옥수수 알곡의 가공처리에 의한 영양소 이용성 향상에 관한 연구 I. 한우에 있어서 옥수수 알곡의 가공처리가 In situ 및 In vitro 소화율에 미치는 영향 (Studies on the Improvement of Utility Value of Corn Grains by Different Processing Methods I. Effects of Different Corn Processing Methods on In situ and In vitro Digestibilities in Hanwoo)

  • 옥수수 알곡(whole corn)을 분쇄(ground corn; GC), 파쇄(cracked corn; CC), 박편(flaked corn; FC) 및 수침(soaked corn; SC)등 가공방법을 달리하여 처리하였을 때 반추가축에 대한 in situ 및 in vitro 소화율에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 본 연구를 수행하였다. 실험 1 : 옥수수 알곡의 가공방법이 건물, 유기물 및 조단백질의 반추위내 in situ 소실율에 미치는 영향 1. 반추위내의 건물, 유기물 및 조단백질의 반추위내 소실율을 관찰하고자 반추위 누관이 장착된 한우 4두를 공시하여 nylon bag 기법으로 0, 2, 6, 12, 24 및 48시간 반추위내에서 각 가공된 옥수수를 배양시켰다. 2. 반추위 배양시간 48시간대에서 분쇄옥수수가 76.1 %로 가장 높은 건물소실율을 보였으며(P<0.01) 다음으로 파쇄 옥수수 (55.1%) 그리고 박편 처리 옥수수 (30.9%)의 순으로 소실율이 높았으며 알곡 옥수수와 수침 옥수수의 경우는 약 12%로 48시간 이후에도 거의 소실이 되지 않음이 관찰되었다. 3. 조단백질의 소실율은 반추위 발효시간 48시간대에서 분쇄 및 파쇄 옥수수의 단백질 소실율이 각각 48 및 38%로 가장 높았지만(P<0.01), 박편 옥수수는 건물 소실율과는 달리 단백질 소실율이 18.9%로써 알곡과 수침 옥수수와 비슷하게 나타났다. 0시간대의 단백질 소실율은 분쇄 옥수수가 소실율이 16.14%로 가장 높았다(P<0.01). 4. 유기물의 소실율은 반추위 발효시간 48시간대에서 분쇄 옥수수가 76.04%로 가장 높았으며(P<0.01) 그 다음이 옥수수를 파쇄한 경우 54.64%였으며 옥수수 알곡과 수침 옥수수가 각각 11.82 및 12.26%로 가장 소실율이 낮았다(P<0.01). 0시간대 소실율은 분쇄와 파쇄 옥수수에서 소실율이 각각 20.27과 18.86%로 가장 높았다(P<0.01). 실험 2 : 옥수수 알곡의 가공방법이 반추위내 미생물에 의한 건물 분해을 및 two-stage in vitro 건물 소화율에 미치는 영향 1. 옥수수 알곡의 가공방법에 의한 반추위내 미생물들의 건물 분해율을 측정하기 위하여 한우로부터 반추위액을 채취하고 미생물을 분리하여 각 사료기질을 0, 2, 6, 12, 24 및 48시간 미생물과 함께 배양시켰다. 48시간 동안 반추위 미생물에 배양시 분쇄 옥수수의 분해율 (65.01%)이 가장 높았다(P<0.01). 옥수수 알곡과 수침 옥수수를 48시간 배양시 건물분해율은 각각 18.83 과 17.26%로 처리구중 가장 낮은 분해율을 보였다 (P<0.01). 2. 한우로부터 분리한 반추위액에 각 사료기질을 two-stage 배양법으로 배양하여 건물 소화율을 측정하였다. 무처리 옥수수가 가장 낮은 소화율 (15.36%)을 보였고(P<0.01), 분쇄, 파쇄 및 박편 옥수수에서 높은 소화율을 보였으며(P<0.01) 각각 86.95, 85.84 및 82.29%로 나타났다.

  • 일본의 기후현의 카미오카광산은 지하 약 1,000 m의 대심도에, 우주에서 도래하는 소립자의 관측과 양자의 붕괴현상 등을 연구하기 위한 실험시설 SUPER-KAMIOKANDE가 건설되었다. 이 시설 설계를 위한 기초 자료의 하나로, 초기지압 측정을 실시하여 건설 예정지의 암반 응력 상태를 파악했다. 측정 방법은, 일본 전력중앙연구소(Central Research Institute of the Electric Power Industry)에서 개발한 8성분 변형률 게이지를 이용한 공경변화법, Sugahara와 Obara가 개발한 16성분 구면 게이지를 이용한 구면 공저변형법, 오스트레일리아의 CSIRO에 의해 개발된 Hollow Inclusion Cell을 이용한 공벽변형률법이다. 3종류의 방법에 의해 얻어진 결과가 일치하지는 않았지만, 6응력성분의 평균치를 이용하여 주응력 방향 및 크기를 결정하였다.

흡수식 냉동시스템의 고장현상 분석과 진단 (Fault Symptom Analysis and Diagnosis for a Single-Effect Absorption Chiller)

  • In this study, fault symptoms were simulated and analyzed for a single-effect absorption chiller. The fault patterns of fault detection parameters were tabulated using the fault symptom simulation results. Fault detection and diagnosis by a process history-based method were performed for the in-situ experiment of a single-effect absorption chiller. Simulated fault modes for the in-situ experimental study are the decreases in cooling water and chilled water mass flow rates. Five no-fault reference models for fault detection of a single-effect absorption chiller were developed using fault-free steady-state data. A sensitivity analysis of fault detection using the normalized distance method was carried out with respect to fault progress. When mass flow rates of the cooling and chilled water decrease by more than 19.3% and 17.8%, respectively, the fault can be detected using the normalized distance method, and COP reductions are 6.8% and 4.7%, respectively, compared with normal operation performance. The pattern recognition method for fault diagnosis of a single-effect absorption chiller was found to indicate each failure mode accurately.

해상풍력발전단지 건설 시 해양미고결지반 물성 파악을 위한 실험 연구 (An Experimental Study on Properties of Seabed Unconsolidated Sediment for Wind Power System Construction)

  • When the wind power system is planned to construct, it is important to understand the physical, chemical and mechanical properties of sediment. Especially, If it is the seabed unconsolidated sediment, we need to experiment on sediment through seabed unconsolidated sediment test and sediment survey. Because the sediment's properties are different as its formation, accumulation and load, unconsolidated sediment is difficult to be expected to its behavior. So we can estimate suitability for mechanical material and decrease the uncertainty through seabed unconsolidated sediment test. Seabed unconsolidated sediment test can be experimented in laboratory or in-situ as purpose, in-situ condition, economic problem. In this study, we sampled the seabed unconsolidated sediment at offshore around Korea Maritime University and measured properties of sediment through the laboratory test, showed the effect on physical properties of seabed unconsolidated sediment when the wind power system is planned to construction.

Investigating creep behavior of Ni-Cr-W alloy pressurized tube at 950 ℃ by using in-situ creep testing system

  • The creep behavior of Ni-Cr-W alloy at 950 ℃ has been investigated by a novel creep testing system which is capable of in-situ measurement of strain. Tubular specimens were pressurized with argon gas for effective stresses up to 32 MPa. Experimental results show that the thermal fatigue reduces the creep life of the tubular specimens and with the introduction of thermal cycling fatigue the primary stage disappears and the creep rate higher than the pure thermal creep (without thermal fatigue). Also the creep behavior of Ni-Cr-W alloy doesn't consist in the secondary stage. A new creep equation has been derived and implemented into finite element method. The results from the finite element analyses are in good agreement with the creep experiment.

고분자전해질형 연료전지의 단순 채널 리브 형상에서의 물방울 가시화 연구 (Visualization of Water Droplets in the Simple Flow Channel and Rib Geometry for Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs))

  • The effective water management in a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is one of the key strategies for improving cell performance and durability. In this work, an ex situ measurement was carried out to understand the water droplet behavior on the surface of gas diffusion layer (GDL) as a fundamental study for establishing novel water management. For that purpose, simplified cell including one rib and two flow channels was designed and fabricated. Using this ex situ device, the water droplet emergence through the GDL of the PEMFC was emulated to understand liquid water transport through the porous diffusion medium. Through the visualization experiment, the emergence and growth of water droplets at the channel/GDL interface are mainly observed with the surface characteristics of GDL (SGL 10BA, 24BA) and rib when the liquid water passes through the GDL and is expelled to the flow channel. It is expected that the results obtained from this study can contribute to the better understanding on the water droplet behavior (emergence and removal) in the flow channels of PEMFC.

Synthesis of Pd/Cu-Fe polymetallic nanoparticles for in situ reductive degradation of p-nitrophenol

  • With a small particle size, specific surface area and chemical nature, Pd/Cu-Fe nanocomposites can efficiently remove the organic compounds. In order to understand the applicability for in situ remediation of contaminated groundwater, the degradation of p-nitrophenol by Pd/Cu-Fe nanoparticles was investigated. The degradation results demonstrated that these nanoparticles could effectively degrade p-nitrophenol and near 90% of degradation efficiency was achieved by Pd/Cu-Fe nanocomposites for 120 min treatment. The efficiency of degradation increased significantly when the Pd content increased from 0.05 wt.% and 0.10 wt.% to 0.20 wt.%. Meanwhile, the removal percentage of p-nitrophenol increased from 75.4% and 81.7% to 89.2% within 120 min. Studies on the kinetics of p-nitrophenol that reacts with Pd/Cu-Fe nanocomposites implied that their behaviors followed the pseudo-first-order kinetics. Furthermore, the batch experiment data suggested that some factors, including Pd/Cu-Fe availability, temperature, pH, different ions (SO42-, PO43-, NO3-) and humic acid content in water, also have significant impacts on p-nitrophenol degradation efficiency. The recyclability of the material was evaluated. The results showed that the Pd/Cu-Fe nanoparticles have good recycle performance, and after three cycles, the removal rate of p-nitrophenol is still more than 83%.

Ship Detection for KOMPSAT and RADARSAT/SAR Images: Field Experiments

  • Two different sensors (here, KOMPSAT and RADARSAT) are considered for ship detection, and are used to delineate the detection performance for their data. The experiments are set for coastal regions of Mokpo Port and Ulsan Port and field experiments on board pilot boat are conducted to collect in situ ship validation information such as ship type and length. This paper introduce mainly the experiment result of ship detection by both RADARSAT SAR imagery and landbased RADAR data, operated by the local Authority of South Korea, so called vessel traffic system (VTS) radar. Fine imagery of Ulsan Port was acquired on June 19, 2004 and in-situ data such as wind speed and direction, taking pictures of ships and natural features were obtained aboard a pilot ship. North winds, with a maximum speed of 3.1 m/s were recorded. Ship's position, size and shape and natural features of breakwaters, oil pipeline and alongside ship were compared using SAR and VTS. It is shown that KOMPSAT/EOC has a good performance in the detection of a moving ship at a speed of 7 kts or more an hour that ship and its wake can be imaged. The detection capability of RADARSAT doesn't matter how fast ship is running and depends on a ship itself, e.g. its material, length and type. Our results indicate that SAR can be applicable to automated ship detection for a VTS and SAR combination service.

암반설계정수 산정을 위한 증거이론의 적용 (Application of Evidence Theory for the Evaluation of Mechanical Rock Mass Properties)

  • The evaluation process of rock mass properties intrinsically contains some uncertainty due to the inhomogeneity of rock mass and the measurement error. Although various empirical methods for the determination of rock mass properties were suggested, there is no way of integrating various information on rock mass properties except averaging. For these reasons, this research introduces evidence theory which can model epistemic uncertainty and yield reasonable rock mass properties through combining various information such as empirical equations, in-situ test results, and so on. Through the application of evidence theory to the real site investigation and in situ experiment results, an interval of deformation modulus, cohesion and friction angle of rock mass were obtained. The ratios between lower and upper bound of those properties ranges from 1.6 to 3.6. Numerical analyses of circular hole using the properties for TYPE-2 rock mass were carried out. The magnitude or size of plastic region and radial displacement in case of lower bound properties is about 4 times larger than that of upper bound properties.

  • 염소이온 침투에 의한 콘크리트의 내구성 저하를 고찰하기 위하여 빠른 시간 내에 염소이온의 침투성을 추정할 수 있는 실험 방법론 및 이론적 해석방법이 다수 제안되었으며 이를 고려한 콘크리트의 내구성 설계 시스템의 개발은 활발히 연구되어 왔다. 그러나, 실제 환경에서 공용 중인 대다수의 콘크리트 구조물에는 환경, 하중 조건, 재료 및 시공 상의 이유로 균열이 존재함에도 불구하고, 대부분의 연구들이 비균열된 콘크리트를 대상으로 염소이온 확산계수의 추정 및 염소이온 프로파일의 예측 등에 집중되었다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 콘크리트의 미세균열이 염소이온 침투에 미치는 영향을 고찰하기 위한 연구의 일환으로 장, 단기 침투 실험결과를 고찰하고 이를 토대로 해석기법 개발의 전략을 수립하고자 한다.
