Of the 23 foodservice quality attributes, the factors of 'food quality', 'employee service', 'hygiene and safety', 'customer orientation' and 'operation quality' were induced from a scale purification process through the exploratory factor analysis. The level of importance (p<0.01) of the 'hygiene and safety' factor and 'employee service' factor was not found to be significantly different between the groups. In the level of performance, the factors of 'food service', 'employee service', 'customer orientation' and 'operation quality' were found to be perceived significantly lower than expected by the contractor group. In the importance level, 'food quality', 'employee service', 'hygiene and safety', 'customer orientation' and 'operation quality' were rated by the contractor as 4.03, 4.30, 4.27, 4.01 and 4.12 points, respectively. In contrast, in the performance level, perceived 'food quality', 'employee service', 'hygiene and safety', 'customer orientation' and 'operation quality' were evaluated as 3.57, 3.94, 4.06, 3.83 and 3.95 points, respectively.

According to the results, females had more information on edible insect foods than males (p<0.05), and males gained higher points in trying new foods (p<0.001), overall satisfaction (p<0.001), and purchase intention (p<0.01) than females. Both importance (p<0.05) and satisfaction (p<0.001) about the mean of the choice attributes of edible insects were higher in males than females. The sustenance area showed high importance and high satisfaction, including taste, smell, freshness, sanitation, safety, and shelf-life. Accordingly, to understand edible insect foods properly, it is important to deliver information constantly and publicize them aggressively. In addition, it is necessary to develop various kinds of food made from edible insect foods and functional foods utilizing their nutritive value.

  • Objectives: This study examined the usage status and the degree of satisfaction of university foodservice (UF) perceived by international students in Busan. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted on the utilization of UF, improvement requirements, preference type and recipe, as well as the importance and satisfaction of UF quality attributes as perceived by international students (n=604) at universities in the Busan area between April and June 2017. Results: UF was 'generally satisfied' or 'very satisfied' in about 35.4% of the study population, and 'not very satisfied' or 'not satisfied at all' in approximately 11.5%. Approximately 21.7% said that UF contributed to dietary life 'very much' or 'quite significantly' and 36.4% said 'not very much' or 'not at all'. The largest demand for improvement of UF was 'variety of menu' (52.0%). The most leftover food in UF was kimchi (30.3%) and broth/stew (19.2%), and the major reason for having leftover was 'not to one's taste' (27.8%). After dividing the foodservice quality attributes into 5 factors - food quality and price, sanitation, convenience, physical environment, and service environment - and analyzing the importance and satisfaction of each factor, it was shown that satisfaction was generally lower than the degree of importance. Sanitation factor was high for both importance and satisfaction of UF, while convenience factor was high for the importance but low for satisfaction of UF. Four variables in the food quality and price factor ('food taste', 'freshness of food', 'nutritive value of food', and 'reasonable price') and 3 variables in the convenience factor ('variety of menu', 'prompt food service', and 'display of the meals for the day') had high importance but low satisfaction, showing the need for an improvement on these areas. Conclusions: Based on the study results, it is necessary to improve the food quality, as well as the price and convenience factors, and to provide various menus to increase the satisfaction of UF in international students.

  • With the revitalization of non-face-to-face transactions, the difference between the size of branches and transaction costs among securities firms has decreased, and the importance of the stock trading system has increased. In particular, the mobile trading system has become more important due to the increase in the proportion of transactions in the mobile trading system, which is widely used by individual investors, and the increase in the number of individual investors after COVID-19. However, user-centered usability studies are insufficient as usability studies on mobile trading systems are conducted through literature surveys or survey methods. Therefore, in this study, a repertory grid technique that finds user's empirical perception was used to find out user-centered usability attributes. The usability attributes of the mobile trading system from the user's point of view were elicited, and the difference in the usability attributes in terms of frequency and importance between the user group and the developer group was identified.

  • A study was conducted to develop a better classification method of Consumer Attributes that can enhance user-centered product design process. A modified QFD(Quality Function Deployment) survey form based upon Fuzzy set theory was proposed which contains 9 steps of importance level, and Certainty and Necessity function to improve the reliability of extracted consumer attributes. To verify the betterment and advantage of proposed classification method, a series of questionnaire survey was performed. Thirty male and 30 female university students were participated in the survey using a VCR as a target product. The result of the study showed that 80% of subjects were preferred the proposed classification over existing method. A cluster analysis was performed to further verify the betterment of the proposed method. The result also supported that the proposed classification method is more reliable and enhanced method in extracting consumer attributes and can be applied in the product design.

  • It is well known that the Kano model measures customer satisfaction and classifies quality attributes into must-be, attractive as well as one-dimensional. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the dynamics of e-learning quality attributes by applying the proposed method using Kano's satisfaction index in the rapidly changing online learning environment. For this, the current study examined 27 e-learning quality attributes and conducted a comparative study using Kano's results obtained in 2013 and 2020. The result shows that the dynamics of quality attributes suggested by Kano(2001) is confirmed in the case of e-learning. The proposed approach shows better results in terms of Kano's direct classification method, and has potential application areas such as IPA(Importance-Performance Analysis) in the area of risk assemement. Some suggestions for better understanding of the proposed SI-DI diagram are also included in this study.
