  • Successive image contrast enhancement was used to direct digital radiography system. This system was accurately required acquisition signal in each pixel. But, applied high electric field in a-Se thin film for x-ray conversion layer was caused to acquisition signal distortion, then bring low image contrast. The purpose of this study was to reduce the signal distortion, carried out different electrode size.

The effects of image acquisition control of digital X-ray system on radiodensity quantification

  • Objectives: Aluminum step wedge (ASW) equivalent radiodensity (eRD) has been used to quantify restorative material's radiodensity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of image acquisition control (IAC) of a digital X-ray system on the radiodensity quantification under different exposure time settings. Materials and Methods: Three 1-mm thick restorative material samples with various opacities were prepared. Samples were radiographed alongside an ASW using one of three digital radiographic modes (linear mapping (L), nonlinear mapping (N), and nonlinear mapping and automatic exposure control activated (E)) under 3 exposure time settings (underexposure, normal-exposure, and overexposure). The ASW eRD of restorative materials, attenuation coefficients and contrasts of ASW, and the correlation coefficient of linear relationship between logarithms of gray-scale value and thicknesses of ASW were compared under 9 conditions. Results: The ASW eRD measurements of restorative materials by three digital radiographic modes were statistically different (p = 0.049) but clinically similar. The relationship between logarithms of background corrected grey scale value and thickness of ASW was highly linear but attenuation coefficients and contrasts varied significantly among 3 radiographic modes. Varying exposure times did not affect ASW eRD significantly. Conclusions: Even though different digital radiographic modes induced large variation on attenuation of coefficient and contrast of ASW, E mode improved diagnostic quality of the image significantly under the underexposure condition by improving contrasts, while maintaining ASW eRDs of restorative materials similar. Under the condition of this study, underexposure time may be acceptable clinically with digital X-ray system using automatic gain control that reduces radiation exposure for patient.

  • This paper is about vision system that exhibits automatic examination of the conditions of shaft's worm. The system is composed of three part : image acquisition, vision algorithm, and user interface. The image acquisition part is composed of motor control, illumination and optics. The vision algorithm examines the parts by labeling algorithm using shaft image. User interface is divided into two parts, user interface for feature registering with control value settings and user interface for examination operation. The automatic inspection system of this research is a tool for final examination of shaft worm. This tool can be practically used in production lines with simple adjustments.

  • 통신, 해양, 기상의 세 분야 복합 임무를 수행하는 천리안위성(Communication Ocean Meteorological Satellite: COMS)의 기상 및 해양 영상 자료 수신 및 처리에 대한 백업 지상국 운영의 특성 및 결과를 논하였다. 먼저, 기상 및 해양 영상 자료 수신 및 처리 백업을 위한 지상국 형상, 영상 자료 처리, 백업 운영 업무의 특성을 기술하였다. 그리고 성공적인 백업 운영 확인을 위해, 정규 운영 시작 이후 처음 3년 동안의 정규 운영 결과도 제시하여 하였다. 2011년 4월부터 2014년 3월까지 영상 자료 수신, 전처리, 위성 방송배포에 대해 달성된 운영 성능 결과를 통계 분석 자료로 제시하였다.

  • In this paper, a 3D coordinates acquisition method for a mechanical assembly is developed by using multiview X-ray images. The multi-view X-ray images of an object are obtained by a rotary table. From the rotation transformation, it is possible to obtain the 3D coordinates of corresponding edge points on multi-view X-ray images by triangulation. The edge detection algorithm in this paper is based on the attenuation characteristic of the X-ray. The 3D coordinates of the object points are represented on a graphic display, which is used for the inspection of a mechanical assembly.

  • All image data acquisition systems for example the digital camera and digital camcorder, use the image sensor to convert the image data (light) into electronic data. These image sensors are used in satellite camera for high quality and resolution image data. There are two kinds of image sensors, the one is the CCD (charge coupled device) detector sensor and the other is the CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) image sensor. The CCD sensor control system has more complex than the CMOS sensor control system. For the high quality image data on CCD sensor, the precise timing control signal and the several voltage sources are needed in the control system. In this paper, the comparison of the CCD with CMOS sensor, the CCD sensor characteristic, and the control system will be described.

  • In this paper, we developed an outdoor augmented reality system which has remote real scences acquisition ability. The real scenes acquisition system consists of image acquisition system, tracking system, wireless data transceiver and power supply. Tracking system that consists of Tans Vector and RT-20 measures a position and attitude of the CCD camera that attached at the remote control helicopter. Wireless data transceiver system is utilized for data transmission of remote system that of attitude, position information, andreal scenes data that acquired by the CCD camera. Maximum propelling power of remote control helicopter is 15Kg, so we used 7.2V li-ion cell as a power supply for system minimize. As the results of experiment, the developing system presented application possibility of remote information acquisition system such as construction simulation & estimation, broadcasting, tour guide.

  • The increasing concern over radiation exposure in the nuclear industry has fostered agrressive efforts to reduce the levels of radiation exposure. One area of the effot to reduce the radiation exposure is the development of a remote radiation monitoring system. Remote radiation monitoring can serve many benificaial functions reduce exposure to radiation by plant personnel, impruve the quality of the data that is collected and recognize the radiation environment easily. Radiation mapping system gives a good information that represents radiation level distribution. The system we have developed consists of a data acquistion parts, mobile robot and remote control parts. Data acquisition parts consist of radiation detection module and vision acquistion module which collect radiation data, visiion data and distance information. In remote control parts, the acquision data are processed and displayed. We have constructed radiation mapping image by overlaying the vision and radiation data. The radiation mapping techniques for displaying the results of the survey in an easily comprehendable form will facilitate a better understanding of the radiation environment in the facility. This system can reduce workers radiation exposure and aid to help work plan, so it has significant benifits in cost and safety.
