Bisphenol A-induced overall immune downregulation in mice

  • This study was undertaken to assess overall effects of bisphenol A, a monomer widely used in manufacturing polycarbonate plastics or epoxy resin, exposure on immune system of mice. For in vitro evaluation, serial concentration of SPA was added into culture of various immune cells from normal female ICR mice, and for in vivo or ex vivo assessment, mice were orally exposed to BPA dissolved in olive oil as doses of 500, 1000, 2000 mg/g b.w. for acute expose or 100, 500, 1000 mg/kg/day b.w. 5days a week for subacute exposure.   • Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a third leading cause of cancer-related death in cancer patients. Sporadic and inflammation-related colon carcinogenesis are major mechanism of colorectal cancer. In vivo CRC models have been developed and implicated to understand their mechanisms upon a different type of CRC. Moreover, recently animal models have played important roles in chemopreventive and preclinical trials over the years. In this mini-review, the aim is to introduce various animal models of CRC and help the understanding to establish in vivo experimental plans according to the cancer type of CRC.

  • PCBs are wide spread persistent environmental pollutants that exert a broad spectrum of toxic effects. PCBs includes 209 possible congeners differing in extent and position of chlorination of their aromatic rings. Every Single Cell Clones from Cancer Cell Lines Growing Tumors In Vivo May Not Invalidate the Cancer Stem Cell Concept

  • We present the result of our research on the tumorigenic ability of single cell clones isolated from an aggressive murine breast cancer cell line in a matched allografting mouse model. Tumor formation is basically dependent on the cell numbers injected per location. We argue that in vivo tumor formation from single cell clones, isolated in vitro from cancer cell lines, may not provide conclusive evidence to disprove the cancer stem cell (CSC) theory without additional data.

  • In this paper, the swept source optical coherence tomography system has realized using a free-space interferometer based on a beam splitter. Personal computer has completed the control for tunable wavelength laser digitally and the B-scan motor as well. From each experiment for an onion and a salmon egg, we confirmed that the in vivo epidermal cross-sectional images for them can be obtained appropriately.

  • 목적: 피부조직과 같은 미세 인체구조 연구를 위해 고해상도 3T MRI 시스템에 적합한 고분해능의 RF surface coil을 개발하고 있다. In vivo 연구를 위한 여러 parameter를 최적화하여 기능영상에도 부합된다. 비침습적인 In vivo 검사에 의한 세포수준의 극 미세구조의 연구가 가능해짐으로써 과거 시행하던 침습적인 생검없이 각종질환의 진단적 접근이 병리학적 수준으로 향상되어 질병의 정확한 진단이 가능해지게 될 것이다.

  • We tested the in vivo ability of a DNA chip to detect virus-specific genes from virus-infected olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus and rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss. Target cDNA was obtained from total RNA of virus infected cell lines by reverse transcription (RT) and was labeled with fluorescent dye (Cy5-dUTP). The results show the successful detection of infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV) and viral hemorrhagic septicaemia virus (VHSV) genes in the virus-infected fishes.
