The characteristics of fuel spray have an important effect on engine performance such as power, specific fuel consumption and emission because fuel spray controls the mixing and combustion process in an engine. Therefore, if the characteristics of fuel spray can be measured, they can be effectively used for improving engine performance. The major factors controlling fuel spray are injection pressure, ambient pressure and engine speed. In this study, the experiment is performed in a high temperature and high pressure chamber. In experiments, spray tip penetration, spray angle and spray tip velocity are measured at various injection pressure (10 and 14 MPa), ambient pressure(3,4 and 5 MPa), fuel pump speed(500, 700 and 900 rpm). Experimental results are useful for deriving an experimental spray equation and design an optimal engine. The results showed that injection pressure, ambient pressure and fuel pump speed are important factors influencing on the characteristics of spray. 1) Injection pressure influences on the characteristics of spray. That is, as injection pressure is increased, spray angle is decreased but spray penetration and spray tip velocity is increased. 2) Spray angle and spray penetration are increased as fuel pump speed is increased.

The characteristics of fuel spray influence on the engine performances such as power, fuel economy and emissions. therefore, the measurement of fuel spray characteristics is very important for the improvement of heat engine. The factor which controls the fuel spray is injection pressure, ambient pressure, engine speed et al.. In :his study, We measured spray angle, spray penetration and spray tip velocity considering injection pressure(10,14㎫), ambient pressure(3,4,5㎫), fuel pump speed(500,700,900rpm) in the high temperature and pressure chamber. Experimental results are summarized as follows: 1) Injection pressure influence on the characteristics of spray namely As Injection pressure Is increased, spray angle is decreased but spray penetration and spray tip velocity is increased. 2) Spray angle, spray penetration is increased by increasing the fuel pump speed. 3) Ambient pressure plays an important role in spray characteristics.

In this research, a computer analysis has been developed for predicting the Pipe pressure of the intake and exhaust manifold in a small single cylinder engine. To get the boundary conditions for a numerical analysis one dimensional and unsteady gas dynamic calculation is performed by using the MOC(Method Of Characteristics). The main numerical parameters are engine revolutions. to calculate the Pulsating flow which the intake and exhaust valves are working. The distributions of the exhaust pipe pressures were influenced strongly to the cylinder pressures and the shapes of exhaust pressure variation were similar to the Inside of cylinder pressure As the engine revolutions are increased. the intake pressure was lower than ambient pressure. The amplitude of exhaust pressure had increased and the phase of cylinder pressure $P_c$ is delayed and the amplitude of cylinder pressure were increased.

In the present study, the characteristics of pressure oscillation and heat transfer performance in an oscillating capillary tube heat pipe were experimentally investigated with respect to the heat flux, the charging ratio of working fluid, and the inclination angle to the horizontal orientation. The experimental results showed that the frequency of pressure oscillation was between 0.1 Hz and 1.5 Hz at the charging ratio of 40 vol.%. The saturation pressure of working fluid in the oscillating capillary tube heat pipe increased as the heat flux was increased. Also, as the charging ratio of working fluid was increased, the amplitude of pressure oscillation increased. When the pressure waves were symmetric sinusoidal waves at the charging ratios of 40 vol.% and 60 vol.%, the heat transfer performance was improved. At the charging ratios of 20 vol.% and 80 vol.%, the waveforms of pressure oscillation were more complicated, and the heat transfer performance reduced. At the charging ratio of 40. vol.%, the heat transfer performance of the OCHP was at the best when the inclination angle was 90$^{\circ}$ the pressure wave was a sinusoidal waveform, the pressure difference was at the least, the oscillation amplitude was at the least, and the frequency of pressure oscillation was the highest.
This paper presents spray and combustion characteristics of hydrocarbon fuel injected from pressure-swirl nozzles. Three commercial nozzles with orifice diameters of 0.256, 0.308 and 0.333mm and injection pressures ranging from 0.7 to 1.3 MPa were selected f9r the experiments. Spray characteristics such as breakup length. spray angle and drop size (SMD) were analyzed using photo image analyses and Malvern Panicle Size Analyzer. The drop size was measured with and without a blower at the same measuring locations. The flame length and width were measured using photo image analyses. The temperature distribution along the axial distance and the gas emission such as CO, $CO_2\;and\;NO_x$ were studied. The breakup length decreased with an increase in injection pressure for each nozzle but increased with an increase in nozzle orifice diameter. The spray angle increased and SMD decreased with an increase in injection pressure. The flame with an increased linearly with an increase in injection pressure and in nozzle orifice diameter. The flame temperature increased with an increase in injection pressure but decreased along the axial distance. The maximum temperatures occurred closer to the burner exit and flame at axial distance of 242mm from the diffuser tip. The experimental results showed that the level of CO decreased while that of $CO_2\;and\;NO_x$ increased with an increase in injection pressure and nozzle orifice diameter.
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of three factors(dynamic load, inflation pressure and multiple passes of the tire) on the contact pressure and the soil stresses under the tire. A series of soil bin experiment was conducted with a 6.00R14 radial-ply tire for sandy loam soil. Tire contact pressure at soil surface and soil stresses at 10cm and 20cm soil depth were measured for the three levels of dynamic load(1.17kN, 2.35kN and 3.53kN), for the three levels of tire inflation pressure(103.42kPa, 206.84kPa and 413.69kPa), and for five different number of passes(1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 pass). The following results were drawn from this study 1) As dynamic load, inflation pressure and number of passes of the tire increased, tire contact pressure at soil surface and soil stresses at 10cm and 20cm soil depth increased accordingly. Thus increased in dynamic load, inflation pressure and number of passes of the tire would increase soil compaction. 2) The effect of three different factors, or dynamic load, inflation pressure and number of passes of the tire, decreased as the soil depth increase. Consequently, it was found that the soil compaction at a shallow depth in soil is larger than that at deep place in soil. 3) The increase of dynamic load and number of passes increased soil stress exponentially, but the increase of inflation pressure increased soil stress linearly. The effect of tire inflation pressure on soil stress was relatively less than that of the dynamic load. Therefore, it was concluded that dynamic load is more important factor affecting soil compaction in comparison to the inflation pressure of tire.

This study was carried out to investigate experimentally the effect of the ground condition and tire inflation pressure on rolling characteristics of towed wheel, including the deformation, sinkage, effective rolling radius and motion resistance of tire. The experiment was performed at soil bin for the three levels of off-road conditions(ground-I, ground-II and ground-III) and a on-road condition(ground-IV), and for the four levels of tire inflation pressure which were 80 kPa, 160 kPa, 240 kPa and 320 kPa. The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1. As the tire inflation pressure of towed wheel increased, the tire deformation decreased exponentially, but the tire sinkage increased exponentially. This trend was getting bigger as ground condition was getting softer. 2. The increase of tire inflation pressure increased the effective rolling radius of towed wheel, and this kind of trend occurred greatly as ground condition was soft. As a result, the effective rolling radius for the off-road condition was always larger than that for on-road condition. 3. For the on-road condition, as the tire inflation pressure of towed wheel increased, the motion resistance decreased, but for the off-road condition, augmentation of tire inflation pressure increased the motion resistance. Also, the effect of inflation pressure on motion resistance appeared great as ground condition was soft. Therefore, in order to improve the tire performance by the control of inflation pressure, it is desirable to reduce the tire inflation pressure for off-road condition and to increase the tire inflation pressure for on-road condition.
A study on combustion characteristics using emulsified fuel in a diesel engine were performed experimentally. In this paper, the experiments were performed at engine speed 1800rpm, emulsion ratios were 0%, 10%, 20%, and main measured items were specific fuel consumption, cylinder pressure, rate of pressure rise, rate of heat release etc. The obtained conclusions were as follows. 1) Specific fuel consumption increased maximum by 19.8% at low load, but was not affected at full load. 2) Rate of pressure rise and rate of heat release were about the same in the case of 10% and 20% of emulsion ratio. 3) Cylinder Pressure increased 9.6%, rate of pressure rise increased 53.4% in case of emulsion ratio 20% at full load. 4) Rate of heat release increased 72.4% in case of emulsion ratio 20% at full load.

Indium tin oxide (ITO) thin films have been deposited on PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and glass substrates by a do magnetron sputter method of powder target without heat treatments such as substrate heater and post heat treatment. During the sputtering deposition, sputtering parameters such as sputtering power, working pressure, oxygen gas mixture, film thickness and substrate-target distance are important factors for the high quality of ITO thin films. The structural, electrical and optical properties of as-deposited ITO oxide films are investigated by sputtering power, oxygen partial pressure and films thickness among the several sputtering conditions. XRD patterns of ITO films are affected by sputtering power and pressure. As the power and pressure are increased, (411) and (422) peaks of ITO films are grown strongly. Electrical resistivity is also increased, as the sputtering power and pressure are increased. Transmittance of ITO thin films in the visible light ranges is lowered with an increase of sputtering power and film thickness. Reflectance of ITO films in infra-red region is decreased, as the power and pressure is increased.

Air handling unit (AHU)'s air filter pressure difference is important for energy consumption and indoor air quality. Both energy Performance data and air filter differential pressure of AHU in real office buildings were monitored and analyzed to investigate quantitatively energy impact as dust buildup level on air filter grows. We also modeled and simulated CAV system using HVACSIM+ program to examine the energy effect of dust buildup on filters. Through analysis of time series pressure drop data, the filter pressure difference rate has been increased due to cumulative supply air flow rate increase. As filter pressure drop increased to 1 inch water column, it is found that the supply air flow rate was decreased by 10%, the chilled water flow rate was increased by 5.9% and the pump energy consumption was increased to 5.9%.
