  • This study was conducted for investigating the characteristics of children's experiences in plants and their relationship with ecological literacy. 578 primary students participated in our survey, who consisted of 240 urban and 338 semi-rural children. The questionnaire for this study was composed of items about their experiences in plants and ecological literacy. Children's experiences in plants were classified to 5 factors; indirect/observable, living, investigative, negative, and active experiences in plants. The most important factor of them is indirect/observable experience which tends to be passive. Children's ecological literacy and experiences in plants were not different with a place of residence but had difference with sexual. Most children's experiences in plants had correlation with ecological literacy. Ecological sensibility was the most important variable for explanation of the relation between children's ecological literacy and experiences in plants. It is recommended that supplying experiments in plants to children is important for promoting their ecological literacy.

  • Companies have recently become interested in the importance of long-term relationships with customers because business-based marketing ideas of the past have evolved into long-term relationship-based marketing. Establishing a relationship with customers to a company is not a simple method to form a market of consumers and provider; it is now understood as an important factor directly connected to the survival of a company. This study is to help Korean fashion brands in China build an efficient strategy for sales promotion and loyal customers through the analysis of the effect of familiarity with Korean fashion brands on satisfaction and brand loyalty in a rapidly growing Chinese fashion market. An online questionnaire covering Korean fashion brands in China was completed by 377 Chinese male and female customers aged 20 to 39 years old from March 20 to March 27, 2014. Data analysis was performed by factor analysis and path analysis using SPSS 20.0 and AMOS. Both direct experiences and indirect experiences influenced brand familiarity. It showed that brand familiarity had a significant direct effect and an indirect effect through satisfaction on brand loyalty. A competitive advantage in the present Chinese fashion market requires that loyalty builds and that brand loyalty increases by creating a long-term relationship with customers when familiarity about the brand is induced.

  • This study was conducted to analyze the effect on entrepreneurial intention and empirically analyze which factors have the greatest influence. To this end, self-achievement motivation, indirect experience, role model, awareness of entrepreneurs, and fear of business failure were set as independent variables as factors influencing entrepreneurial intention. In order to empirically analyze this, 399 valid samples for the general public were analyzed. SPSS 25.0 was used for statistical analysis. As a result of the empirical analysis of this study, self-achievement motivation, indirect experience, role model, awareness of entrepreneurs, and fear of business failure all had a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial intention. The results of this study confirmed that self-achievement motivation had the greatest influence among the factors affecting entrepreneurial intention. It is significant in that indirect experiences and role models such as theoretical entrepreneurship lectures, special entrepreneurship lectures, and parents or acquaintances influence entrepreneurial intention.

  • Objectives: Suicide is the most frequent cause of death among Korean adolescents, and adolescents who have experienced trauma have an increased risk of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms, depression, and suicide attempts. However, resilience and self-esteem are protective factors. We examined the effects of resilience and self-esteem on the relationship among traumatic experiences, PTSD symptoms, depression, and suicidal ideation. Methods: Middle-school students (n=403) completed questionnaires assessing traumatic experiences, PTSD symptoms, depression, suicidal ideation, resilience, and self-esteem. Path analysis was performed to investigate the mediating effects of PTSD symptoms, resilience, self-esteem, and depression on the relationship between trauma exposure and suicidal ideation. Results: Traumatic experience was positively correlated with PTSD symptoms, depression, and suicidal ideation. PTSD symptoms and depression were positively correlated with suicidal ideation. The relationship between traumatic experiences and suicidal ideation was mediated by PTSD symptoms, which had both direct and indirect effects on suicidal ideation; the indirect effect was mediated by resilience, self-esteem, and depression. Conclusion: Korean adolescents who had experienced trauma were more likely to develop PTSD symptoms, increasing their risk of depression and suicidal ideation. However, self-esteem and resilience may help protect against depression and suicidal ideation. Our findings could inform suicide prevention initiatives.

  • The purpose of this study was to assess pro-environmental behavior of elementary school students by school year and gender and to investigate the relationships of their emotional affinity toward and intellectual curiosity about life, and experiences about nature and life with the pro-environmental behavior. A total of 436 elementary students participated in the study: 189 3rd grade; 247 6th grade students, and 233 boys; 203 girls. The variables were measured by using a self-report questionnaire with 5-point Likert scale items. The results showed the levels of pro-environmental behavior of the 3rd grade students and the girls were higher than that of the 6th grade and the boys, respectively. Their pro-environmental behavior was significantly related with all measured variables. However, it was found that the direct predictors of their pro-environmental behavior were the intellectual curiosity and the indirect experience, while the emotional affinity and the direct experience did not have a direct impact on the behavior. The predictive power of the intellectual curiosity and the indirect experience for their pro-environmental behavior was higher in 3rd grade than 6th grade. While the indirect experience was a stronger predictor of the boys' pro-environmental behavior than the intellectual curiosity, the curiosity was a stronger predictor of the girls.

  • This study analyzes the impact of the experiences of elderly using social welfare organizations in socio-economic deprivation on their relational aggression damage experiences, and verifies the mediating effects of rejection sensitivity. For data collection, 275 of 290 questionnaires, excluding 15 questionnaires with inadequate responses, were used for the final analysis. The SPSS and AMOS programs were used for data analysis through the following procedures. The analysis showed that socio-economic deprivation experiences, relational aggression damage experiences, and rejection sensitivity were higher for the groups of male elderly, higher age, education above college, absence of spouse, and longer institutionalization. The size of indirect effect (${\beta}=.32$) was larger than that of direct effect (${\beta}=.14$), signifying that the indirect impact through rejection sensitivity was larger than the impact of socio-economic deprivation on the experiences of damage by relational aggression. With the above findings, this study makes practical suggestions for institutional measures to reduce the elderly's relational aggression damage experiences and rejection sensitivity and programs on socio-economic deprivation, etc.
