Reversible watermarking inserts watermark into digital media in such a way that visual transparency is preserved and then enables to restore the original media from the marked one without any loss of media quality. This watermarking can be applied to quality-sensitive imaging such as medical imaging, military imaging, remote-sensing imaging, and precious artwork, where the original media should be preserved during image processing and analysis. In this paper, a reversible image watermarking technique that embeds message bits by modifying the differential histogram of adjacent pixels is presented. In order to satisfy both high embedding capacity and visual quality, the proposed technique exploits the fact that adjacent pixels in the image have highly spatial correlation. Also, we prevent overflow/underflow problem and salt-and-pepper artifacts by employing a predicted error compensation scheme. Through experiments using various test images, we prove that the presented technique provides perfect reversibility and high embedding capacity, while maintaining the induced-distortion low.
In this Paper. we Propose a digital watermarking scheme for digital images based on a perceptual model, the frequency masking, texture making, and luminance masking Properties of the human visual system(HVS), which have been developed in the context of image compression. We embed two types of watermark, one is pseudo random(PN) sequences, the other is a logo image. To embed the watermarks, original images are decomposed into $8\times8$ blocks, and the discrete cosine transform(DCT) is carried out for each block. Watermarks are casted in the low frequency components of DCT coefficients. The perceptual model adjusts adaptively scaling factors embedding watermarks according to the local image properties. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme presents better results than that of non-perceptual watermarking methods for image qualify without loss of robustness.

In this paper, we proposed a real-time watermarking algorithm to be combined and to work with a DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform)-based image compressor. To reduce the amount of computation in selecting the watermarking positions, the proposed algorithm uses a pre-established look-up table for critical values, which was established statistically by computing the correlation according to the energy values of the corresponding wavelet coefficients. That is, watermark is embedded into the coefficients whose values are greater than the critical value in the look-up table which is searched on the basis of the energy values of the corresponding level-1 subband coefficients. Therefore, the proposed algorithm can operate in a real-time because the watermarking process operates in parallel with the compression procession without affecting the operation of the image compression. Also it improved the property of losing the watermark and the efficiency of image compression by watermark inserting, which results from the quantization and Huffman-Coding during the image compression. Visual recognizable patterns such as binary image were used as a watermark The experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm satisfied the properties of robustness and imperceptibility that are the major conditions of watermarking.

Digital Watermarking is a research area which aims at hiding secret information in digital multimedia content such as images, audio, and video. In this paper, we propose a new watermarking method with visually recognizable symbols into the digital images using wavelet transform, spread spectrum method and multilevel threshold value in considering the wavelet coefficients. The information of watermark can be extracted by subtracting wavelet coefficients with the original image and the watermarked image. The results of this experiment show that the proposed algorithm was superior to other similar watermarking algorithms. We showed Watermarking algorithm in JPEG lossy compression, resizing, LSB(Least Significant Bit) masking, and filtering.

Due to the development of the network and Internet, it is easy to copy and spread digital data. These data has the advantage of being able to be copy without loss. However, this has generated a problem over copyright. The problem occurred in GIS, too. Although GIS data acquisition is the major cost there is insufficient effort made to protect copyright. For this reason watermarking could be a good method to guarantee owner's copyright. This paper will explain watermarking, and show an overview of watermarking studies connecting image and vector data.

This paper propose a digital watermarking algorithm for a digital hologram which is the most valuable image content. It is highly necessary to protect the ownership of a digital hologram. This paper introduces a watermarking scheme, a method to protect the ownership of digital holograms using the Fresnel transform domain data as the ones to be watermarked. Experiment results indicated that the proposed scheme was very imperceptible in the digital hologram and in the reconstructed holographic image. Also, they showed quite strong resistance to most of the attacks. we expect that the conclusions of this paper can be the basis for further research on the digital watermarking for digital holograms.
The rapid development of digital media and communication network urgently brings about the need of data certification technology to protect IPR (Intellectual property right). This paper proposed a new watermarking method for embedding owner's audio signal. Because this method uses an audio signal as a watermark to be embedded, it is very useful to claim the ownership aurally. And it has the advantage of restoring audio signal modified and especially removed by image removing attacks by applying our LBX(Linear Bit-expansion) interleaving. Three basic stages of our watermarking include: 1) Encode . analogue owner's audio signal by PCM and create new digital audio watermark, 2) Interleave an audio watermark by our LBX; and 3) Embed the interleaved audio watermark in the low frequency band on DTn (Discrete Haar Wavelet Transform) of image. The experimental results prove that this method is resistant to lossy JPEG compression as standard image compression and especially to cropping and rotation which remove a part of Image.
In this paper, we proposed a blind watermarking algorithm to use characteristics of a scalar quantizer which is similar with the recommended in the JPEG2000 and JPEG. This algorithm shifts a quantization index according to the value of each watermark bit to prevent losing the watermark information during the compression by quantization. Therefore, the watermark is embedded during the process of quantization, not an additional process for watermarking, and adaptively applied as an assigned quantizer according to application area. In the embedding process, a LFSR(Linear feedback shift register) is used to hide the watermarking positions. Therefore the embedded watermark can be extracted by only the owner who knows the initial value of LFSR without the original image. The experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm satisfies the robustness and imperceptibility corresponding to the major requirement of watermarking.
In this paper, a problem of geometrically distorted images is considered. In particular, the paper discusses the detection of a watermark from a photographed image of the watermarked picture. The image is possibly obtained by using a digital camera. This watermark detection problem is made difficult by various geometric distortions added to the original picture through the printing and photographing processes. In particular, the paper focuses on the geometric distortion due to a projective transformation, as part of a camera 3D-to-2D imaging process. It is well-known that a cross ratio of collinear points is invariant under a perspective projection. By exploiting this fact, a projective-invariant digital watermarking technique is developed. By detecting the picture's corners, and the image center point at the intersection of two main diagonal lines, predefined cross ratios are used to compute the watermark embedded locations. From those identified embedding pixel locations, a watermark can be detected by performing a correlation between a watermark pattern and the image over those pixels. The proposed method does not require an inverse transformation on the distorted image, thus simplifying the detection process. Performance of the proposed method has been analyzed through computer experiments

Digital watermarking technology is one of method of protecting property from the illegal reproduction of digital data. This technology inserts the specific data in a certain file to identify the property, that is an author and rights, not for human to be seen and heard. In this paper, the watermarking technology which inserts a RGB color watermark in a JPEG2000 color image using the visual characteristics of wavelet coefficient was proposed. After applying various attack at a watermarked image according to proposed technology, the likeness between the original image, the watermark and the extracted watermark was measured and investigated. As a result, the PSNR value of image was varied depending on perceptual parameter, but we can obtain 32dB as a whole.
