  • Until today, the personal information of subjects has been centralized in many companies or institutions. However, in recent days, the paradigm has gradually changed in the direction that subjects control their personal information and persue their self-sovereignty. Globally, individual data sovereignty is strengthened by the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR) and the US California Consumer Privacy Act(CCPA). In Korea, a few alliances consist of various companies are creating technology research and service application cases for decentralized ID service model. In this paper, the current decentralized ID service model and its limitations are studied, and a improved decentralized ID service model that can solve them is proposed. The proposed model has a function of securely storing decentralized ID to the third party and a linkage function that can be interoperated even if different decentralized ID services are generated. In addition, a more secure and convenient model by identifying the security threats of the proposed model and deriving the security requirements, is proposed. It is expected that the decentralized ID technology will be applied not only to the proof of people but also to the device ID authentication management of the IoT in the future.

  • Domestic industries are facing the open era as a result of signing the Korea-U.S. FTA with no exception to the financial industry. The FFA between two countries is expected to produce pros and cons for domestic financial industry. Therefore, it is very important to minimize the shock caused by opening our financial market and to adopt the advanced financial tools actively. Signing the Korea-U.S. FTA and enforcing the Integration Law of Capital Market are leading a big crisis to the Savings Banks which have been shrinking under the dramatically changing domestic financial environment since the financial crisis. To cope with financial globalization, Korean Savings Banks are demanded to build up their concrete identity and reposition their status. This is related to shaping the long-term position of domestic financial industry. Therefore, the Savings Banks must take the growth strategy for their survival, and it is an inescapable choice. Several options are available: big scale operation and diversification of business functions, reinforcement of local-focused mediating function of funds, establishment of strategic alliance with other financial firms, reinforcement of risk management system and core competence, nourishment and employment of professional manpower, and active deregulation and policy support. When the Savings Banks are refurbished as an independent local bank performing the central role of local finance, the bright future can be their destiny under the enormously changing global financial environment. Also, two more conditions need to be satisfied: to establish horizontal networks among local banks directed by cooperative Korea Federation of Savings Banks to reverse the weak scale position, and to satisfy their own peculiar niche market with internal countermeasure to face global financial networks.

  • Federated authentication is a user authentication and authorization infrastructure that spans multiple security domains. Many overseas Web applications have been adopting SAML-based federated authentication. However, in Korea, it is difficult to apply the authentication because of the high market share of a specific Web (application) server, which is hard to use open-source SAML software and the high adoption of Java-based standard framework which is not easy to integrate with SAML library. This paper proposes the SAML4J, which is developed in order to have Web applications easily and safely integrated with the Java-based framework. SAML4J has a developer-friendly advantage of using a session storage independent of the framework and processing Web SSO flows through simple API. We evaluate the functionality, performance, and security of the SAML4J to demonstrate the high feasibility of it.

  • While the current world wide network offers an incredibly rich base of information, it causes network management problem because users should have many independent IDs and passwords for accessing different sewers located in many places. In order to solve this problem users have employed single circle of trust(COT) ID management system, but it is still not sufficient for clearing the problem because the coming ubiquitous network computing environment will be integrated and complex networks combined with wired and wireless network devices. The purpose of this paper is to describe the employment and evaluation of federated ID interoperability method for solving the problem. The use of the proposed model can be a solution for solving network management problem in the age of mobile computing environment as well as wired network computing environment.

  • Although the officially confirmed incidence of the acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS) has remained low thus far in Korea, the progression of the pandemic has been rapid, concerned about an eventual increase in transmission. Until a vaccine or cure is found, public information and education remain an important weapon against AIDS. For the year 2000, the current WHO projection is that there will be a cumulative total of 40 million HIV infections in man, woman and children, of which more than 90% will be in the developing countries. The incerased mortality among adults and children has raised concerns that AIDS may become so devastaing as to reverse positive population growth rates and wipe out entire population. In order to plan for the rising incidence of patient with AIDS, an assessment of AIDS-related cognition and behavior, attitude of the recognized high-risk groups is necessary. Considering that undergraduates have sexuality active and more oriented toward sexual concerns than other ages. Adolescents today are more sexually involved than in the past: The media, including films, music, and television, reinforce sexual concerns by preseating images of highly sexual adolescents. Incidence of both petting and sexual intercourse in higher and occurs at earlier ages, they are important reservoir of AIDS infection. Hence, it has become important to emymerats and describe the knowledge, attitude and behavior of them, I want.. This information will eventually guide the direction of change in public policies and education programs to meet the challenges of AIDS. The objective of this study were to identity Knowledge, Attitude, Experience of Sex and AIDS in Korea. The data were collected by survey at Korean Federation for AIDS Affairs, INC. and J university, K junior college. After October in 1993, surveyed with 507 student during their's college days in Seoul. The questionnaire was designed to provide information on sex and AIDS-related knowledge and attitudes and experience. AIDS-related knowledge was measured by using 26 questions on mode of transmission and AIDS-related attitudes were measured by 7 questions, AIDS-related experience was measured by 5 questions. There were the main dependent variables in our study, In conclusion, students during their university day need to develop AIDS-preventive education programs. Clearly, the many AIDS-prevention educational effort need to be guided by well trained health agents. Financial supports from all sectors (i.e., public and private) of our society are required to achieve that end. Further researches on AIDS-related Knowledge and Attitude and behaviors of undergraduates are needed for the development of comprehensive AIDS prevention programs.

  • While there are a few ways of giving meanings to the term, "Altai" ranging from a language family to a national residing around the Altai Mountains in Russian Federation, and to the people speaking the language or the whole area where they live, there have been controversial debates whether it is a meaningful categorization. This paper argues that the basic cause lying beneath the controversies is the underdevelopment of the subject that identifies itself as a representative of the whole area where the Altaic language family is spoken. It might be true, as some Korean and Russian scholars insist, that what deserves to be called Altaic culture (or civilization) has provided a common culture and mutual interactions with the people. However, the Altaic people failed to constitute themselves as a meaningful modern group, that is a nation, and they did not fully develop national consciousness, As a result, although their way of life may be regarded as an origin of various cultures across North-East Asia, Altaic culture is not sufficient to give a momentum to claim for cultural initiative in the region. This comes at least partly from the reconfiguration of ethnic identity through a Soviet type of modernization and its geopolitical situation surrounded by super-powers such as China and Russia, as well as belated import of religions such as Buddhism and Christianity. From a wide perspective, the trouble about delimiting an area is not unique in Altai, but universally found in anywhere, as far as area studies are concerned. The delimitation of an area is not a natural outcome of physical environment but an artificial production of how cultural-political relationships have been distributed. Therefore, while the case of Alai has its own specificities, its implications that a national or regional boundary in area studies should not be taken for granted may be applied to other areas.
