  • In this paper, we present a new design method for a square iris polarizer to be used in dual-band (Ka-band; 20.8 ~21.2 ㎓, 30.6~31 ㎓) antenna feeds. Principles of operation of a square iris polarizer, its design concepts and methods are proposed. Based on proposed methods, a Ka- band polarizer with -35 dB return loss and 0.3 dB axial ratio is designed using the commercial software HFSS.

  • A design method of double layered electromagnetic wave absorbers with cross-shaped ferrite prominence in the second layer which has broad band frequency characteristics was proposed. The broad band electromagnetic wave absorber can be designed under some approximations by the theoretical model using the equivalent material constants method for the second layer. Based on the developed model broad band electromagnetic wave absorbers with excellent reflectivity frequency characteristics in the frequency range of 30MHz to 3,990MHz were designed.

12주간 줄넘기, 밴드운동이 비만 여중생의 GH, IGF-1 및 대사증후군 위험 인자에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of 12 Weeks Rope Skipping and Band Exercise on GH, IGF-1 and Metabolic Syndrome Risk Factors in Female Obese Middle School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of rope skipping and band exercise on GH, IGF-1 and metabolic syndrome risk factors in female obese middle school students. Twenty female obese middle school students(%BF > 30%) were randomly assigned to a exercise group(EX, n=10) or control group(CON, n=10). The exercise group has performed rope skipping and band exercise for 12 weeks, 3time per week. Exercise intensity was increased gradually, from 40% to 70% of Heart Rate Reserve(HRR) and Rating of Perceived Exertion(RPE) 11-15. GH, IGF-1 and metabolic syndrome rist factors were GH, IGF-1 and metabolic syndrome risk factors were measured pre- and post-exercise program including rope skipping and band exercise. Levels of GH and IGF-1 were significantly increased (p<.01 and p<0.001, respectively) in exercise group after 12 weeks of exercise training. WC and TG were significantly decreased(p<.01) in exercise group after 12 weeks of training. HDL-C was significantly increased(p<.05) in exercise group after 12 weeks of training. In conclusion, rope skipping and band exercise were effective exercise program in improving GH, IGF-1 and metabolic syndrome risk factors in female obese middle school students.

재구성 특성을 갖는 다중대역 이동통신 단말기용 안테나의 설계 및 제작 (Design of a multi-band antenna for a mobile communication terminal with reconfiguration characteristic)

  • 본 논문에서는 스위칭 선로를 이용한 다중대역 이동통신 단말기용 재구성 안테나를 설계 및 제작하였다. 제안된 안테나는 평면형 스트립선로와 접지면에 단락되는 스터브, 그리고 2개의 스위칭 선로를 구성함으로써 제안된 대역 LTE band 13, GSM, K-PCS, WCDMA대역을 각각 만족하도록 설계하였다. 얻어진 최적화된 수치를 사용하여 제안된 안테나를 제작하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과와 측정결과가 어느 정도 일치하고 있는 데이터를 얻었으며 -6dB 임피던스 대역폭을 기준으로 sw1과 sw2의 상태가 ON일 경우 LTE band 13대역을 또한 sw1의 상태가 off, sw2의 상태가 on일 경우 GSM, K-PCS대역을 만족한다. 마지막으로 sw1과 sw2가 off 될 경우 WCDMA대역을 만족하고 있음을 확인하였다. 그리고 제안된 대역 LTE band 13, GSM, K-PCS대역에서 이득과 방사패턴의 특성을 얻었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 외부지역에서 낮은 주파수 대역으로 FDD(Frequency Division Duplex)를 사용하고 내부지역에서 TDD(Time Division Duplex)를 사용하는 이중대역 동작을 하는 멀티모드 시나리오에서 내부지역의 CDMA/TDD의 용량을 조사하였다. 특히, 셀 반경, 데이터 전송률, 타임 슬롯 할당과 같은 다양한 시스템 파라미터의 영향을 분석하였다.

  • The coaxial sample holder with 20mm in diameter and the adaptor from type N connector-to-20mm${\phi}$ coaxial tube are designed and manufactured which have been used for designing and measuring the fabricated microwave absorber. In addition, the measure in method of material constants of the microwave absorbers is described, which is focused on minimizing the error due to the sample's shapes, the fitting conditions, etc. After describing the design method of a single-layed microwave absorber, the microwave absorbers for X-band, C-band and S-band RADARs are designed and fabricated, respectively, which are composed of ferrite, carborn, and binder and have good performance. Futhermore, we develop the high performance microwave absorber in extremely wide-band type for RADAR, which is composed of different material and its mixing ratio and which could cover nearly from 4 to 10 GHz.

Performance of SDR-Based Digital-IF Channelization for Dual-Band DS-CDMA System in Wideband Multipath Channel

  • In this paper, we analyzed the performance of SDR-based dual-band CDMA system in wideband multipath channel employing RAKE receiver with MRC diversity. For the simulation of SDR-based dual-band CDMA system, we used digital IF techniques, polyphase analysis filter bank as channelizer. Also, Remez exchange algorithm is employed in the realization of the digital filter in the polyphase analysis filter bank. For performance analysis of dual-band CDMA system, we consider power loss of IF signal after passing through channel and the filter. Also, the performance for different sampling rates is analyzed.

Suppression of IEEE 802.11a Interference in TH-UWB Systems Using Singular Value Decomposition in Wireless Multipath Channels

  • Narrow-band interference (NBI) from the coexisting narrow-band services affects the performance of ultra wideband (UWB) systems considerably due to the high power of these narrow-band signals with respect to the UWB signals. Specifically, IEEE 802.11a systems which operate around 5 GHz and overlap the band of UWB signals may interfere with UWB systems significantly. In this paper, we suggest a novel NBI suppression technique based on singular value decomposition (SVD) algorithm in time hopping UWB (TH-UWB) systems. SVD is used to approximate the interference which then is subtracted from the received signals. The algorithm precision and closed-form bit error rate (BER) expression are derived in the wireless multipath channel. Comparing with the conventional suppression methods such as a notch filter and a RAKE receiver, the proposed method is simple and robust and especially suitable for UWB systems.

  • This paper shows that the proposed fuzzy-sliding mode for SCARA robot control could reduce chattering problemed in sliding mode control and is robust against parameter uncertainties. It was very small quantities of chattering in the fuzzy-sliding mode control conpared with that in sliding mode control with two dead-band. In here, the sliding mode control with two dead-band is the method to reduce some chattering by changing into a continuous variable lower control input gain when a state value in pahase palne converged sithin two dead-band. But, the fuzzy-sliding mode control for more reducing chattering is the method to change control input by slicing mode into that by fuzzy rule within two dead-band. Simulations show that the effect of reducing chattering by the fuzzy-sliding mode is superior to sliding mode control with two dead-band.

Self-Interference Cancellation for Shared Band Transmission in Nonlinear Satellite Communication Channels

  • For efficient spectral utilization of satellite channels, a shared band transmission technique is introduced in this paper. A satellite transmits multiple received signals from a gateway and terminal in the common frequency band by superimposing the signals. To improve the power efficiency as well as the spectral efficiency, a travelling wave tube amplifier in the satellite should operate near the saturation level. This causes a nonlinear distortion of the superimposed transmit signal. Without mitigating this nonlinear effect, the self-interference cannot be properly cancelled and the desired signal cannot be demodulated. Therefore, an adaptive compensation scheme for nonlinearity is herein proposed with the proper operation scenario. It is shown through simulations that the proposed shared band transmission approach with nonlinear compensation and self-interference cancellation can achieve an acceptable system performance in nonlinear satellite channels.
