비구면 광학계를 적용한 LED 조명의 광학성능 향상에 관한 연구(I) (A Study on Optical Efficiency Improvement of LED-lighting Adopting Aspherical Optical System(I))

  • Recently, Light Emitting Diode (LED) has many advantages in comparison with conventional light sources; low power consumption, long lifetime, and less environmental pollution. Therefore, the use of LED is increasing rapidly. In general, however, spherical lens is used in LED-lighting which cause many problems induces by optical aberration of spherical lens; low illumination, yellow belt, unpleasant feeling in human eye. As a solution of these problem, aspherical lens can be employed. This study reported the improvement of LED-lighting performance by adopting aspherical lens. From the commercial program, $LightTools^{TM}$, the optical problem were ensured. And then, to improve these problem, optimum aspheric form was designed using Code $V^{TM}$.

목모 세라믹 보드용 알루미노-실리케이트계 무기 바인더의 물리적 특성 향상에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study for improvement in physical properties on the alumino-silicate binder for wood wool ceramic board)

  • It is known that cement production not only consumes large amount of energy but also contributes substantially to the green house gas emission. Therefore, there is a demand to develope a new technology to produce energy efficient and environmental conscious cements. The most recent, wood wool ceramic board is being applied in various building material field, for example thermal insulating and acoustic absorption material. This paper focused on improvement of alumino-silicate binder's physical properties for wood wool ceramic board. As the result of this experiment, what we could obtain best fitted alumino-silicate binder's properties such as initial setting time, flow and compressive strength of 3 days aged, was 58min, 110% and 66.0Mpa. This result can be applicable to commercial wood wool ceramic board.

  • Degradation characteristics of cathodoluminescence (CL) of ZnS:Ag,Cl phosphor were investigated with measurements of CL and photoluminescence (PL). Phosphoric acid treatment was performed to phosphor particles in order to improve CL degradation of phosphor screen that occurred during panel sealing process, and we will discuss mechanisms of degradation and improvement of luminescence mainly with help of AES (auger electron spectroscopy) analysis.

  • We have analyzed the cause of black "mura" and measured it in prism light-guide plate (LGP). Properties of components used in a back light. unit (BLU) have changed by Simulation Tool. We get major factor of black "mura" for improvement in prism LGP. For the improvement of black "mura", removal of brightness "mura" at input light part must precede preferentially because of reflection characteristics of the prism LGP. Removal of brightness "mura" is improved by changing of input light part in LGP and dispersion treatment.

  • In the development of a propellant tank using liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen, the improvement of microcrack resistance of carbon/epoxy composites is necessary for the application of a composite material to tank structures. In this research, two types of carbon/epoxy composites with different matrix systems were tested to measure interlaminar shear strength (ILSS), one of the material properties to evaluate fiber-matrix interface adhesion indirectly. Short beam specimens were tested inside an environmental chamber at room temperature(RT) and at cryogenic temperature( - 150 $^{\circ}C$) respectively. Results showed that the matrix system with large amount of bisphenol-A and CTBN modified rubber had good performance at cryogenic temperature.

AZ31 마그네슘합금판의 온간 디프드로잉 성형성해석 (The Simulations on the Formability of AZ31 Magnesium Alloy Sheet in Warm Deep Drawing)

  • The material used is a commercial magnesium based alloy AZ31(Mg-3Al-1Zn)sheet with a thickness of 1.0mm. Uniaxial tension tests at warm temperature were carried out to investigate the material characteristics of K, m, and n. A warm drawing process with a local heating and cooling technique was developed to improve formability in this study with results of uniaxial tension tests because it is very difficult for Mg alloy to deform at room temperature by the conventional method. The die and blank holder were heated up, while the punch was water-cooled during deformation. FE simulations considering heat transfer were executed with Mg alloy to investigate the Improvement of deep drawability. For the assessment of improvement those were compare with the results of no considering heat transfer and room temperature.

하상오염물 제거에 의한 수질개선효과 수치모델링 (Numerical Simulation of Water Quality Enhancement by Removal of Contaminated Bed Material)

  • This study has an objective to estimate effect on water-quality enhancement by removal of contaminated river-bed material using a two-dimensional numerical modeling in the Seonakdong River, the Pyunggang River and the Maekdo River. RMA2 and RMA4 models were used for flow and contaminant transport simulation, respectively. After the analysis of the effects of flow restoration plan for the Seonakdong River system made by Lee et al (2008), simulation have been performed about scenarios which contains operations of the Daejeo Gate, the Noksan Gate, the Makdo Gate (on planning), and the Noksan Pumping Station. Because there is no option for elution from bed sediment in the RMA4 model, a simple technique has been used for initial condition modification for elution. The analyses revealed that the effect on water quality improvement due to dredging of bed sediment seemed to be less than 10 % of the total effect. The most efficient measure for the water quality improvement of the river system was the linked operation of water-gates and pumping station.

  • The effects of heat treatment on the electrical properties of strained-Si/SiGe-on-insulator (SGOI) devices were examined. We proposed the optimized heat treatment processes for improving the back interfacial electrical properties in SGOI-MOSFET. By applying the additional pre-RTA (rapid thermal annealing) before gate oxidation step and the post-RTA after source/drain dopant activation step, the electrical properties of strained-Si channel on $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$ layer were greatly improved, which resulting the improvement of the driving current, transconductance, and leakage current of SGOI-MOSFET.

AC PDP의 고온 오방전 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of the High Temperature Misfiring in AC PDP)

  • Misfiring is usually observed at high ambient temperature in plasma display panel (PDP). This leads to bad image quality and limits the productivity of PDP industry. In this paper, experimental observations and improvement on the misfiring at high ambient temperature have been studied. In order to reduce the high ambient temperature misfiring different slope of ramp erase pulse corresponding to the temperature are applied. The experimental results show that the suggested method is quite effective for reducing the high temperature misfiring phenomena.

  • In order to reduce driving power consumption, we propose and fabricate a new structure of asymmetric SOI 1${\times}$2 thermo-optic switch that has a back side silicon trenched structure. Compared to conventional SOI thermo optic switches without heat sink structure, it shows an improvement of switching power reduction from about 4 watt to 1.8 watt without sacrificing cross talk of about 20 ㏈ at the light wavelength of 1.55 $\mu\textrm{m}$. Here we also described the main design consideration and fabrication procedure for the proposed device.
