Simulation and Parameter Identification of Induction Machine in Load Modeling based on the Static Circuit Analysis (정태회로해석에 의한 전력부하로서의 유도전동기 시뮬레이션 및 파라메터 식별)

  • This paper presents a static circuit model for static ant dynamic simulation of induction motors and identification of motor parameters. Instead of usual T-circuits, equivalent ${\pi}$-circuit has been proposed so that power Inputs into motor terminals can very easily calculated with very well known load flow method. It has been shown that, with wide range variation of applied voltage and frequency, successful static simulations can be performed and further the proposed static model can be used to simulate dynamic characteristics. Finally it is shown also that motor parameters can easily be identified based on the proposed static circuit.

  • Voltage unbalance will be generated by the load unbalance operation such as combination operation of single & three phase load and current unbalance will be more severe by the deteriorated voltage quality. Under the these unbalance conditions, all power electronic converters used in different types of electronic systems can increase harmonic disturbances by injecting harmonic currents directly into the feeder grid of three phase 4-wire. Harmonic current may cause torque to decrease. it may also overheat or become noisy and torque oscillation in the rotor can lead to mechanical resonance and vibration. This paper presents a scheme on the characteristics of induction motor under the combination of linear & non-linear loads at the three phase 4-wire power distribution system by the unbalance and harmonic components. It was able to confirm that the number of torque pulsation decreased and torque ripple values increased by the harmonics that reduction was difficult by five harmonics filters at additional driving time of single-phase non-linear load.

  • PID Controller is widely used as automatic equipment for industry. However, when a system has various characters, parameter decision and tuning for accurate control is a hard task. In this paper, expert auto-tuning PID controller using PLC is presented as away of solving this problem. Expert auto tuning algorithm is based on Ziegler-Nichols step response and expert knowledge. The test of control performance is carried out in practical speed control of Induction Motor in variable load, the experimental results suggest its superior performance.

  • A programmable dymanometer is prosed where the user can define the steady-state and inertial torque-speed characteristic of the load. Rotating machinert can be tested on this dynamometer to determine their transient and steady-state characteristics with a pratical load. The system uses proportional-integrtal(PI)controllers to control a three-phase induction motor using indirect field orientation.

  • In this paper, a quasi-sliding mode (QSM) control with load observer is discussed for field-oriented induction motor speed drive. The proposed QSM control, which is defined in the discrete time domain and act with the load torque observer eliminating impacted load torque, restricts the bound of chattering within specified band. With this strategy, we can obtain fast dynamics without overshoot and robustness to parameter variation and disturbance. The proposed scheme is verified by digital simulation.

  • This paper designed a robust control of an induction motor using a disturbance cancellation observer of a feedforward control. The speed response of conventional PI controller characteristic is affected by variations of load torque disturbance. In the proposed system, the speed control characteristic using a feedforward control isn't affected by a load torque disturbance. High speed calculation and processing for vector control is carried out by ADMC300 digital signal processor. Validity of the proposed control method is verified through simulation and experimental result.

  • The equivalent circuit of linear induction motor is generally expressed as the same that of rotary induction motor. However, it is almost impossible to perform the no-load test for LIM, because it needs a special equipment for synchronous speed. Therefore, a new method is reqnired to calculate the performance of the LIM without the no-load test. In this paper, The new method which does not need no-load test for the chanracteristics analysis of LIM is proposed. The equivalent circuit of LIM is chosen and the method if determining its constants from results of the lock test is discussed. The calculated results were satisfied by compare with experimental and conventional method results.

  • This paper describes the variable speed drive of an induction motor by the line commutated inverter, which is operated in the forced commutation mode from start-up to operating point of load commutation. A novel forced-commutation circuit is proposed in this paper. The selection range of leading condenser to decide load commutation starting point is simulated by the sampling data of a general purpose IM and a high speed IM. The experiment to drive IM by a line commutated inverter with the proposed forced commutated circuits is performed. There was no problem in driving IM from standstill to starting point of load commutation by a line commutated inverter with forced commutation.

  • This paper described a robust control of an induction motor using a disturbance cancellation observer of a feedforward control with Matlab simulink.   • In this paper, through the theoretical study on reducing method and analysis of stray load loss of induction motor, we suggest the improved design considering the slot combination, skew, air gap and manufacturing method. For verifying the suggested design, the test was performed by IEEE 112. As a result, the reducing technology on the stray load loss was established.
