Improved Image Matching Method Based on Affine Transformation Using Nadir and Oblique-Looking Drone Imagery

  • Drone has been widely used for many applications ranging from amateur and leisure to professionals to get fast and accurate 3-D information of the surface of the interest. Most of commercial softwares developed for this purpose are performing automatic matching based on SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) or SURF (Speeded-Up Robust Features) using nadir-looking stereo image sets. Since, there are some situations where not only nadir and nadir-looking matching, but also nadir and oblique-looking matching is needed, the existing software for the latter case could not get good results. In this study, a matching experiment was performed to utilize images with differences in geometry. Nadir and oblique-looking images were acquired through drone for a total of 2 times. SIFT, SURF, which are feature point-based, and IMAS (Image Matching by Affine Simulation) matching techniques based on affine transformation were applied. The experiment was classified according to the identity of the geometry, and the presence or absence of a building was considered. Images with the same geometry could be matched through three matching techniques. However, for image sets with different geometry, only the IMAS method was successful with and without building areas. It was found that when performing matching for use of images with different geometry, the affine transformation-based matching technique should be applied.

2차원 고밀도 이산 웨이브렛 변환의 성능 향상을 위한 Quincunx 표본화 기법 (Quincunx Sampling Method for Performance Improvement of 2D High-Density Wavelet Transformation)

  • 영상처리에서 quincunx 격자를 사용하는 기법은 대표적인 비분리의 표본화 기법이다. 이 방법은 기존의 이차원 분리가능처리 기법보다 더 많은 다양한 방향성을 가지며 대역적 특성도 우수하다. 고밀도 이산 웨이브렛 변환은 N개의 입력 신호를 M개의 변환 계수들로 확장하는 변환이다(M>N). 이차원 처리에서 이 고밀도 이산 웨이브렛 변환의 이동불변의 장점은 표준 이산 웨이브렛 변환보다 더 우수하다. 그래서 이 변환은 다른 많은 웨이브렛보다 더 유용하게 사용될 수 있지만 표본화율이 높은 단점도 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 quincunx 표본화를 사용하는 고밀도 이산 웨이브렛 변환을 제안하였다. 이 방법은 고밀도 이산 웨이브렛과 비분리 처리의 특징을 유지하고 조합하는 방법이다. 제안된 방법은 영상처리 응용분야에서 좋은 성능을 갖는다.

영상처리 및 어파인변환을 이용한 핀튜브 열교환기 오염율 평가 알고리즘 개발에 관한 연구 (A study on the development of the fin-tube heat exchanger pollution ratio evaluation algorithm using Image Processing and Affine Transformation)

  • Among the various factors that cause the performance decrease of heat exchangers used in many industries, flow path blocking is one of the important and serious factor. In order to solve this problem, proper maintenance and management of the heat exchanger is important and emphasized. In this study, we developed and algorithm that can quantitatively determine and diagnose the normal and blocked areas of fin-tube heat exchanger using pattern analysis, Gaussian Edge Detection, Image Processing and Affine Transformation techniques. The developed algorithms was applied to the actual heat exchanger and the performance was evaluated by comparing with the manual results. From these results, it was proved that the developed algorithm is effective in evaluating the pollution ratio of the fin-tube heat exchanger.

  • This paper presents a hardware for image alignment based on proposed new algorithm which can align a small misaligned document image simply by one transformation with a parallel shifting of pixels. This hardware is simulated with VHDL and estimated to be about 65 ms to align an image made up of 380 by 480 pixels. Also, we will demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed image alignment algorithm in OCR system by comparing its characteristics with those of the existing image rotation algorithms.

  • This paper has been studied a Image watermarking using PN coding operation where frequency band. By using wavelet transformation, This gets high frequency place HH2 where image watermark puts. Also this places that PN code and binary image are operated. And then, this paper has designed image watermarking index process and extract process, watermarked image which are to add noise is able to extract watermark.

  • Image registration is the process for finding the correct geometrical transformation that brings one image in precise spatial correspondence with another image. There are limitations on the visualization of simple overlay between two different modality images because two different modality images have different anatomical information, resolution, and viewpoint. In this paper, various image registration methods and their applications are introduced. With the recent advance of medical imaging device, image registration is used actively in diagnosis support, treatment planning, surgery guidance and monitoring the disease progression.

  • The extraction of lip region is essential to Lip Reading, which is a field of image processing to get some meaningful information by the analysis of lip movement from human face image. Many conventional methods to extract lip region are proposed. One is getting the position of lip by using geometric face structure. The other discriminates lip and skin regions by using color information only. The former is more complex than the latter, however it can analyze black and white image also. The latter is very simple compared to the former, however it is very difficult to discriminate lip and skin regions because of close similarity between these two regions. And also, the accuracy is relatively low compared to the former. Conventional analysis of color coordinate systems are mostly based on specific extraction scheme for lip regions rather than coordinate system itself. In this paper, the method for selection of effective color coordinate system and chromaticity transformation to discriminate these two lip and skin region are proposed.

  • It is quite important to improve the visual acuity of a medical image by suppressing noisy parts and simultaneously keeping the details of signal components to draw the accurate diagnostics. With this aim, we suggest a novel method to generate Rotational Kernel Transformation (RKT) filter mask with applying Bresenham's algorithm and implement an nonlinear filtering algorithm to eliminate noises. As a result, we can find the fact that RKT filter mask can be automatically created and the visual acuity of a corrupted image can be elevated in terms of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) with applying the RKT filter.

웨이브렛 상세 영역 변환을 이용한 임펄스 잡음 제거 (A study on removing the impulse noise using wavelet transformation in detail areas)

  • The impulse noise is very common and typical noise in the digital image. Many methods are invented in order to remove the impulse noise since the development of Digital Image Processing. For example, the median filter has been used for removing the impulse noise. In this paper, we try to remove the impulse noise using wavelet transformation in the wavelet-transformed detail areas. We also compare the algorithm with median filter with the visual and numerical methods. The result using the algorithm in this paper was much better than the median filter in both removing the noise and keeping the edges. The proposed algorithm needs more calculating time but has more advantages than the median filter has.

언샤프 마스킹과 감마 변환을 이용한 패치 기반의 다중 노출 영상 융합 (Patch based Multi-Exposure Image Fusion using Unsharp Masking and Gamma Transformation)

  • 본 논문에서는 신호 구조에 가중치 맵으로써 Laplacian을 이용한 언샤프 마스킹과 평균 밝기에 가중치 맵으로써 영상의 평균 밝기를 이용한 감마 변환 알고리듬을 제안하고자 한다. 패치를 기반으로 한 기존의 가중치 맵은 신호 구조 및 평균 밝기 영역에서 영상 내 밝기 값이 한쪽으로 치우쳐 세부 정보가 손실되는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 패치 단위의 언샤프 마스킹을 이용하여 세부정보를 향상시켰고, 전역적 및 지역적 영상의 평균 밝기 값을 이용하여 감마 변환된 값을 선형 결합한 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리듬은 영상 내 윤곽선과 같은 세부 정보를 보존시키고 빛의 밝기 조절을 통해 주관적 화질을 향상시켰다. 실험 결과를 통해 기존 알고리듬에 비해 제안한 알고리듬이 우수한 성능을 나타내는 것을 확인하였다.
