Dynamic analysis and control of a robot leg with a shock absorber (완충기를 가진 로봇다리의 동역학 해석 및 동적 보행제어)

  • Human beings usually absorb a shock from terrain during walking through the damping effects of joints, muscles and skin. With this analogy, a robot-leg with a shock absorber is built to absorb the impact forces at its foot during high-speed walking on irregular terrain. To control the hip position while walking, the dynamic controller suitable for high speed walking is designed and implemented based on a dynamic model by Kane's equation. The hip position tracking performances of various controllers (PID controller, computed torque controller and feedforward torque controller) are compared through the experiments of the real robot-leg.

  • The most landing gear use oleo-pneumatic shock strut to absorb the impact energy during touchdown. The shock strut is composed of the oil damper and the gas spring, especially the oil damper provides resistance force which is proportional to the square of landing speed. In case of high landing speed, the abnormal peak load can be occurred and transferred to the airframe structure. To prevent this, the pressure-relief valve is used to limit the damping force under the specific level. In this paper, it is presented the design process to find optimal damping and analysis results using pressure-relief valve.

  • A landing gear absorbs the impact energy during the touchdown and it generally consists of an oleo-pneumatic shock absorber and structural components. It should be designed not only to satisfy the static and fatigue strength requirements but to have the sufficient shock absorbing efficiency. The design loads and shock absorbing performance are to be validated by tests, which is required by MIL Spec and FAR, etc. This paper presents the development procedures from the design requirements to the qualification tests and technical points to be considered, with examples of the helicopter landing gear development.

  • In this study, Shock Absorption performance of Magneto-rheological elastomer(MRE) is identified through the drop impact test. Magneto-rheological materials are divided into two groups by MR fluid in fluid state and MR elastomer in solid state like rubber. The stiffness characteristics of Magneto-rheological material can be changed as magnetic field is applied. The impact loads in MR elastomer were measured under weight of impactor. Experiment results are shown through the experiments to confirm the effect of shock absorption of MR elastomer. Thus, the MR elastomer can be applied to shock absorber used in area that shock occurs.

  • Vibration/shock affects biggest taking a train subtraction of vehicle and durability decline. Therefore, absorber is used for vibration/shock isolation and various qualities of the material and design are applied to isolation. This paper proposes vibration/shock absorber that applies 'Disc' spring. Through comparison with 'Disc' spring that has nonlinearity and coil spring that is having linearity, see effect that nonlinearity of isolation gets in vibration/shock Isolation. Coil spring and 'Disc' spring are non-linear numerical analysis and simulation through theory for this, get and investigate comparison result through an experiment finally. Expressed and formulated shock through 'Runge-Kutta' method/impact response to nonlinear-vibration-equation of 1 degree of freedom for numerical analysis. Double half sine pulse of excitation used and analyzed result through spectrum response analysis here. Response of disc spring is compared to response of coil spring by changing $h_o/t$ ratio with computer simulation and the usage of disc spring is increased through analysis of effect of design factors. The purpose of this paper is that the shock response of disc spring is calculated through numerical simulation and to design the optimal absorber under the limited condition. And then, the isolation effect was analyzed through the shock test.

Impact of Absorber Thickness on Bifacial Performance Characteristics of Semitransparent Amorphous Silicon Thin-Film Solar Cells (광흡수층 두께에 따른 투광형 비정질 실리콘 박막 태양전지의 양면발전 성능특성)

  • Bifacial and semitransparent hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) thin-film solar cells in p-i-n configuration were prepared with front and rear transparent conducting oxide (TCO) electrodes using plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition method. Fluorine-doped tin oxide and tin-doped indium oxide films were used as front and rear TCO contacts, respectively. Film thickness of intrinsic a-Si:H absorber layers were controlled from 150 nm to 450 nm by changing deposition time. The dependence of performance characteristics of solar cells on the front and rear illumination direction were investigated. For front illumination, gradual increase in the short-circuit current density (JSC) from 10.59 mA/㎠ to 14.19 mA/㎠ was obtained, whereas slight decreases from 0.83 V to 0.81 V for the open-circuit voltage (VOC) and from 68.43% to 65.75% for fill factor (FF) were observed. The average optical transmittance in the wavelength region of 380 ~ 780 nm of the solar cells decreased gradually from 22.76% to 15.67% as the absorber thickness was changed from 150 nm to 450 nm. In case of the solar cells under rear illumination condition, the JSC increased from 10.81 to 12.64 mA/㎠ and the FF deceased from 66.63% to 61.85%, while the VOC values were maintained at 0.80 V with increasing the absorber thickness from 150 nm to 450 nm. By optimizing the deposition parameters, a high-quality bifacial and semitransparent a-Si:H solar cell with 350 nm-thick i-a-Si:H absorber layer exhibited the conversion efficiencies of 7.69% for front illumination and 6.40% for rear illumination, and average visible optical transmittance of 17.20%.

  • In this study, deformation analysis for solid-liquid coupled structure has been performed using explicit finite element program In order to model the behavior of liquid, SPH (Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics) algorithm was adopted. Crash test and simulation for the hydro-type impact energy absorber were given as an example of industrial application. The obtained good correlation between the test results and simulation reveals that the proposed method could be used effectively for the structural analysis of solid-liquid coupled problems

Bandgap Engineering in CZTSSe Thin Films via Controlling S/(S+Se) Ratio

  • The earth-abundant element-based Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 (CZTSSe) thin film solar cells (TFSCs) have attracted greater attention in the photovoltaic (PV) community due to their rapid development in device power conversion efficiency (PCE) >13%. In the present work, we demonstrated the fine-tuning of the bandgap in the CZTSSe TFSCs by altering the sulfur (S) to the selenium (Se) chalcogenide ratio. To achieve this, the CZTSSe absorber layers are fabricated with different S/(S+Se) ratios from 0.02 to 0.08 of their weight percentage. Further compositional, morphological, and optoelectronic properties are studied using various characterization techniques. It is observed that the change in the S/(S+Se) ratios has minimal impact on the overall Cu/(Zn+Sn) composition ratio. In contrast, the S and Se content within the CZTSSe absorber layer gets altered with a change in the S/(S+Se) ratio. It also influences the overall absorber quality and gets worse at higher S/(S+Se). Furthermore, the device performance evaluated for similar CZTSSe TFSCs showed a linear increase and decrease in the open circuit voltage (Voc) and short circuit current density (Jsc) of the device with an increasing S/(S+Se) ratio. The external quantum efficiency (EQE) measured also exhibited a linear blue shift in absorption edge, increasing the bandgap from 1.056 eV to 1.228 eV, respectively.
