Because of relatively heavy dead weight of concrete itself and unavoidable heat of massive concrete in bridge piers circular hollow columns are widely used in Korean highway bridges Since the occurrence of 1995 Kobe earthquake there have been much concern about seismic design for various infrastructures inclusive of bridge structures. It is however understood that there are not much research works for nonlinear behavior circular hollow columns subjected to earthquake motions. The ultimate of this experimental research is to investigate nonlinear behavior of hollow reinforced concrete bridge piers under the quasi-static cyclic load test and than to enhance their ductility by strengthening the plastic hinge region with glassfiber sheets. It can be concluded from Quasi-static test for 7 bridge piers that approximate 4-5 ductility factor can be experimentally obtained for bridge piers nonseismically designed in conventional way which approximate 5-6 ductility factor for those seismically designed.

Occasionally, there are combat situations which one or both forces can´t terminate the combat using selected combat termination rule according to given relationship between ratio of attrition rate coefficient and threshold values. In this study, we classify the situations that one or both forces can´t terminate the combat with selected combat termination rule into four conditions. Condition${\circled1}$ is the situation which both Blue and Red can terminate the combat using all selected combat termination rules. condition${\circled2}$ and condition${\circled3}$ are those which neither Blue or Red can terminate the combat using selected proportional decision rule, and condition${\circled4}$ is that which both Blue and Red can´t terminate the combat using selected proportional decision rule. We analyze the effect of combat termination rules on parity number, final combat power, and combat durations for each conditions. Also, we propose the method to apply the analyzed effect of combat termination rules to combat analysis.
We derive a factorization theorem for the jet mass distribution with a given $p^J_T$ for the inclusive production, where $p^J_T$ is a large jet transverse momentum. Considering the small jet radius limit ($R{\ll}1$), we factorize the scattering cross section into a partonic cross section, the fragmentation function to a jet, and the jet mass distribution function. The decoupled jet mass distributions for quark and gluon jets are well-normalized and scale invariant, and they can be extracted from the ratio of two scattering cross sections such as $d{\sigma}/(dp^J_TdM^2_J)$ and $d{\sigma}/dp^J_T $. When $M_J{\sim}p^J_TR$, the perturbative series expansion for the jet mass distributions works well. As the jet mass becomes small, large logarithms of $M_J/(p^J_TR)$ appear, and they can be systematically resummed through a more refined factorization theorem for the jet mass distribution.

The purpose of this study is to examine the trends on machine learning and deep learning research in the published journals from the Web of Science Database. To achieve the study purpose, we used the abstracts of 20,664 articles published between 1990 and 2017, which include the word 'machine learning', 'deep learning', and 'artificial neural network' in their titles. Twenty major research topics were identified from topic modeling analysis and they were inclusive of classification accuracy, machine learning, optimization problem, time series model, temperature flow, engine variable, neuron layer, spectrum sample, image feature, strength property, extreme machine learning, control system, energy power, cancer patient, descriptor compound, fault diagnosis, soil map, concentration removal, protein gene, and job problem. The analysis of the time-series linear regression showed that all identified topics in machine learning research were 'hot' ones.
Climate-related events unevenly affect society, worsening mental health disparities among vulnerable populations. This paper highlights that lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender, queers, and other individuals identifying as sexual and gender minorities (LGBTQ+) (LGBTQ+) could be considered a climate-vulnerable population in the Philippines, one of the most climate-vulnerable countries. As such, this paper elucidated that LGBTQ+ Filipinos can be marginalized in climate response efforts due to their sexual orientation and gender minority identities. According to the minority stress theory, discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals may predispose them to mental health problems. Thus, there is a need to institute an LGBTQ+ inclusive mental health response for climate-related events to address discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals and uphold their mental health.
Health is an important topic of 21st century and its meaning has been changed in the direction of more inclusive and diverse way. The meaning of health became 'Community Property' to find in the social relations, and true health is considered to be made when forming 'sense of self' through their role in social relations. The community is the basic mechanism that builds social relationship, therefore it is an essential element to realize the health of modern society. In the modern concept of community, imaginal link is considered more important than physical spatial boundaries, and there is a tendency to depend more on the inter-relationship within it. This is based on the concept of health and community that formed in the changed paradigm, this study covers the concept of health community through a new approach.
Rural enterprise clusters in India have often been characterized by low-end products, poor income earning options and a near-absence of innovativeness. This has implied limited market access, inadequate organization of production and distancing from sources of formal knowledge. Policy neglect of rural industrialization notwithstanding this paper explores the nature of institutional constraints to innovation through intensive case studies of five rural artisan clusters (handlooms and handicrafts) in as many Indian states. Whether it relates to access to loan finance or technology support or linking to markets, the formal institutions (public or private) have been distanced by informality that typifies most rural enterprise clusters. An obsession with a sectoral approach to cluster development has negated addressing infirmities of the space of enterprise, even as scope for learning from some Asian economies in rural enterprise promotion exists. The paper also enquires if the innovation systems have been inclusive and pro-poor.
The change of the developed countries to highly technological societies continuously requires that they nurture and use the full potential of mathematically and scientifically talented people. As this is a process that should start early in order to be efficient, the main responsibility of identifying and addressing the specific needs of these people is assigned to public school systems and, in particular, to elementary teachers. In this regard, three significant areas of concern arise and are discussed in this paper: (a) The complexity in identifying mathematically promising and mathematically talented elementary students; (b) The highly responsible and difficult task for elementary teachers to differentiate and serve the mathematically promising students within an inclusive classroom; and (c) The need of teachers with specialized training and mathematics knowledge in pre-high school grades. The last one should be considered predominantly as a logical consequence of the first two. The main goal and, hence, the purpose of the paper is to promote understanding of this crucial necessity of mathematics specialists and to advocate for a change in this direction.

The objectives of this study was to explore the concept, the origin and history, and classification of amenity. Amenity is a new approach about nature, environment and the world. The concept, origin and classification of amenity was widely diversified, however, the concept of amenity was inclusive and abstract, so amenity was easier to recognize than to define. Even though many people were interested in amenity, however, the movement or practice of amenity in Korea was still in infancy stage. This paper was an exploratory study of amenity and more detailed further studies on amenity should conducted in Korea. It was suggested that we should not start on philosophical question of amenity. We should rather start on practical problems of how to put into practice to insure quality of life in the community, to conserve nature, to study practical dimensions of amenity, and to develop indicators to measure amenity.
The vegetation and landscape of Hokkaido were phytosociologically referred. The region of F a g e t e a c r e n a t a e on Hokkaido is divided into two types of deciduous broad-leaved forest: the oak (Quercus mongolica var. grosseserrata) forests mixed with conifers (mainly Abies sachalinensis) and the beech (Fagus crenata) forests of northernmost distribution in far-east Asia. The oak forests, which is dominated by Quercus mongolica var. grosseserrata in Japanse islands, seem to be developed from different climatic and edaphic conditions, especially in the amount and sharing pattern of precipitation in a year, and weak acid brown forest soil, volcanic ash soil and sandy soil. On the all-inclusive phytogeographical view-point, Hokkaido is situated at northernmost region of F a g e t e a c r e n a t a e (cool-temperate zone)neighboring with subarctic and subalpine vegetation, vegetation, but the evergreen broad-leaved forest (C a m e l l i e t e a j a p o n i c a e, warm-temperate zone) is abscent.
