  • In vector control technique, stator currents of an induction motor are transformed to equivalent d-q currents in reference frame consist of d and q axis, each of which is coincide with flux and torque direction respectively. In this paper, the new algorithm is suggested where the stator current through an induction motor torque is monitored by using a vector control method where an additional equipment is not need. The G-programming is used to apply the suggested algorithm in the experiment and this is applied to an actual system to monitor the torque value of an induction motor on real time. To solve the vibration trouble of estimated torque caused from an unbalanced real rotating speed of an induction motor and measured rotating speed by suggesting the reconstructed in a method based on measurement current signal. This produced system testifies an accuracy of an induction motor through the experiment by comparing the reference value of the control method.

  • Sensorless speed estimation in induction motor systems is one of the most control engineers. Based on the estimated speed the vector control has been applied to the high precision torque control however most speed estimation methods use adaptive scheme so that it takes long time to estimate the speed. Thus the adaptive estimation scheme is not effective to the induction motor which requires short sampling time. In this paper a new linearized equation of induction motor system is proposed and a sensorless speed estimation algorithm based on observation techniques is developed. First the nonlinear induction motor equation is linearized at an equilibrium point. Second a proportional integral(PI) observer is applied to estimate the speed state in the induction motor system. Finally simulation results will assure the effectiveness of the new linearized equation and the sensorless estimation algorithm by using PI observer in the nonlinear induction motor system.

  • In difference with the rotary type electrical machinery, the single-sided linear induction motor(SLIM) that generates the direct thrust, is widely used for the operation system of electrified railroad, lope-less elevation system, conveyer system, and so on. The operational principle of single-sided linear induction motor is constructively similar to the general rotary Induction motor It Is difficult to realize the complicate linear induction motor which is applied space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM) system, but widely used in vector motor control system or servo control system because of its high performance in current control. In this paper, we has modeled the dynamic characteristic analyzing methode, and calculated efficiently the end effect by using equivalent circuit methode in the operating linear Induction motor control system.

Vector Control of Induction Motors using Optimal Efficiency Control

  • This paper presents the control algorithm for maximum efficiency drives of an induction motor system with the high dynamic performance. This system uses a simple model of the induction motor that includes equations of the iron losses. The model, which only requires the parameters of the induction motor, is referred to a field-oriented frame. The minimum point of the input power can be obtained at the steady state condition. The proposed optimal efficiency control algorithm calculates the reference torque and flux currents for the vector control of the induction motors. A 32 bit floating point TMS320C32 DSP chip implements the drive system with the efficiency optimization controller. The results show the effectiveness of the control strategy Proposed for the induction motor drive.

  • This paper proposes a new design and implementation of multi-protocol IED for networked control system of multi-induction motor in industrial fields. The experimental multi-induction motor based multi-protocol IED of Modbus/LonTalks/TCP/IP module is designed and fabricated. This article addresses issues in architecture of LonWorks/Ethernet sever, embedded processors architecture for converting Modbus protocol to LonTalks protocol, integrating preconfigured software, and Internet technologies. It is also verified that the multi-induction motor control and monitoring system using LonWorks/Ethernet server have available, interoperable, reliable performance characteristics from the experimental results, especially, the seamless integration of TCP/IP networks with control networks allows access to any control point from anywhere. Thus, the results provide available technical data for remote distributed motor control system of industrial field or building microgrid with LonWorks BAS.

  • In this research an induction motor vector control system was developed using Simulink and RTW(Real Time Workshop). On the Simulink window, control system is designed in the form of block diagrams, program codes are produced automatically with the RTW, then c compiler compiles the program codes. With this automatic real time program producing mechanism rapid prototyping is realized without the time-consuming manual program coding procedures.   • This paper proposes the effective compensation method of the rotor time constant of induction motor. An indirect vector control method is highly dependent on the motor parameters. To solve the problem of performance degradation due to parameter variation in an indirect vector control of induction motor, we compensate the rotor time constant by current error feedback. The proposed method is a simple on-line rotor time constant compensation method using the information from terminal voltages and currents. As the current error, difference between current command and estimated current, approaches to zero, the value of rotor time constant in an indirect vector controller follows the real value of induction motor. This scheme is valid transient region as well as steady state region regardless of low or high speed. This method is verified by computer simulation. For this, we constructed the simulation model of induction motor, indirect vector controller and current regulated PWM (CRPWM) voltage source inverter (VSI) using SIMULINK in MATLAB.
