  • The purpose of this study is to examine what sort of causes have the effect on the coping behavior of the unemployed against their job loss. For the purpose of the study, following independent variables have been selected, locus of control, self-efficacy and autotelic personality. As dependent variables, two types of coping behaviors of individual have been used, problem-focused coping strategies and symptom-focused coping strategies. To test the hypotheses, structural equation modeling was employed. The model showed adequate fit to the data. The results of structural equation modeling exhibit that internal locus of control, self-efficacy and autotelic personality were positively related problem-focused coping strategies. And self-efficacy was negatively related to symptom-focused coping strategies. Implications are discussed and future research directions are outlined.

  • The development of the fourth industry has enabled users to quickly share a lot of data online. We can analyze big data on information about tourist attractions and users' experiences and opinions using artificial intelligence. It can also analyze the association between characteristics of users and types of tourism. This paper analyzes individual characteristics, recommends customized tourist sites and proposes a system to provide the sacred texts of recommended tourist sites as AR services. The system uses machine learning to analyze the relationship between personality type and tourism type preference. Based on this, it recommends tourist attractions according to the gender and personality types of users. When the user finishes selecting a tourist destination from the recommendation list, it visualizes the information of the selected tourist destination with AR.

  • This research aims at investigating the factors determining the success of knowledge management system(KMS) in research organizations. Based on the literature survey and the general framework of IS success model, a new comprehensive model which is customized to the context of KMS is proposed. Some organizational support factors and an individual personality variable that moderates the relationship between predictors and the success factors are also integrated to the new model. A proposed model was tested by the technique of structural equation modeling using survey data from the employees in research organization. The results revealed that KMS quality had the strongest impact on the KMS success measured by perceived usefulness and user satisfaction and KMS use. The moderating effect of an individual personality factor, organization-based self esteem is also founded in the research.

  • Purpose: This study noted that even similar environmental conditions caused by the heat wave were differentiated depending on the internal characteristics of the individual, so there was a difference in the extent of the damage. Thus, the relationship between individual psychological characteristics and experiences of the symptoms of thermal diseases was analyzed. Method: The influence of construction workers was analyzed through questioning of individual characteristics and psychological measures of self-esteem, self-esteem, and personality that may be related to heat wave damage, depending on whether they have experienced symptoms of thermal diseases. Results: Logistic regression shows that responsibility affects positive (+) experience of symptoms of heat disease and self-esteem in groups negatively (-) experience of symptoms of heat illness. Conclusion: This study presented basic data as the first study to analyze obsessive compulsive, self-respect and personality of construction workers who are vulnerable to heat waves to identify the psychological characteristics of victims of heat waves.

  • The purpose of this study is to find how the mother's rearing patterns and attitudes influence on a child's social personality development. Many contemporary psychologists insist that mother's rearing attitudes and methods before age of six influence on child's social personality development a great deal. Freud divided the child's developmental stages into three : oral, anal, and phallic period. According to his assumptions the way of mother's feeding and weaning has very important relationship with the personality development through ora period and how to handle toilet training will greatly influence through anal period. In addition to this, Symonds declares that a mother's rearing attitudes will influence the establishment of social characteristics of the child. The moderate attitude-not too overprotective or rejective or submissive or dominate-is desirable. If mother's attitude declines to one aspect among these four kinds too much, the child would have chances to develop maladjusted social characteristics such as aggressiveness , submissiveness, dependency, and dominativeness. The hypotheses of this study were based on Freud and Symonds theory and tested by correlation and the difference of percentage. The results of the study were as follows : I. The relationship between rearing pattern and social characteristics 1. When the child has too strictly scheduled feeding time, he will have aggressive attitudes. 2. The longer the feeding period, the more dependency the child will have. 3. In case the toilet training was taken place too early or strictly, the child will withdraw into his shell. 4. When the child failed to perform the toilet training and was punished because of that, the child's personality will likely to be too submissive or aggressive. II. The relationship between mother's attitudes and social personality 1. When the mother's attitude is too overprotective the child showed withdrawn characteristics (r = 89) or dependency ( r = 24). 2. The child whose mother has too rejective attitude also showed withdrawn characteristics ( r = 31). As Sears insisted self-demanding schedule is recommendable and the weaning supposed to be started after age of one and a half years and finished around age of two. The toilet training which has rather severe consequences than the feeding methods should be started when the child is able to understand what is expected to him. Sears says that about two years after birth would be proper but individual difference should be considered. As a conclusion, Flexible and understanding attitudes and rearing methods is necessary for a sound establishment of social personality.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the relationships of brain laterality, active EEG over all brain regions and personality traits by measuring EEG signals on the basis of the counseling psychology personality theories. For this study, the EEG of ninety-six college students as measured by an eight channel EEG device and analyzed through the computer and the data of their Big Five Personality Test were analyzed by statistical analysis. The result was that when theta's laterality at the prefrontal lobe is bigger, neuroticism is higher in the personality factors. On each of the brain regions, theta's activity on the left of the prefrontal lobe makes higher neuroticism but lower conscientiousness, and beta's activity on the left of the frontal lobe makes lower extroversion and openness to experience. These results showed that there are statistically meaningful relationships between the brain region activated specific EEG and individual personality or psychological traits. This study branched out into theta band while most previous studies measured in alpha and beta band. Also from these results it suggested the counseling strategy with the brain and follow-up studies.

  • Most previous research on impression formation has been examined the effects of various informations exclusively within a category, either social category or individual characteristic. The present research examined and compared the priming effects of social category information (we and other) versus personality information (warm and cold) on impression formation. In Study 1, participants primed subliminally with combinations of social category and personality information (we/warm, we/cold, other/warm, and other/cold) were asked to rate faceial pictures on the good-bad and likable-dislikable dimensions. The analysis revealed only the significant main effects of social category information but not any effects of personality information on both the impression dimensions. In Study 2 in which participants were primed with either social category or personality information exclusively, priming of social category information influenced the judgments of likable-dislikable dimension and that of personality information influenced the judgments of good-bad dimension. These results suggest that personality information influences impression in general even though its impacts may be overwritten by social categorical information. The findings were discussed with its implication of everyday's impression formation and the cultural psychological perspectives.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the sensibility images when the direction and width of stripes change on semi-tight skirts. The researcher made 12 stimuli consisting of images of skirts with a combination of six stripe directions and two stripe widths. The images were assessed by 126 subjects who were students majoring in apparel. Three sensibility image factors were found: personality, attractiveness, and activity. Images of skirts with different stripe directions were perceived as having significant differences among these factors. Stripe widths of 1.5cm and 3cm in upward diagonal, vertical side line, and downward diagonal directions influenced the personality factor. Diagonal stripes with a width of 1.5cm positively influenced attractiveness and activity. Stripes in a vertical direction increased attractiveness when the stripe width was 1.5cm rather than 3cm. Although the interaction of stripe direction and width significantly influenced perceptions of attractiveness and activity in images of semi-tight skirts, they did not significantly influence personality. In accordance with the analysis, stripe direction was significantly different for all factors. This analysis indicated that each factor has its own independent influence. Stripe width had major independent effects, showing significance in attractiveness and activity. However, personality did not indicate any significant difference. The results of this study will help women select suitable clothing according to their individual preferences and body shapes by influencing how images are depicted because women will be able to use the images to estimate their body images when the skirts are put on.
