흙의 비배수전단강도가 0이 되는 함수비인 흐름한계의 제안 (A Proposal of Flow Limit for Soils at Zero Undrained Shear Strength)

  • 사면 내 토사가 붕괴되거나 토석류가 발생하는 경우 파괴면에 작용하는 전단강도는 0에 가깝게 되면서 토사가 비점성 액체와 같이 유동한다. 점성토는 함수비 증가에 따라 그 연경도가 달라지며 액체상태로 바뀌는 액성한계에서 도 약간의 전단강도를 가진다. 본 연구에서는 점성토의 전단강도가 0이 되어 흐름을 유발하는 함수비를 찾고자 하였 다. 카올리나이트, 벤토나이트, 그리고 카올리나이트(50%)+벤토나이트(50%)와 같은 세 종류의 점토에 혼합수로 증류 수, 해수, 또는 미생물용액을 혼합하여 액성한계 상태로 만든 다음 함수비를 단계적으로 증가시키면서 토베인 시험기 를 이용하여 비배수전단강도를 측정하였다. 액성한계와 소성한계에서 비배수전단강도의 범위는 각각 3.6-9.2kPa와 24-45kPa 정도이었다. 한편 측정 결과로부터 비배수전단강도가 급격하게 변화하는 값에 해당하는 함수비를 흐름함수 비(Flow Water content)로 정의하였으며, 비배수전단강도가 0이 될 때의 함수비를 흐름한계(Flow Limit)로 정의하였다. 그리고 흐름한계와 액성한계의 상관관계를 살펴보기 위하여 흐름한계와 액성한계의 차이를 점성지수(Cohesive Index) 로 정의하였다. 또한 흐름한계와 소성한계의 차이를 새로운 소성지수(New Plasticity Index)로 정의하였으며, 흐름한계를 이용하여 새로운 액성지수(New Liquidity Index)도 정의하였다. 흐름한계(Flow Limit)는 액성한계보다 1.5-2배 정도 높은 값을 보였으며, 새로운 소성지수는 기존 소성지수보다 2-5.5배 정도 높았다.

구강건조증 환자에서 음허 측정 설문지 절단점 개발 및 진단능 평가 (Development Cut-off Value for Yin-deficiency Questionnaire and Diagnostic Ability of Yin-deficiency in Xerostomia)

  • Objectives: The aims of study were developing cut-off value of Yin-deficiency questionnaire (YDQ) for diagnosis of Yin-deficiency (YD) and compare diagnostic ability between YDQ and Yin-deficiency scale score (YDS) in xerostomia patients. Methods: We recruited 58 xerostomia patients. They were diagnosed YD or non-YD by 3 Korean medicine doctors (KMD). We assessed YD using YDQ and YDS. We evaluated xerostomia using VAS, Dry Mouth Symptom Questionnaire (DMSQ), Salivary Flow Rate (SFR), oral moisture on buccal mucosa and tongue surface (OMB and OMT). We surveyed tongue coatings using Winkel Tongue Coating Index (WTCI). Results: We diagnosed 23 patients YD and 35 patients non-YD. There were no significant differences of age, sex and body mass index between the YD and non-YD groups. Using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, the optimal cut-off value of YDQ was defined as 304. Sensitivity, specificity and Youden index of YDQ were 86.96%, 71.43% and 1.5839 respectively. Using Cohen's coefficient of agreement, we found that degree of agreement between KMD and YDQ diagnosis was moderate (${\kappa}$=0.524, p<0.001). Using Pearson's correlation analysis, we found concurrent validity of YDQ and YDS were significant correlated. Using area under curve value, we found diagnostic ability between YDQ and YDS were not significantly different (p=0.505), but there were more strong correlations between DMSQ-symptoms and YDQ (r=0.731, p<0.001) than correlations between DMSQ-symptoms and YDS (r=0.418, p<0.01). Conclusions: The cut-off value of YDQ can diagnose YD in xerostomia and diagnostic ability of YDQ in xerostomia is better than YDS.

Comparison of Diagnostic Accuracies of Serum HE-4 Levels and 3D Power Doppler Angiography Parameters between Benign Endometrial Pathologies and Endometrial Cancer

  • Purpose: To study the diagnostic accuracies of serum human epididymis protein 4 (HE-4) levels, virtual organ computer-aided analysis (VOCAL) parameters and endometrial volume in endometrial cancer cases. Materials and Methods: One hundred and seven patients (37 with endometrial cancer and 70 with benign endometrial pathology) were included in this study. VOCAL parameters and serum HE-4 levels were compared between the groups. Results: Area under the curve (AUC) values were 0.702, 0.658, 0.706 for vascularization index (VI), the flow index (FI) and the vascularization flow index (VFI), respectively. A cut off value of 0.568 for VI demonstrated 70% sensitivity, 72% specificity, 56% positive predictive value (PPV) and a81% negative predictive value (NPV). A cut off value of 25.8 for showed a senitivith of 70% and a specificity of 58% with aPPV of 46% and NPV of 78%, and with a cut off value of 0.12 for VFI 70%, 69%, 54% and 81%, respectively. The area under the curve for HE-4 was 0.814. A cut off value of 458 pmol/L was predictive of malignancy with 86% sensitivity and 63% specificity. Conclusions: VOCAL parameters and serum HE-4 levels were statistically significantly higher in the endometrial cancer patients. Serum HE-4 levels provided a greater sensitivity compared to power doppler angiography for predicting malignancy or benign endometrial pathology.

Effects of Dietary Peroxidizability Index Values on Hepatic TBARS and Antioxidant Enzyme Activity in 7,12-dimethylbenz[$\alpha$]anthracene-treated Rats

  • Breast cancer may be the consequence of free radical damage, which is partially caused by the excessive intake of dietary fat and imbalances in antioxidant scavenger system;. In this experiment, we examined! the effects of dietary peroxidizability index (PI) values on hepatic thiobmbituric acid reaction substances (TBARS) and antioxidant enzyme activities in rats treated with 7,12-dimethylbenz[$\alpha$]anthracene (DMBA). Female Sprague-Dawley rats were used and 7,12-DMBA (20 mg/kg body weight) was gastrically intubated at seven weeks of age in order to induce mammary tumors (MT). The levels of dietary PI were 36, 81, 126 and 217 (LPI, MLPI, MHPI and HPI), while dietary polyunsaturated/saturated fatty acids ratio was maintained at the same level (1.0). Fat used in the experiment was mixed with soybean oil, com oil, palm oil, perilla oil, sesame oil, fish oil, and beef tallow. Experimental diets were given for the following 20 weeks. We measured tumor numbers and weights, and then assayed the hepatic TBARS levels and antioxidant enzyme activities such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, glutathione peroxidase, glutathione-S-transferase (GST) and glutathione reductase (GR). The incidence of Mr was the lowest in the MHPI group. The hepatic TBARS level was significantly raised with increasing dietary PI value. The hepatic SOD and GR activities were differed significantly by dietary PI value. The hepatic SOD activity was negatively correlated with dietary PI value and GR activity was the highest in the rats fed the MHPI diet. When the dietary P/S ratio is kept at 1.0, adequate dietary PI value (PI value of 126) may reduce the incidence and growth of Mr, but this benefit may be lost with higher dietary PI value. These results suggest that the awareness of dietary PI values may help to decrease breast cancer incidence and growth.

Long-term Effects of Inorganic Fertilizer and Compost Application on Rice Sustainability in Paddy Soil

  • Sustainability index was calculated to determine the best management for rice productivity under long-term inorganic fertilizer management's practices. It is based on nutrient index, microbiological index and crop index related to sustainability as soil function. Indicators for calculating sustainability index were selected by the comparison of soil properties and rice response in paddy soil with fertilization. Total twenty two indicators were determined to assess nutrient index, microbiological index and crop index in order to compare the effect of different fertilization. The indices were applied to assess the sustainability with different inorganic fertilizer treatments such as control, N, NK, NP, NPK, NPK+Si, and NPK+Compost. The long-term application of compost with NPK was the highest sustainability index value because it increased nutrient index, microbial index and crop index. The use of chemical fertilizers resulted in poor soil microbial index and crop index, but the treatments like NP, NPK, and NPK+Si were maintained sustainability in paddy soil. These results indicate that application of organic and chemical fertilizer could be a good management to improve rice sustainability in paddy soil.

초음파 검사 영상의 정량적인 측정 연구를 통한 지방간 분석 (Fatty Liver Analysis through Quantitative Measurement Study of Ultrasonography Images)

  • 본 연구는 간 초음파 영상을 활용하여 정량적인 측정 분석을 통해 조직 내 감쇠 지수, 조직 내 산란 분포지수 값 분석과 함께 초음파 영상 소견 간 일치도를 알아보고자 하였다. 2022년 8월부터 2022년 10월까지 지방간이 의심되어 간 초음파 검사 처방을 받은 45명의 환자를 대상으로 간 초음파 검사를 시행하였다. 연구결과, 초음파 영상 소견과 조직 내 감쇠 지수 간 일치도 분석 결과 Kappa 값이 0.82(p<0.05)로 두 검사 방법 간 매우 높은 일치도를 보였다. 또한, 초음파 영상 소견과 조직 내 산란 분포 지수 간 일치도 분석 결과에서도 Kappa 값이 0.642(p<0.05)로 두 검사 방법 간 높은 일치도를 보였다. 지방간 예측 시 간 초음파 소견 및 정량적인 초음파 검사 기법인 조직 내 감쇠 지수, 조직 내 산란 분포 지수를 활용한다면 지방간 환자의 진행 정도를 판단할 때 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

조건부 Value-at-Risk와 Expected Shortfall 추정을 위한 준모수적 방법들의 비교 연구 (Comparison of semiparametric methods to estimate VaR and ES)

  • 바젤 위원회는 시장위험의 측정 도구로 Value-at-Risk(VaR)와 expected shortfall(ES)을 사용할 것을 제안하였다. 여러 문헌에서 VaR와 ES의 다양한 추정 방법들이 연구 되었다. 본 연구에서는 준모수적인 방법인 conditional autoregressive value at risk(CAViaR), conditional autoregressive expectile(CARE) 방법들, 그리고 Gaussian 준최대가능도 추정량(QMLE)를 이용한 방법을 사후 검정을 통해서 비교하고자 한다. 각 방법의 타당성을 확인하기 위해서, VaR에 대한 사후 검정은 unconditional coverage(UC)와 conditional coverage(CC) 검정을 사용하고 ES에 대한 검정은 붓스트랩 방법을 사용한다. S&P500 지수와 현대 자동차 주식가격 지수에 대하여 실증 자료 분석이 수행되었다.

식이섬유 수준이 유색육용계의 육질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Dietary Fiber Level on Meat Quality in Colored Broiler)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of dietary fiber(DF) levels on the meat quality in colored broiler. Colored broiler were fed on containing corn-soy basal diet(DF 5%) and high level(DF 6,7 and 8%) of dietary fiber diets for 7 weeks. Dietary fiber level of diet was make up by adding some alffalfa meal. Colored broiler meats were stored at 3$\circ$ for 24hr after skaughter, and used to analyze physico-chemical properties. Proximate component, pH, shear force value, myofibril fragmentation index, water holding capacity, cooking loss, protein extractability, fatty acid composition, Hunter's L, a value and palatability of cooked meat were not significantly affected by dietary fiber levels, whereas the Hunter's value of meat was significantly affected bty dietary fiber levels for the final period of feeding. Crude protein content, myofibril fragmentation index, water holding capacity, protein extractability and Hunter's b value of breast meat's were higher than thigh meat's, but crude fat content, pH, shear force value, cooking loss, palmitoleic acid, linolenic acid, and Hunter's a value were lower, regardless of dietary fiber level.

첨가제에 따른 경유연료의 세탄가 유도세탄가 및 세탄지수 분석 (Determination of the Cetane Number, Derived Cetane Number and Cetane Index for Diesel Fuel by Additives)

  • 압축착화엔진용 경유연료 세탄가는 연료의 착화성을 나타내는 연료의 주요 특성중의 하나이다. 기존 CFR 엔진을 이용한 세탄가 분석의 번거로움을 피하기 위해 세탄가를 세탄지수로 대체하여 사용하고 있으나, 현재 다양한 첨가제에 의한 세탄가와 세탄지수 값의 차이를 보이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 첨가제로서 바이오디젤, 등유유분, 세탄가향상제를 베이스경유에 일정 비율로 혼합한 뒤, 세탄가, 유도세탄가 및 세탄지수를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첨가제에 의한 세탄가와 유도세탄가는 유사한 결과값을 보였지만 세탄지수는 바이오디젤과 세탄가향상제 첨가시 현저한 분석값 차이를 보였다.

적정 포장설계를 위한 과실의 바이오 허용 충격지수 추정 (Estimation of the Allowable Bio-shock Fragility Index of Fruits for Optimum Packaging Design)

  • Physical damage to fruits and vegetables caused by shock degrades the value of product in the fresh market. In order to design a product/packaging system to protect the product, the G-factor to the product that causes shock damage needs to be determined. The shock fragility of organisms such as fruits with a concept correspondent to the G-factor of industrial products was calculated and we defined the allowable bio-shock fragility index as the value divided peak acceleration that was generated in safe drop height by standard acceleration of gravity. We did modeling for safe drop hight that would prevent fruits from damage by drop tests and tried to estimate the allowable bio-shock fragility index of pears and apples for optimum packaging design. The bio-shock fragility index of pears was in the range of $0.74{\sim}2.29\;G$, while apples had a slightly higher value than that of pears, of $0.51{\sim}2.98\;G$. This result shows accordance with the general fact that apples have a firmer structure and get less damage from the same impact. Based on this result, it is possible to create an optimum packaging design by providing a damage standard by impact.
