The purposes of this study were to identity the effects of shopping orientation and fashion propensity on imported cosmetics repurchase intention of single women. Self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection from 310 single women aged 25-34. The results were as follows: 1. The factors of shopping orientation of single women were pleasure, ostentation, economy, individuality, convenience of location, and convenience of service. And the factors of fashion propensity were fashion interest and fashion leadership. 2. Single women with higher pleasure pursuit were younger, spent pocket money and purchased imported cosmetics more. Ostentation pursuiters had higher incomes, but economy pursuiters were younger, spent pocket money and purchased imported cosmetics less. Individuality pursuiters were older, and spent more pocket money and posessed imported cosmetics more. Convenience of location pursuiters posessed more imported cosmetics, but convenience of service pursuiters were highly educated. Single women with higher fashion interest were younger, higher income and education level, and posessed imported cosmetics more. And single women with higher fashion leadership were highly educated and purchased imported cosmetics more. 3. Imported cosmetics repurchase intention were effected by pocket money, purchasing power and amount of imported cosmetics, pleasure pursuit, fashion interest positively, but economy pursuit negatively.
This study examines the effects of competency and service orientation of imported fashion luxury brands salespersons on the organizational commitment and service delivery level. Questionnaire data from 162 salespersons of imported fashion luxury brands were analyzed. The results were summarized as follows. First, self-management ability, professional executive ability, and the friendly attitude of six competency factors had significant effects on organizational commitment. Second, professional executive ability, self-management ability, and friendly attitude of the six competency factors had significant effects on service delivery level. Third, all factors of service orientation had significant influences on organizational commitment. Finally, special treatment/awareness of needs and instant response/communicative skill of three service orientation factors had significant influences on the service delivery level.
The purpose of this study was to investigate product evaluation on consumer's buying behavior of domestic & imported golf wear brands. The questionnaires were sent to 200 consumers who play golf. The 119 data were analyzed by mean, t-test, ANOVA and chi-square. The results of the study were as follows: There were significant differences on consumers' evaluation of apparel quality on fabric and style between groups. Consumers evaluated that the imported golf wears made of more soft, light and unique fabric than domestic, and had a unique and characteristic style. The evaluation of apparel quality according to demographic information has significant difference. Consumers(46-55 ages, business managers and professional) evaluated imported brands were made of soft and light fabric. Consumers(business managers) buying imported brand evaluated dry-cleaning was inconvenient. Consumers who engaged in service industry evaluated domestic brands were easy to coordinate with other items.
The purposes of this research were to segment consumer groups according to sportswear benefits sought and to find the differences among the groups in regard to domestic vs imported brand attitudes, internet vs department store attitudes, and sportswear purchasing behavior. The subjects used for the research were 773 male and female consumers who were residents in Seoul. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, and Duncan test. The results showed that there were four sportswear benefit segments: figure compensation/ ostentation, individuality, comfort/function, and youth-oriented groups. Statistical analyses showed that the four sportswear benefit segments were different in regard to imported brand attitudes, department store attitudes, and sportswear purchasing behavior. For example, figure compensation/ ostentation segment had more positive attitude toward imported brands and department stores, considered design and advertisement important as sportswear selection criteria, and had a highest expenditure on sportswear purchase. The implications of the research were discussed.
The purpose of this study was to identify imported apparel selection behavior according to Mongol women's conspicuous consumption orientation. A self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection. First, factors of conspicuous consumption orientation were high price and luxury brand, fashion style, altruism, prestige, and brand. Mongol women were segmented into the price and prestige pursuit group, the fashion and brand pursuit group, the altruism pursuit group, and the conspicuous consumption retard group. Second, factors of motivating the selection of imported apparel were value, symbolism, and aesthetics, and Mongol women considered the aesthetics of imported apparel important. Married Mongol women in their 30's chose imported apparel because of its symbolism. More married women selected imported apparel because of its value and more educated women selected imported apparel because of its aesthetics. Women with higher apparel expenditure selected imported apparel because of its value and symbolism. Quality, diversity, and the fit of imported apparel were the selection criteria for Mongol women and they were satisfied with the quality, diversity, and fit of the imported apparel. Brand awareness was very important when selecting imported apparel but the women's satisfaction level was significantly low. Third, more women in their 30's, unmarried, or with a lower educational level were found in the price and the prestige pursuit group, and the price and prestige pursuit group and the altruism pursuit group selected imported apparel for its aesthetics. More unmarried women in their 30's with a higher educational level were found in the fashion and brand pursuit group and selected imported apparel for its value, symbolism, and aesthetics. More unmarried women in their 20's with a higher educational level were found in the altruism pursuit group, but unmarried women in their 20's with a lower educational level were found in the conspicuous consumption retard group.
This study was to identify the dimensions of consumers' attitudes toward imported casual brands. Another objectives were to examine consumers' attitude according to the preference group, and to ascertain the imported casual brand images. The 55 Likert type questions were selected through the results of self-questionnaire analyses. 520 females aged between 20 to 29 in Pusan responded to the second questionnaire of consumers' attitudes and brand images toward imported casual brands. The results were as follows: 1. For final factor analysis, 56 selected from 85 questions were subjected to the principal component analyses with orthogonal rotation after extraction of 5 major factors. 2. Five dimensions are brand's uniqueness and good quality, high prestige, incongruity with native emotion and ethnocentrism, conspicuous consumption, and reasonable purchasing advantages. These factors explained 45.0% of total variance. 3. Five dimensions were different according to the degree of preference. For preference group, they purchased the imported casual brands by uniqueness, good quality and reasonable purchasing advantages. For non-preference group, they disliked the imported brands by incongruity with native emotion, ethnocentrism, and conspicuous consumption. 4. Preference group had 5.47, whereas non-preference group had 1.76 pieces of imported casual brands for this 2 years. This result suggests that to develop the domestic brands with international uniqueness, good quality, and high prestige, and to improve according to preference group are necessary.
The purposes of this study are to segment female X-generation consumers by the types of conspicuous clothing consumption behavior and to examine the differences among consumer groups with self-respect, the influence of reference group, materialism, and demographic characteristics. A questionnaire was developed and 18-35 year female living in Seoul responded to a questionnaire. The 499 subjects were analyzed. The results can be summarized as follows : Respondents divided into five consumption groups. such as non-conspicuous clothing consumption group, fashion-oriented clothing consumption group, well-known brand and expensive clothing consumption group, imitation c1othing in well-known brand consumption group and imported clothing consumption group. This study provides size information on current imported medical compression stockings in Korea. A total 20 brands from 6 countries imported and sold in the Korean on-off line markets were selected for this study and the sizing system of medical compression stockings was researched. The results of this study were as follows: there were size differences among different USA brands according to product type or compression class of medical compression stockings. To establish the sizing system for medical stockings of the German brands, the basic body measurements standard was set as cA, cY, cB, cB, cC, cD, cE, cF, cG, cH, cT, lD, lG, and lT. Italian brands developed the sizing system for medical compression stockings by compression class. In the Swiss brands, size types were sub-divided as 'Normal', 'Plus', 'Short', and 'Long'. The sizing 1 were confined within very narrow limits. There were differences of the basic body measurements between Taiwan brands. The results of the comparison of the size range of the imported brands with Size Korea (KATS, 2010) by two-way size distribution shows that the sizing systems of the imported brands were unsuitable for Koreans. To enhance the suitability of the sizing system for medical compression stockings, a new sizing system for Korean adult males and females needs to be established.
This study investigated country-of-origin effects by comparatively analyzing consumer attitude toward country-of-origin of imported apparel according to apparel product attributes. Fishbein attitude model was used. The effects of consumer characteristics such as attitude of consumers toward general imported apparel and demorgraphic variables on consumer attitude toward country-of-origin were also identified. Italy, U.S.A, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea were used as country of origin. Data were obtained from male and female subjects(total 570) aged mostly 20's. Statistical analysis showed: 1) Apparel product attributes were classified into 3 factors, expressive, instrumental and brand, which are the order of importance for purchasing. 2) Consumer indicated more favorable attitude toward 'made in 'Italy' nd made in 'Korea' in each attribute factor. 'Made in Korea' roducts were evaluated highest in expressive attribute factor but less favored than 'made in Italy' n brand attribute factor. 'Made in U.S.A and made in Japan' were evaluated favorable in instrumental factor, whereas 'made in Hong Kong' had the least favorable attitude in every attribute factor. 3) The uniqueness and good quality of imported apparel appeared to be the most strong variable in predicting consumer attitude toward each country-of-origin. 4) The attitude toward country of origin was different according to sex and age.
The purpose of this study is to search the level of localization strategy of imported brands in Korean Market, to investigate relationship between the brand characteristics and localization strategy, and to study the case about localization strategy of the brand selected according to the type of brand. The survey research was employed and for the data analysis, descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, and multiple-regression were used. For the case study, interview with the person who works in the each kind of company was used. The results of this study were as follows: Firstly, the level of localization strategy is found in order price, place, promotion and product. Secondly among the brand characteristics, type of brand, proportion of garments, price zone, launching time, number of shop are related with localization strategy, but turnover and number of the staff are not. Thirdly, license brand has the characteristics like as national brands and the differences between the branch and the agent is confidence and communication that are the basic elements of localization. This study can help national brands to refer the localization strategy and provide the understanding of localization strategy of imported brands in Korean fashion market.
