A Study on audience role of Contemporary Theatre - Focused on Punchdrunk's (동시대극의 관객역할 연구 - 펀치드렁크 극단의 <슬립 노 모어>를 중심으로)

  • In contemporary Theatre, the case of inducing direct communication between the audience and the performance is prominent. Especially with the development of digital technology, the audience wants a personalized experience. The emergence of 'immersive Theatre' in this trend has attracted great attention both at home and abroad. In particular, the most important role in the emergence of the concept of 'immersive Theatre' is the British punchdrunk Theatre. Their representative performance began to premiere in London in the UK in 2003 and has expanded to include New York and China in Shanghai and continues to be extremely popular until 2019. In general, a review of existing studies on the role of the audience in shows that the focus is on the participation of the audience. What experience will be given to the audience can not be emphasized in contemporary Theatre. In order to satisfy the diverse needs of the audience, contemporary Theatre are increasingly showing complexity that cannot be explained by any one theory. The same goes for . This is because each audience wants a personalized experience, and there are differences in experience depending on the environment in which the audience also grew up, knowledge, culture, and taste. This study selected Punch Drunk's as a performance that can represent contemporary Theatre, and conducted a study on the role of audience in contemporary Theatre. To this end, we have historically explored past discussions about the role of the audience and discussed the characteristics of the role of the audience in contemporary Theatre. Next, I analyzed in detail the experience of the researcher "He" who watched the performance with the researcher on the role of the audience in . In conclusion, the experience of the audience in is diverse and complex. In other words, the role of the traditional audience in the proscenium play, as well as the audience as a participant in the post-drama play, was also complex in the performance. Therefore, when discussing the role of the audience in contemporary Theatre, there should be a discussion that clearly sees the complex characteristics of contemporary Theatre through the approach from various perspectives, rather than merely one view of the audience as a participant. something to do.

  • The advent of digital media has facilitated easy access for adolescents to environments conducive to the purchase of narcotics. In particular, there's an increasing trend in the purchase and consumption of narcotics mediated through Social Network Services (SNS) and messenger services. Adolescents, sensitive to such environments, are at risk of experiencing neurological and mental health issues due to narcotic addiction, increasing their exposure to criminal activities, hence necessitating national-level management and support. Consequently, the quest for sustainable treatment methods for adolescents exposed to narcotics emerges as a critical challenge. In the context of high relapse rates in narcotic addiction, the necessity for cost-effective and user-friendly treatment programs is emphasized. This study conducts a literature review aimed at utilizing digital platforms to create an environment where adolescents can voluntarily participate, focusing on the development of therapeutic content through art. Specifically, it reviews societal perceptions and treatment statuses of adolescent drug addiction, analyzes the impact of narcotic addiction on adolescent brain activity and cognitive function degradation, and explores approaches for developing digital therapeutics to promote the rehabilitation of the addicted brain through analysis of precedential case studies. Moreover, the study investigates the benefits that the integration of digital therapeutic approaches and art therapy can provide in the treatment process and proposes the possibility of enhancing therapeutic effects through various treatment programs such as drama therapy, music therapy, and art therapy. The application of art therapy methods is anticipated to offer positive effects in terms of tool expansion, diversification of expression, data acquisition, and motivation. Through such approaches, an enhancement in the effectiveness of treatments for adolescent narcotic addiction is anticipated. Overall, this study undertakes foundational research for the development of digital therapeutics and related applications, offering economically viable and sustainable treatment options in consideration of the societal context of adolescent narcotic addiction.

Augmented Reality Game Interface Using Hand Gestures Tracking (사용자 손동작 추적에 기반한 증강현실 게임 인터페이스)

  • Recently, Many 3D augmented reality games that provide strengthened immersive have appeared in the 3D game environment. In this article, we describe a barehanded interaction method based on human hand gestures for augmented reality games. First, feature points are extracted from input video streams. Point features are tracked and motion of moving objects are computed. The shape of the motion trajectories are used to determine whether the motion is intended gestures. A long smooth trajectory toward one of virtual objects or menus is classified as an intended gesture and the corresponding action is invoked. To prove the validity of the proposed method, we implemented two simple augmented reality applications: a gesture-based music player and a virtual basketball game. In the music player, several menu icons are displayed on the top of the screen and an user can activate a menu by hand gestures. In the virtual basketball game, a virtual ball is bouncing in a virtual cube space and the real video stream is shown in the background. An user can hit the virtual ball with his hand gestures. From the experiments for three untrained users, it is shown that the accuracy of menu activation according to the intended gestures is 94% for normal speed gestures and 84% for fast and abrupt gestures.

  • Volume visualization is an important subarea of scientific visualization, and is concerned with techniques that are effectively used in generating meaningful and visual information from abstract and complex volume datasets, defined in three- or higher-dimensional space. It has been increasingly important in various fields including meteorology, medical science, and computational fluid dynamics, and so on. On the other hand, virtual reality is a research field focusing on various techniques that aid gaining experiences in virtual worlds with visual, auditory and tactile senses. In this paper, we have developed a visualization system for CAVE, an immersive 3D virtual environment system, which generates stereoscopic images from huge human volume datasets in real-time using an improved volume visualization technique. In order to complement the 3D texture-mapping based volume rendering methods, that easily slow down as data sizes increase, our system utilizes an image-based rendering technique to guarantee real-time performance. The system has been designed to offer a variety of user interface functionality for effective visualization. In this article, we present detailed description on our real-time stereoscopic visualization system, and show how the Visible Korean Human dataset is effectively visualized on CAVE.

Rendering Quality Improvement Method based on Depth and Inverse Warping (깊이정보와 역변환 기반의 포인트 클라우드 렌더링 품질 향상 방법)

  • The point cloud content is immersive content recorded by acquiring points and colors corresponding to the real environment and objects having three-dimensional location information. When a point cloud content consisting of three-dimensional points having position and color information is enlarged and rendered, the gap between the points widens and an empty hole occurs. In this paper, we propose a method for improving the quality of point cloud contents through inverse transformation-based interpolation using depth information for holes by finding holes that occur due to the gap between points when expanding the point cloud. The points on the back are rendered between the holes created by the gap between the points, acting as a hindrance to applying the interpolation method. To solve this, remove the points corresponding to the back side of the point cloud. Next, a depth map at the point in time when an empty hole is generated is extracted. Finally, inverse transform is performed to extract pixels from the original data. As a result of rendering content by the proposed method, the rendering quality improved by 1.2 dB in terms of average PSNR compared to the conventional method of increasing the size to fill the blank area.

  • Mixed reality(MR) technology combines the advantages of virtual reality(VR) and augmented reality(AR) technology, allowing MR users to interact with virtual objects against the background of the real world. In addition, since virtual objects interact with the real world, users can experience a higher immersion. This study proposes electric circuit practical training content using Meta Quest Pro to produce immersive MR content based on reality. To this end, first, the development process for producing MR content by linking Meta Quest Pro equipment with the Unity 3D engine is organized. Then, based on the traditional electric circuit practical training method used in elementary school science classes, virtual electric circuit practical training content with the same training method and operation process is produced based on MR. Finally, survey experiments are conducted to analyze the presence and experience of the MR-based educational environment provided using the produced content. Through this, the usability of the proposed practical training content is evaluated and future research directions are suggested.

  • This study was written to create educational content in non-destructive fields based on Mixed Reality. Currently, in the field of radiation, there is almost no content for educational Mixed Reality-based educational content. And in the field of non-destructive inspection, the working environment is poor, the number of employees is often 10 or less for each manufacturer, and the educational infrastructure is not built. There is no practical training, only practical training and safety education to convey information. To solve this, it was decided to develop non-destructive worker education content based on Mixed Reality. This content was developed based on Microsoft's HoloLens 2 HMD device. It is manufactured based on the resolution of 1280 ⁎ 720, and the resolution is different for each device, and the Side is created by aligning the Left, Right, Bottom, and TOP positions of Anchor, and the large image affects the size of Atlas. The large volume like the wallpaper and the upper part was made by replacing it with UITexture. For UI Widget Wizard, I made Label, Buttom, ScrollView, and Sprite. In this study, it is possible to provide workers with realistic educational content, enable self-directed education, and educate with 3D stereoscopic images based on reality to provide interesting and immersive education. Through the images provided in Mixed Reality, the learner can directly operate things through the interaction between the real world and the Virtual Reality, and the learner's learning efficiency can be improved. In addition, mixed reality education can play a major role in non-face-to-face learning content in the corona era, where time and place are not disturbed.
