영상센서의 비균일 응답특성 보정을 위한 흑체 설계 및 성능검증과 보정오차 분석 (Black Body Design and Verification for Non-Uniformity Correction of Imaging Sensor and Uncertainty Analysis)

  • 영상센서 중 적외선 센서는 시간경과 및 작동/비작동 반복에 따라 적외선 광원에 대한 응답특성이 조금씩 변화하며, 그 결과 영상품질이 저하된다. 그래서 인공위성에 탑재되는 적외선 센서의 경우 정상적인 임무수행을 위해 교정용 흑체로 주기적인 비균일 응답특성 보정을 실시할 수 있도록 해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 비균일 응답특성 보정을 위해, 적외선 센서의 파장대역 $3.3{\sim}5.2{\mu}m$에서 흑체 방사율이 0.995이상 평균온도차 $1^{\circ}C$ 이하가 되도록 V-그루브(groove) 타입의 흑체를 설계하였다. 성능검증을 위해 흑체의 방사율과 표면온도를 측정하여 검증하였으며, 그 결과로부터 비균일 응답특성 보정오차를 산출하였다.

열화학증기증착법을 이용한 그래핀의 합성 및 투과전자현미경 관찰용 그리드 멤브레인으로의 응용 (Synthesis of Graphene Using Thermal Chemical Vapor Deposition and Application as a Grid Membrane for Transmission Electron Microscope Observation)

  • We present a method of graphene synthesis with high thickness uniformity using the thermal chemical vapor deposition (TCVD) technique; we demonstrate its application to a grid supporting membrane using transmission electron microscope (TEM) observation, particularly for nanomaterials that have smaller dimensions than the pitch of commercial grid mesh. Graphene was synthesized on electron-beam-evaporated Ni catalytic thin films. Methane and hydrogen gases were used as carbon feedstock and dilution gas, respectively. The effects of synthesis temperature and flow rate of feedstock on graphene structures have been investigated. The most effective condition for large area growth synthesis and high thickness uniformity was found to be $1000^{\circ}C$ and 5 sccm of methane. Among the various applications of the synthesized graphenes, their use as a supporting membrane of a TEM grid has been demonstrated; such a grid is useful for high resolution TEM imaging of nanoscale materials because it preserves the same focal plane over the whole grid mesh. After the graphene synthesis, we were able successfully to transfer the graphenes from the Ni substrates to the TEM grid without a polymeric mediator, so that we were able to preserve the clean surface of the as-synthesized graphene. Then, a drop of carbon nanotube (CNT) suspension was deposited onto the graphene-covered TEM grid. Finally, we performed high resolution TEM observation and obtained clear image of the carbon nanotubes, which were deposited on the graphene supporting membrane.

디지털 합금 AlGaAs층을 이용하여 제작된 GaAs/AlGaAs DBR의 균일도 향상 (Improved Uniformity of GaAs/AlGaAs DBR Using the Digital Alloy AlGaAs Layer)

  • 디지털 합금 (digital-alloy) 성장방법을 사용한 AIGaAs층을 이용하여 $1.3{\mu}m$ vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL)에 사용될 수 있는 AlGaAs/GaAs distributed Bragg reflector (DBR)를 분자선 에피탁시 (molecular beam epitaxy) 방법을 통해 제작하였다. 3인치 1/4 크기의 기판에 디지털 합금 AlGaAs층을 사용한 DBR을 성장하고 기판 여러 부분에서의 반사율을 측정하여 각 부분 간의 반사율 편차가 0.35%이내임을 확인하였다. TEM 사진을 통한 계면분석을 통해 디지털 합금 AlGaAs층의 조성과 두께가 균일함을 확인하였는데, 이는 디지털 합금 AlGaAs층의 성장시 기판 표면의 온도가 불균일하더라도 크게 영향을 받지 않음을 보여준다. 이를 통해 DBR의 균일성에 따라 소자의 특성에 큰 영향을 받는 InAs 양자점을 활성층으로 사용하는 VCSEL의 수율을 향상시키는데 디지털 합금 AlGaAs층을 이용한 DBR이 응용될 수 있음을 보였다.

LED TV 패널 밝기 균일화 보정 시스템 개발 (Development of LED TV Panel Brightness Uniformity Correction System)

  • When Flat Panel Display (FPD) is made with backlight module, such as LED TV, it inherently suffers from the non-uniform backlight luminance problem that results in un-even brightness distribution throughout the TV screen. If the luminance of each pixel location of a TV screen as a function of the driving voltage can be measured, it can be used to compensate the non-uniformity of the backlight module. We use a carefully calibrated imaging system to take pictures of a TV screen at different levels of brightness and generate the compensation functions for the driving circuitry to correct the luminance level at each pixel location. Making use of the fact that the luminance of the screen is normally brightest at around the center of the screen and gradually decreases toward the border of the screen, the luminance of the whole TV screen is approximated by a mathematical function of the pixel locations. The parameters of the function are computed in the least square sense by the values of both the pixel luminance sent from the driving circuit and the grayscale value measured from the image taken by the imaging system. To justify the correction system, a simple second order polynomial function is used to approximate the luminance across the screen. When the driving circuit voltage is corrected according to the measured function, the variance of the screen luminance is reduced to one tenth of the one measured from the un-corrected TV screen.

  • 본 연구를 통해서 대 면적, 고 휘도 AMOLED 응용에 적합한 화소 회로와 이에 대한 구동 방식을 제안하였다. 균일도는 다소 떨어지지만 안정성이 뛰어난 저온 다결정 실리론(LTPS) 박막 트랜지스터(TFT)를 기반으로 설계했다. 영상 화소의 균일도를 향상시키기 위해, 화소 TFT의 $V_{TH}$와 이동도 편차를 함께 보상할 수 있도록 했다. 기존의 이동도 보상 회로가 갖는 문제점을 극복하여 대 면적 패널에 적합하도록 했고, 동영상 특성을 개선하기 위해 black data insertion 방식을 도입하였다. 이동도 보상 시 휘도가 떨어지는 문제를 개선하기 위해, 패널이 두 가지 보상 모드에서 동작할 수 있도록 하였다. 화소 회로를 제어하기 위한 스캔 구동 회로를 최적화하여, 이를 통해서 보정 모드를 쉽게 제어할 수 있었다. 최종 구동 타이밍은 여유 있는 마진으로 안정적인 동작이 가능하다. 14.1" WXGA top emission AMOLED 패널에 대해 설계했으며, 이동도 보상 시간을 1us로 했을 때 패널의 불균일도는 5% 이하로 예측되었다.

상온 겔프린팅 기법을 이용한 비파괴 검사용 방사선 증감지 제작 및 평가 (The Evaluation and Fabrication of Radiation Phosphor Screen for Non-destructive Testing using the Special Room Temperature Gel-printing Method)

  • 본 연구는 Gd2O2S:Tb 형광체 화합물을 사용하여 비파괴검사 중 방사선투과검사에 적용할 수 있는 형광체 증감지를 개발하였다. 또한 이러한 형광체 증감지를 FE-SEM, RMS 및 RDS 분석을 통해 형광체 증감지의 영상 균일도를 분석하였다. 또한, 응력-변형 특성 곡선 측정을 통해 Gd2O2S:Tb 형광체 스크린의 인장강도, 신장률 및 탄성계수를 평가하였다. 실험 결과, RSD 값이 평가 기준인 10% 이내로 우수한 영상균일도를 가지는 것으로 평가되었다. 또한, 물리적 특성 평가 결과, 인장 강도는 1.1760 N/㎟이며, 파단시 인장강도는 1.1515 N/㎟로 나타났다. 이러한 결과로부터 본 연구에서 제작된 상온 겔-프린팅 제조법을 이용하여 제작된 Gd2O2S:Tb 형광체 스크린은 방사선 투과검사용 디지털 방사선 검출기에 적용이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

MDCT 관상동맥 조영 검사에서 전향적 동조화 및 후향적 동조화 기법의 화질과 선량 관계 (An Estimate of Image Quality and Radiation Doses of Coronary Artery in MDCT Using Prospective and Retrospective ECG Gating Scan Mode)

  • 본 연구는 검사 기법에 따른 영상의 질과 방사선 피폭의 정도를 제시하여 검사자가 받는 방사선 피폭을 저감시키는 데 목적이 있다. 관상동맥 전산화 단층 혈관조영(Coronary CTA, coronary computed tomography angiography) 검사자를 대상으로 SnapShot Pulse의 전향적 동조화 기법과 SnapShot Segment의 후향적 동조화 기법으로 coronary CTA 검사에서 검사자가 받는 단면 피폭선량(CTDIvol, volume computed tomography dose index), 총 피폭선량(dose-length product; DLP)을 각각 측정하였다. 또한, Coronary CTA 촬영조건을 동일하게 팬텀을 이용하여 CT감약계수, 노이즈 및 균일도, 공간분해능을 측정하였다. 연구 결과 두기법에서 CT감약계수, 노이즈 및 균일도, 공간분해능의 질적 수준이 비슷하게 나타났으며, CTDIvol, DLP는 SnapShot Segment의 후향적 동조화 기법에 비해 피폭선량이 약 37.5%, 40.3% 감소되었다. 임상에서 coronary CTA 검사 시 SnapShot Pulse의 전향적 동조화 기법을 적극 채택하여 검사자가 받는 방사선 피폭을 감소시키기 위한 노력이 절실히 요구된다.

Investigation of crossflow features of a slender delta wing

  • In the present work, the main features of primary vortices and the vorticity concentrations downstream of vortex bursting in crossflow plane of a delta wing with a sweep angle of Λ=70° were investigated under the variation of the sideslip angles, β. For the pre-review of flow structures, dye visualization was conducted. In connection with a qualitative observation, a quantitative flow analysis was performed by employing Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV). The sideslip angles, β were varied with four different angles, such as 0°, 4°, 12°, and 20° while angles of attack, α were altered between 25° and 35°. This study mainly focused on the instantaneous flow features sequentially located at different crossflow planes such as x/C=0.6, 0.8 and 1.0. As a summary, time-averaged and instantaneous non-uniformity of turbulent flow structures are altered considerably resulting in non-homogeneous delta wing surface loading as a function of the sideslip angle. The vortex bursting location on the windward side of the delta wing advances towards the leading-edge point of the delta wing. The trajectory of the primary vortex on the leeward side slides towards sideways along the span of the delta wing. Besides, the uniformity of the lift coefficient, CL over the delta wing plane was severely affected due to unbalanced distribution of buffet loading over the same plane caused by the variation of the sideslip angle, β. Consequently, dissimilarities of the leading-edge vortices result in deterioration of the mean value of the lift coefficient, CL.

가로경관 분석에서의 반구투영법의 효용성 검토 (The Effectiveness of the Hemi-sphere Projection Method in the Analysis of Streetscape)

  • The Hemi-sphere projection method produces an image that includes all surrounding visual landscape from a view point. This characteristic can solve the problem of perspective method that has only a limited view angle, and thus can be a potentially effective method for the analysis of visual landscape. This study tried to adopt the hemi-sphere projection method in the evaluation of streetscape, and examined its effectiveness and possibilities. Computer animations using the perspective method and the hemi-sphere method were produced for Bang-Hak Ro, Seoul, and the kames of the animations were reclassed to identify the visibility ratio of physical elements(buildings, sky and mountains). A preference questionnaire was given to 51 university students, and the relationships between the visibility ratio and visual preference were analyzed. The results showed that visual preference of streetscape can be explained by three factors: Openness, Uniformity, and Variousness, accounting for 63.2% of the total variance, and among which Openness showed the highest proportion at 32.1%. The visibility ratio calculated by the hemi-sphere method yielded strong correlation coefficients with Openness, and it was much higher than with the perspective method. The hemi-sphere method also produced significant correlation coefficients about Uniformity and Variousness, but the perspective method could not. The results demonstrated that the hemi-sphere method can provide more accurate observation of visual changes, and that it can be an effective method for the analysis of streetscape.

패션 모델 유형 변화에 따른 디자인 인지 차이에 관한 연구 - 시선추적을 활용한 탐색적 분석 - (A Study on the Differences in Cognition of Design Associated with Changes in Fashion Model Type - Exploratory Analysis Using Eye Tracking -)

  • In this study, an eye-tracking program that can confirm a design cognition process was developed for the purpose of presenting strategic methods to create fashion images, and the program was used to identify what effects fashion models' external characteristics have on the cognition of design. The data for analysis were collected through an eyemovement tracking experiment and a survey, with the focus on the research problem that differences in models' external uniformity will lead to differences in the eye movement for perceiving models and design as well as the image sensibility. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, it was confirmed that the uniformity of model types and the simplicity/complexity of design led to differences in the eye movement directed at design and models and the gaze ratio. Consequently, it is deemed that models should be selected in consideration of the characteristics of design and the intention of planning when creating fashion images. Second, it was found that in terms of the cognition of design, external conditions of models affect design sensibility. A change in models led to a subtle difference in sensibility cognition even when the design condition did not change. Thus, not only the design but also model attributes are factors that should be considered important in fashion planning.
