induction principles in Zermelo-Fraenkel set theory and in modern type theories such as Calculus of Inductive Constructions. A comparison among the different approaches to induction principles is also given by analyzing them in respect of predicativity and impredicativity.

  • This paper represents the generating principles of the doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind power system and developes a simulation model of DFIG by using PSCAD/EMTDC. In addition, this paper analyzes the steady state operation and the transient operation during the voltage sags in the power common coupling. The voltage sags are occurred by three phase line-to-ground faults and full-voltage startup of an induction motor in the simulation.

Potential Induction of Quinone Reductase Activity of Natural Products in Cultured Murine Hepa1c1c7 Cells

  • NAD(P)H:quinone reductase (QR), known as DT-diaphorase, is a kind of detoxifying phase II metabolic enzyme catalyzing hydroquinone formation by two electron reduction pathway from quinone type compounds, and thus facilitating excretion of quinoids from human body. With the usefulness of QR induction activity assay system for the modulation of toxicants, in the course of searching for cancer chemopreventive agents from natural products, the methanolic extracts of approximately two hundreds of oriental medicines were primarily evaluated using the induction potential of quinone reductase (QR) activity in cultured murine Hepa1c1c7 cells. As a result, several extracts including Hordeum vulgare, Momordica cochinchinensis, Strychnos ignatii, Houttuynia cordata, and Polygala japonica were found to significantly induce QR activity. In addition, the methylene chloride fraction of H. vulgare, one major dietary food source, showed potent induction of QR activity $(CD=6.4{\mu}g/ml)$. Further study for isolation of active principles from these lead extracts is warranted for the discovery of novel cancer chemopreventive agents.

  • In this paper, a simple power control scheme for a constant frequency Class-D inverter with a variable duty cycle is proposed. It is more suitable and acceptable for high- frequency induction heating (IH) jar applications. The proposed control scheme has the advantages of not only wide power regulation range but also ease of control output power. Also it can achieve a stable and efficient Zero-Voltage-Switching (ZVS) in a whole load range. The control principles of the proposed method are described in detail and its validity is verified through simulated and experimental results on 42.8kHz IGBT for induction heating rated on 1.6kW with constant frequency variable power.

  • This paper deals with thermal characteristic analysis of induction motors for machine tool spindle for motion error prediction. Firstly, the inverse design of general induction motors for machine tool spindle has been performed by design principles. Characteristics considering VVVF inverter of induction motors were analyzed. Secondary, power loss and thermal characteristics of induction motors analyzed by equivalent thermal resistance model from Motor-CAD S/W. To develop a second-order fitted power-loss distribution model for the constant-torque operating range of the induction motor, we employed the design of experiment and response surface methodology techniques. Finally, the analysis results were experimentally verified, and the validity of the proposed analysis method was confirmed.

  • This paper presents a study on the cycloconverter with a LC resonant circuit for a induction motor drive which keeps the Input displacement factor at 1.0 by controlling real and reactive power independently under any load conditions. The input and the output current waveforms are sinusoid, and consequently Input power factor is nealy 1.0. In this paper, the operating principles of this cycloconverter, the control algorithms, the waveform analyses, and the characteristics of the system are described. The volts/hertz control of the induction motor is experimented, and the reasonability of this proposal is verified.

A Novel Wound Rotor Type for Brushless Doubly Fed Induction Generator

  • The rotor configuration of the brushless doubly fed induction generator (BDFIG) plays an important role in its performance. In order to make the magnetomotive force (MMF) space vector in one set rotor windings to couple both magnetic fields with different pole-pair and have low resistance and inductance, this paper presents a novel wound rotor type for BDFIG with low space harmonic contents. In accordance with the principles of slot MMF harmonics and unequal element coils, this novel rotor winding is designed to be composed of three-layer unequal-pitch unequal-turn coils. The optimal design process and rules are given in detail with an example. The performance of a 700kW 2/4 pole-pair prototype with the proposed wound rotor is analyzed by the finite element simulation and experimental test, which are also carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed wound rotor configuration.

It is more suitable and acceptable for high-frequency induction heating (IH) jar applications. The proposed control scheme has the advantages of not only wide power regulation range but also ease to control output power. Also it can achieve the stable and efficient Zero-Voltage-Switching (ZVS) in whole load range. The control principles of proposed method are described in detail and its validity is verified trough simulations results on 38.5kHz IGBT for induction heating rated on 1.6kW with constant frequency variable power.

  • This paper presents a cycloconverter with an LC resonant circuit for an induction motor drive. The cycloconverter can keep input displacement factor at 1.0 by independently controlling real and reactive power under any load conditions. Furthermore it can keep power factor at about 1.0 since input and output current waveforms are nearly sinusoidal. Since it uses high frequency resonant circuit for commutation source, it can produce an output voltage of hundreds of hertz. Since it is also possible to make a system of high capacity using the cycloconverter, it is appropriate to drive motors with high speed and high capacity as well as general purpose motors, In this paper, we describe the operating principles of the cycloconverter and power control algorithms, and analyze its waveforms and present its characteristics. Expermental results are shown for the volts/hertz control of the induction motor and the validity of the proposed model is verified.

  • We present voltage-source inverter for variable speed of washing machine. In the case of previous washing machines only on/off contol of motor was satisfied but these days the desire of customers moves to more silent and energy saving machine. Therefore many white goods manufacturers consider variable driving methods of motor. Nowadays variable speed Induction motors powered by inverters are becoming more and more popular. In this paper the principles of constant V/F control of Induction motor used in washing machine and space vector PWM technique are reviewd. Implementation issues such as command voltage generation, switching pattern determination, speed and power measurement are also presented. Experimental results are included in the end of the paper.
