  • Study explores the effect of the member's social enterpreneurship at nonprofit organizations on cooperative behavior and proved the mediator effect of value congruency among individuals at those organizations. Examined on a nationwide scale with members at nonprofit organizations, this study indicated followings: 1. Innovativeness, Risk Management, and Social Mission. are valid 2. Innovativeness and Social Mission are related to cooperative behavior, 3. Value congruency with each other at an institution exerts positive effect on cooperative behavior, 4. Value congruency over social enterpreneurship and cooperative behavior partially, yet still positively, mediate social enterpreneurship to cooperative behavior. In other words, the higher the social enterpreneurship in each indivisual is, the higher the degree of value congruency among individuals is, leading to more frequent cooperative behavior. This study also suggests that enhancement of social enterpreureship in each individual at work through education should be considered.

  • Drawing on costly signaling theory and self-enhancement motive, this study examines the relationships among proactive personality, knowledge sharing behavior, and organizational recognition. In addition to the individual characteristic, this study considers job characteristics as conditional factors, and especially proposes the moderated mediation model in which job complexity and variety moderate the relationships among proactive personality, knowledge sharing behavior, and organizational recognition. To prove these hypotheses, empirical analyses are conducted with 166 dyad samples collected from various industries. As predicted, individuals with high proactive personality are more likely to become involved in knowledge sharing behavior, and this behavior increases organizational recognition rated by their supervisors. Moreover, job complexity and variety moderate the positive relationship between proactive personality and organizational recognition is mediated by knowledge sharing behavior. These results reveal the motive in knowledge sharing and the boundary condition that is necessary to increase such behavior. The study findings will ultimately contribute theoretical and empirical implications to the knowledge management literature.

  • Purpose: The degree of caring behavior of oncology nurses is a crucial factor in the care provided to patients with cancer. In this study, we aimed to investigate factors related to oncology nurses' caring behavior, including their resilience and professional quality of life. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with 107 oncology nurses at an urban tertiary hospital from May 18 to 24, 2015. We used a self-report questionnaire to measure resilience, professional quality of life, and degree of caring behavior. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, correlations, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS/WIN 20.0. Results: Oncology nurses presented with low levels of resilience and caring behavior, and high levels of compassion satisfaction, burnout, and secondary traumatic stress. There was a statistically significant relationship between the degree of caring behavior, resilience (r = .43, p < .001), compassion satisfaction (r = .51, p < .001), and burnout (r = - .42, p < .001), as well as between secondary traumatic stress and burnout (r = .34, p < .001). Factors associated with oncology nurses' degree of caring behavior were compassion satisfaction (t = 6.00, p < .001) and educational level (t = 3.45, p = .001). Conclusion: This study demonstrates that oncology nurses' degree of caring behavior is related to their professional quality of life and education. These findings suggest that enhancing oncology nurses' healthy coping strategies at both the individual and organizational levels can further develop holistic nursing care. Additionally, it is necessary to examine the factors affecting nurses' compassion satisfaction and to try to promote this aspect.

  • Trust is a personal emotion that is affected by individual characteristics and social atmosphere. However, a lot of studies on government trust focus on government factors such as fairness and expertise of the government. Government trust is mainly affected by the capacity and characteristics of government. However, government trust is likely to have a significant impact by personal factors such as personal disposition and character. Therefore, this study examines whether government trust is influenced not only by government factors but also by personal factors such as individual values and general trust tendencies. The results of this study show that government trust is positively related to government factors such as government expertise and fairness. In addition, individual values and general trust tendencies, such as age, political tendency, happiness, prospects for the future, and corporate trust level, are also affecting government trust. This indicates that government trust is influenced not only by government variables such as government expertise and government fairness but also by individual values and trust tendencies. It suggests that government trust is not just a variable influenced by government behavior, but also related to individual values and trust tendencies.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effectiveness of oral care protocol including individual oral care education, cryotherapy and benzydamine gargling on oral cavity status and self-care performance in solid cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Thirty-one patients were enrolled by convenience sampling in this study and allocated to control (n=18) and experimental group (n=13). In the intervention group, individual oral care education, oral cryotherapy and benzydamine gargling were applied, while the control group received pre-existed oral care. Oral cavity status and self-oral care behavior were measured in five periods. The data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test, Friedman test, and Chi-square test. There was no significant difference in oral cavity status between the groups. But the two groups showed the poorest oral cavity status on $14^{th}$ day. Self-care behavior was significantly higher in the intervention group than the control group. This effect had maintained for 4months after completion of study. The results showed that individual oral care education by oncology nurse is effective to encourage patients to do self-care behavior and a further study is needed to explore the effect of cryotherapy and benzydamine gargling on oral cavity status of patient with solid tumor.

  • Previous studies have shown that five representative behaviors affect the health of adults in everyday life : smoking, drinking, exercise, nutrition, and stress. This study focuses on these five behaviors in an attempt not only to develop a program that promotes health, but also to suggest ways that such a program may be implemented to reflect diverse lifestyles. Our aim is to show how individual subjectivity influences behavior when making lifestyle choices that affect health. By analyzing individual characteristics, we tried to group people according to their common attitude and behaviors to promote health. We hope that this study may provide the fundamental data which may be used to assist professionals in promoting healthy behaviors among adults. In order to examine how subjectivity(e.g, personal opinions or attitudes) influences behavior, we prepared Q-statements which were composed of Q-samples for the study of human subjectivity. We polled forty-two adults and then analyzed the results using a PC qunal program. As a result, the respondents were classed according to six different types. Type One includes people who think managing stress is the most effective way to live a healthy life. They regard smoking and drinking as harmful behaviors. Type Two subjects, on the other hand, regard smoking and drinking as a matter of taste with few harmful effects. Although they recognize the importance of managing stress, they have a positive attitude towards smoking and regard nutrition as a minor factor in promoting their healthy lifestyle. Those classed as Type Three emphasize the necessity of exercise. They perceive drinking, smoking, and stress as harmful. People in this category seek to increase physical strength and to regulate all five health behaviors by keeping them in a normal range. Type Four consists of people who are indifferent to their health. While they seem to recognize the importance of regular exercise, they pay little attention to nutrition or to the harmful effects of smoking, drinking, and stress. They believe that exercise alone is sufficient to maintain their health. Type Five subjects believe drinking is not a harmful behavior at all. Rather. it has a positive effect on their mental health. They are characterized by this positive attitude towards drinking as well as by indifference toward nutrition (although they readily admit that good nutrition is important). Finally. those classed as Type Six have a positive attitude toward moderate drinking as a means to relieve stress. However. they also recognize the harmful effects of excessive drinking. They regard good nutrition as an important lifestyle choice but are indifferent toward exercise. This type is engaged in passive health management. This study devised six types or categories that reflect different attitudes toward promoting health in everyday life. It further went on to analyze the characteristics of each type. This study shows that programs designed to promote health must be modified to reflect the diversity of individual attitudes and patterns of behaviors.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of self-efficacy, knowledge about the disease, and self-care behavior to the metabolic level in patients with NIDDM. Method: Data were collected from March 15 to April 15, 2001. Participants in the study were 48 patients with NIDDM who were seen regularly at the endocrinology out-patient department of Gwangju Christian Hospital. The data were collected through individual interviews and patient blood samples. The data were analyzed with SPSS/PC+, using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and Cronbach's Alpha. Result: 1. The mean score for self-efficacy was $71.37{\pm}15.56$, knowledge $15.00{\pm}2.84$, self-care behavior $63.18{\pm}13.10$. The mean score for HbAlc level was $7.66{\pm}1.77%$, HDL cholesterol level, $46.22{\pm}13.04 mg/dl$ and total cholesterol level, $187.93{\pm}41.45 mg/dl$. 2. There was a significant difference between patients with a spouse and those without one (t=-2.08, p=0.042), in knowledge according to level of obesity (t=5.14, p=0.010), duration of illness (t=3.22, p=0.031) and presence of complications related to diabetes (t=-2.58, p= 0.013). There were no significant differences in self-care behavior, but there were significant differences in sugar metabolic level according to sex (t=-2.02, p=0.050). 3. The correlation between diabetic patients' self-efficacy, knowledge and self-care behaviour and metabolic control was significantly related only to self-efficacy and self-care behavior (r=.692, p=0.000). Conclusion: It is necessary to improve self-efficacy, knowledge, and self-care behavior for patients with NIDDM by using nursing intervention programs to promote and maintain metabolic control.

  • In this study, a complex behavior connector is proposed to overcome the problems that may occur when small pile pipe and micro pile is used as a friction pile concept in the lower foundation of an oil sand plant where a piloti foundation is used. The individual settlement and heaving of piles were connected in one group to allow the composite behavior. This study performed to analyze the load carrying capacity to identify a complex behavior. In addition, the shape of the composite behavior connector was examined to apply the advantages of pile-group and piled raft foundations to oil sand plants. A scale model was constructed to measure the behavior of the load. The stability and weakness of the device were selected to determine the shape of the connector using the scale model testing.

  • Many of the theoretical studies have considered herd behavior as a source of the volatility in financial markets, but there have been few empirical studies on the dynamic herding due to the technical difficulty of detecting herd behavior with time-series data. In this context, this paper proposes a new method for measuring time-varying herd behavior based on QR-GARCH model. Using daily data of KOSPI stocks, this paper provides some empirical evidence for strong and volatile herding among traders of stocks of medium firms, and shows that time-varying herd behavior in traders of some stocks has persistent autocorrelation.
