In recent years, attempts have been made to greatly improve the display quality of active-matrix liquid crystal display devices, and many techniques have been proposed to solve such problems as gate signal delay, feed-through voltage and image sticking[1-3]. To improve these problems which are caused by the feed-through voltage, we have evaluated new driving methods to reduce the feed-through voltage. Two level gate-pulse was used for the gate driving of the cst-on-common structure pixels. These gate driving methods offer better feed-through characteristics than conventional simple gate pulse. Optimized step signal will compensate by step pulse time and voltage. The evaluation of the suggested driving methods were performed by using a TFT-LCD array simulator PDAST which can simulate the gate, data and pixel voltages of a certain pixel at any time and at any location on a TFT array. The effect of the new driving method was effectively analyzed.

A new fabrication method is proposed to form the stacked polysilicon gate by nitridation in $N_2$ atmosphere using conventional LP-CVD system. Two step stacked layers with an amorphous layer on top of a polycrystalline layer as well as three step stacked layers with polycrystalline films were fabricated using the proposed method. SIMS profile showed that the proposed method would successfully create the nitrogen-rich layers between the stacked polysilicon layers, thus resulting in effective retardation of dopant diffusion. It was observed that the dopants in stacked films were piled-up at the interface. TEM image also showed clear distinction of stacked layers, their plane grain size and grain mismatch at interface layers. Therefore, the number of stacked polysilicon layers with different crystalline structures, interface position and crystal phase can be easily controlled to improve the device performance and reliability without any negative effects in nano-scale CMOSFETs.

Thin films of $BaTiO_3$ system were prepared by radio frequency(rf)/dc magnetron sputtering method. We have investigated crystal structure, surface morphology and PTCR(positive-temperature coefficient of resistance) characteristics of the specimen depending on second heat-treatment temperatures. Second heat treatments of the specimen were performed in the temperature range of 400 to $1350^{\circ}C$. X-ray diffraction patterns of $BaTiO_3$ thin films show that the specimen heat treated below $600^{\circ}C$ is an amorphous phase and the one heat treated above $1100^{\circ}C$ forms a poly-crystallization. In the specimen heat-treated at $1300^{\circ}C$, a lattice constant ratio (c/a) was 1.188. Scanning electron microscope(SEM) image of $BaTiO_3$ thin films of the specimen heat treated in between 900 and $1100^{\circ}C}$ shows a grain growth. At $1100^{\circ}C$, the specimen stops grain-growing and becomes a poly-crystallization.
Chalk River Unidentified Deposits (CRUDs) were collected from the Korean pressurized water reactor (PWR) plant (A, B, and C) where the axial offset anomaly (AOA) occurred. AOA, also known as a CRUD-induced power shift, is one of the key issues in maintaining stable PWR plant operations. CRUDs were sampled from spent nuclear fuel rods and analyzed using an electron probe micro-analyzer (EPMA). This paper describes the characteristics of boron-deposits from the CRUDs sampled from twice-burnt assemblies from the Korean PWR. The primary coolant of a PWR contains boron and lithium. It is known that boron deposition occurs in a thick CRUD layer under substantial sub-cooled nucleate boiling (SNB). The results of this study are summarized as follows. Boron was not found at the locations where the existence was confirmed in simulated CRUDs, in other words, the cladding and CRUD boundaries. Nevertheless, we clearly observed the presence of boron and confirmed that boron existed as a lump in crystalline form. In addition, the study confirmed that CRUD existed in a crystal form with a unique size of about 10 ㎛.

BaTiO$_3$cerameic thin films doped with Mn were manufactured by rf/dc magnetron sputter technique. We have investigated crystal structure, surface morphology and PRCR(positive-temperature coefficient of resistance) characteristics of the specimen depending on second heat-treatment temperature. Second heat treatment of the specimen were performed in the temperature range of 400 to 1350$\^{C}$ X-ray diffraction patterns of BaTiO$_3$ thin films show that the specimen heat treated below 600$\^{C}$ is an amorphous phase and the one heat treated above 1100$\^{C}$ forms a poly-crystallization . In this specimen heat-treated at 1300$\^{C}$, a lattice constant ratio(c/a) was 1.188. Scanning electron microscope(SEM) image of BaTiO$_3$ thin films of the specimen heat treated in between 900 and 1100$\^{C}$ shows a grain growth. At 1100$\^{C}$, the specimen stops grain-growing and becomes a poly-crystallization . A resistivity-temperature characteristics of the specimen depends on the doping concentrations of Mn. A resistivity ratio between the value at room temperature and the one above Curie temperature was 10$^4$ for pure BaTiO$_3$ thin films and 10$\^$5/ fo BaTiO$_3$ : additive 0.127mol% MnO
Ferroelectric $BaTiO_3$/poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) nanocomposite films were successfully prepared by mixing $BaTiO_3$ nano-particles into PVDF solution dissolved in dimethylformamide under ultrasonification. The mixture was casted onto glass petri dish and then annealed at $100^{\circ}C$ for 12 h in vacuum dry oven. Crystal structure and surface morphology of the samples were analyzed by using an X-ray diffraction analysis and a field emission-scanning electron microscope, respectively. The relative dielectric permittivity and loss tangent were determined in the frequency range of 50 Hz to 1 MHz. For the $BaTiO_3/PVDF$ nanocomposites, the entire diffraction peaks match those indicated by standard $BaTiO_3$ perovskite structure. The FE-SEM image reveals the homogeneity of the $BaTiO_3$ nanopowder distribution and also predominant 0-3 connectivity. All results show that the dielectric properties of the nanocomposite films are desirable and the fabrication technique for preparing the $BaTiO_3/PVDF$ nanocomposites has a potential in the electronic applications.
We propose a data coding scheme for reducing' power consumption and ElVII in transmitting a sequence of data from LCD controller to LCD driver. The proposed coding scheme makes use of reducing data transitions in general text image of PC. It can be implemented with a little hardware and applied to the real-time applications of LCD driving system. We have executed computer simulations of the proposed coding scheme and compared the results of the proposed scheme with those produced by the existing coding schemes. The proposed coding scheme, compared to the existing ones, reduces the switching activity significantly in both of text and picture images.

High-resolution microscopy was applied for surveying hydride stability in Vanadium alloys, which are candidate for hydrogen storage materials of advanced hydrogen energy systems. $V_2H$ hydride in V alloys was stable at room temperature under the vacuum condition, but it was decomposed during heating up to $100^{\circ}C$. It was confirmed from HRTEM image and FFT that $V_2H$ has a BCT structure, where hydrogen atoms locate at octahedral sites. Crystal orientation was <110> beta// <110> mat., and lattice strain is about 10%. After the decomposition of the hydride, relatively large lattice expansion was observed in the matrix, which suggests that hydrogen atoms should be trapped by lattice defects and included in the matrix. Intensive electron beam also enhanced the decomposition.
In this work, various electron microscopy and analysis techniques were used to investigate the microstructural evolution of a 9% Cr tempered martensite ferritic (TMF) steel T91 upon ultrasonic nanocrystalline surface modification (UNSM) treatment. The micro-dimpled surface was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. The characteristics of plastic deformation and gradient microstructure of the UNSM treated specimens were clearly revealed by crystal orientation mapping of electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD), with flexible use of the inverse pole figure, image quality, and grain boundary misorientation images. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) observation of the specimens at different depths showed the formation of dislocations, dense dislocation walls, subgrains, and grains in the lower, middle, upper, and top layers of the treated specimens. Refinement of the $M_{23}C_6$ precipitates was also observed, the size and the number density of which were found to decrease as depth from the top surface decreased. The complex microstructure and microstructural evolution of the TMF steel samples upon the UNSM treatment were well-characterized by combined use of EBSD and TEM techniques.
We are familiar with the holography in these days. For making holography the coherent sources like LASER are used in many fields. But coherent holography has many problems. Coherent holography needs many instrument for practical use like 3-D TV case. In solving the problem we use the non-coherent source. Nowadays many methods like conoscopic holo graphy using anisotropic crystal, shadow casting and interferometric systems are suggested. In this paper we make the hologram using the triangular interferometric systems. [1],[2],[3],[4]. We explain the afocal and double-afocal system which consists of the triangular interferometric system. The holography made in one point and two point cases is imaged on CCD camera and we handle the image data digitally for the reconstruction efficiently. In reconstructing the hologram the Fraunhofer diffraction theory is used. We adopt the rectangular aperture for the convenience of calculation. In the future we must reconstruct the perfect 3-Dimensional object by optical method. For this, we have many problems like resolution problem. We must solve these problem for perfect reconstruction.
