  • In the T-joint welding, the complete penetration joint which is obtained by groove welding with edge preparation is generally required thor the safety and reliability of structures but this way have the some defects such as increase of working time, consumed welding electrode quantity and large welding deformation. If there is no probrem, in the strength, T-joint welding without edge preparation will be profitably understood in the economical and welding deformation side. In this paper, we performed the finite element analysis to understand the characteristics of welding residual stresses on two models, complete penetration joint have the edge preparation and incomplete penetration joint without edge preparation, respectively. Especially, we observed the relation between welding residual stress distributed on the notch of gap in the root and external force in the incomplete penetration joint without edge preparation.

  • This paper presents a multi-robot localization based on multidimensional scaling (MDS) in spite of the existence of incomplete and noisy data. While the traditional algorithms for MDS work on the full-rank distance matrix, there might be many missing data in the real world due to occlusions. Moreover, it has no considerations to dealing with the uncertainty due to noisy observations. We propose a robust MDS to handle both the incomplete and noisy data, which is applied to solve the multi-robot localization problem. To deal with the incomplete data, we use the Nystr$\ddot{o}$m approximation which approximates the full distance matrix. To deal with the uncertainty, we formulate a Bayesian framework for MDS which finds the posterior of coordinates of objects by means of statistical inference. We not only verify the performance of MDS-based multi-robot localization by computer simulations, but also implement a real world localization of multi-robot team. Using extensive empirical results, we show that the accuracy of the proposed method is almost similar to that of Monte Carlo Localization(MCL).

  • In this paper, we present a method for clustering incomplete Microarray data using alternating optimization in which a prior imputation method is not required. To reduce the influence of imputation in preprocessing, we take an alternative optimization approach to find better estimates during iterative clustering process. This method improves the estimates of missing values by exploiting the cluster Information such as cluster centroids and all available non-missing values in each iteration. The clustering results of the proposed method are more significantly relevant to the biological gene annotations than those of other methods, indicating its effectiveness and potential for clustering incomplete gene expression data.

  • Carbon Monoxide(CO) poisoning accident is higher than any other gas accident in the rate of deaths/incidents. In the last five years, 36 people died and 104 were wounded because of carbon monoxide poisoning accident. Most of these CO poisoning accidents were caused by defective exhaust tube in the old gas boiler and multi-use facility. In this study, the spread of incomplete combustion gas(CO) released from leakage hole of exhaust tube was analyzed by computational flow modeling and concentration measuring test. CO gas leaked form exhaust tube in a building was highest concentrated near the ceiling and formed the circular currents along the walls. Through these experiments and simulation, the reasonable installation location of carbon monoxide alarm was made certain and suggested.

  • Wabi-Sabi is the most conspicuous and characteristic feature of what we think of as traditional Japanese beauty. It occupies roughly the same position in the japanese pantheon of aesthetic values as do the Greek ideals of beauty and perfection in the West. All things air impermanent. All things are imperfect. all things are incomplete. it offers an aesthetic ideal that uses the uncompromising touch of mortality to focus the mind on the exquisite transient beauty to be found in aoo things impermanent. Wabi-Sabi is a beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. It is a beauty of things unconventional. Wabi-Sabi is the art of everyday life. These may be the methods for the relationship establishment between human and space on the ground of Wabi-Sabl concepts which is commonly found no in contemporary interior space in japan.

  • This paper proposes methods of estimating lifetime distribution from incomplete field data under parametric regression models. Failure-record data-failure times and covariates-reported to the manufacturer can be seriously incomplete for satisfactory inference since only reported failures are recorded. This paper assumes that within-warranty data are reported with probability $P_1$ ($\leq1$) and after-warranty data are reported with Methods of obtaining pseudo and after-warranty data are reported with $P_2$ (< $P_1$). Methods of obtaining pseudo maximum likelihood estimators(PMLEs) are outlined, their asymptotic properties are studied, and specific formulas for Weibull distribution are obtained. Simulation studies are perfumed to investigate the effects of follow-up percentage on the PMLEs.

  • Collaborative filtering is one of the methodologies that are most widely used for recommendation system. It is based on a data matrix of each customer's preferences of products. There could be a lot of missing values in such preference. data matrix. This incomplete data is one of the reasons to deteriorate the accuracy of recommendation system. Multiple imputation method imputes m values for each missing value. It overcomes flaws of single imputation approaches through considering the uncertainty of missing values.. The objective of this paper is to suggest multiple imputation-based collaborative filtering approach for recommendation system to improve the accuracy in prediction performance. The experimental works show that the proposed approach provides better performance than the traditional Collaborative filtering approach, especially in case that there are a lot of missing values in dataset used for recommendation system.

  • There are many weld defects such as surface crack, lack of fusion, and incomplete penetration(IP) in the butt joint weld of the existing steel bridges. The crack-like defects may significantly reduce the life of the structure. This paper presents the procedure and the results of the fatigue life assessment of the butt joints with weld defects in the existing steel girder bridge. The butt joint welds with incomplete penetration were instrumented with strain gages to determine the stress histogram under normal traffic. Based on the measured stress histogram the crack propagation analysis were performed for the fatigue life assessment. By using the suggested procedure and methodology, one can decide the time of periodic inspection and the necessity of repair of the butt joint welds with serious weld defects in the existing steel bridge. • This paper presents experimental and numerical analysis results regarding the effects of an incomplete penetration defect on the fatigue lives of socket welded pipes. For the experiment, four-point bending fatigue tests with various defect geometries (defect depth and circumferential length) were performed, and test results are presented in terms of stress-life data. The results showed that for circumferentially short defects, the fatigue life tends to increase with increasing crack depth, but for longer defects, the trend becomes the opposite. Finite element analysis showed that for short defects, the maximum principal stress decreases with increases in crack depth. For a longer defect, the opposite trend was found. Furthermore, the maximum principal stress tends to increase with an increase in defect length regardless of the defect depth.
