Due to limited radio resource, an effective paging strategy is essential for improving the utility of radio channels. In current mobile communication networks, when a mobile-terminated call occurs, the network locates the mobile by paging all cells within the location area simultaneously. In this study, we introduces paging strategies that can page some cells or only one cell within the location area to reduce paging cost on radio channels using paging agents. We propose another new paging strategy that can page only one cell within the location area and may have better performance. We also compare the performance of our proposed paging strategy with the performance of the current simultaneous paging strategy and some new paging strategies using paging agents. This paper suggests the most effective paging strategy using mathematical models. The result of this research will be used to select a proper paging strategy in the mobile communication networks.

This paper proposes improvement on sensorless vector control performance of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with sliding mode observer. An adaptive observer gain and second order cascade low-pass filter (LPF) were used to improve the estimation accuracy of the rotor position and speed. The adaptive observer gain was applied to suppress the chattering intensity and obtained by using the Lyapunov's stability criterion. The second order cascade LPF was designed for the system to escalate the filtering performance of the back-emf estimation. Furthermore, genetic algorithm was used to optimize the system PI controller's performance. Simulation results showed the effectiveness of the suggested improvement strategy. Moreover, the strategy was useful for the sensorless vector control of PMSM to operate on the low-speed area.

The purpose of this study is to seek ways for more efficient and successful Management strategy by examining the environmental changes and risk factors of child care centers, and preparing the measures for improvement, aiming at more effective operation of childcare facilities. This study analyzed through literature and case studies how the environment has changed in child care centers and which safety accidents and cases occur in those facilities, and searched the ways for Managemeut strategy to effectively operate those facilities.

유전자 알고리즘은 적자 생존과 자연친화의 유전이론을 기초로 하여 이루어진 탐색기법이다. 유전자 알고리즘은 미분 정보 등과 같은 부가적인 정보없이 수렴함으로 전역적 최적값을 탐색하는 강인한 탐색기법으로 알려져 있다. 유전자 알고리즘은 연속형의 설계변수를 가지는 문제에서 세대가 계속 진행되어도 목적함수의 개선이 없이 조기에 수렴하는 경우가 있다. 또한 전역적 최적값 근처에서 수렴하지 못하고 목적함수값이 진동하여 수렴속도가 떨어지는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 위와 같은 유전자 알고리즘의 단점을 보완하고자 재시동 조건과 엘리트 보존방법을 제안하였다. 수정된 유전자 알고리즘의 유용성을 검증하기 위해 3부재 트러스와 평면응력 외팔보에 적용하여 수렴 속도의 향상을 확인하였다.

본 연구는 최근 도출되고 있는 PMIS의 적용과 성숙도에 대한 다양한 평가와 개선에 대한 다각도의 수요와, 기업경쟁력을 위한 전략수행을 지원하는 정보시스템의 수요에 대응하기 위하여 출발하였으며, 그 대상을 전략수행단계의 핵심개선사항에 근거하여 프로세스와 정보시스템을 진단하고 개선하는 과정에 대한 것으로 제한하여 수행하였다. 연구의 목적은 PMIS를 기업전략의 수행과 그 변화를 고려하여 진단하고 지속적인 개선을 수행할 수 있는 방안의 제시와, 기업전략의 성과지표와 핵심프로세스 중심의 접근을 통하여 프로세스의 개선과 PMIS 평가 및 개선을 지원방안을 도출하고자 하였다. 또한, 전략의 실행단계와 수행조직에서 프로세스를 개선하고 IT자원을 개선하는 기반으로 IT Architecture 도입절차를 예시하여 개선요구, 성숙도 진단 및 개선사항 도출, 개선사항 반영 등의 절차에 대하여 세부 과정을 제시하였다.

A question answering (QA) system can be built using multiple QA modules that can individually serve as a QA system in and of themselves. This paper proposes a learnable, strategy-driven QA model that aims at enhancing both efficiency and effectiveness. A strategy is learned using a learning-based classification algorithm that determines the sequence of QA modules to be invoked and decides when to stop invoking additional modules. The learned strategy invokes the most suitable QA module for a given question and attempts to verify the answer by consulting other modules until the level of confidence reaches a threshold. In our experiments, our strategy learning approach obtained improvement over a simple routing approach by 10.5% in effectiveness and 27.2% in efficiency.

The purpose of this study was to develop instructional strategy for newspaper-based science writing and to examine the effect of its application. The target unit was 'change of weather' and 'a variety of gas' in the sixth grade of elementary school, and the teaching strategy was composed of 3 stages-writing including realistic, interpretative and comprehensive writing. The result of applying this strategy into actual classrooms was as follows. First, it was proven that the science writing strategy using newspaper articles actually helped improving science process skills of learners, in particular, integrated process skills. Second, this strategy for science writing changed the scientific attitude of learners positively. While they read the newspaper articles, their thinking became more elaborate and systemized, which seemed to serve to foster their openness, criticism, and perseverance. Third, the science writing strategy did not contribute to the improvement of learners' science study achievement. To improve the understanding of scientific concepts and principles of learners, it is needed that teaching program combines with argument-based activity organically. The above-mentioned findings show that this instructional strategy using newspaper articles can be applicable as one of effective methods in science writing.

Globalization of economy brings both opportunities and threats especially for companies in developing countries such as Korea. Globalization is an opportunity because it may expand the size of market for the company where globalization brings a threat for developing global competitiveness. If the company has already built competitive advantage in its business domain, the company can easily transfer market growth to profit improvement. However, if the company has not developed competitive advantage, globalization of economy will give a serious threat for the survivor of the company. The company might lose its own domestic market share. For the less famous brand of product or company name, international expansion is a challenging strategy. The study evaluated organizational performance of companies that try international expansion by utilizing Miles and Snow's strategy typology. We clustered organizations based on their strategy typology (prospector, analyzer, defender, and reactor) in view of the level of product diversification, new product development instances, level of localization, and autonomy of foreign subsidiary. With the strategy typology, we evaluated international strategy in view of product competitiveness, marketing strategy, human resource strategy, and organizational strategy. The regression result demonstrates that the performance of the company is significantly higher when the company employs prospector strategy. We also found out that product quality and emphasis for developed countries in international expansion are the most important factors for success.
