  • In order for the corporation to get a good image from the customers it should consider several variables, but especially important are corproate ethics and customer satisfaction through quality improvement. Standard multivariate data analysis can be applied to find out the importance of customer satisfaction and corporate ethics as influence factors in the corporate competitive strategy. When applying this Methodology, multivariate normal distributions density function and the identical covariance between groups assumptions have to be satisfied. By using the evaluation result from a small number of specialists in an attempt to decide on the strategical factors that will create a better company image than its competitor, if it chooses to use statistical discriminant analysis method, it would be difficult to satisfy the two assumptions mentioned above. This thesis introduces discriminant analysis method that uses LP/GP effectively which is applicable to this particular situation.

  • In this paper, we concentrate on the mask design problem for optical micro-lithography. The pre-distorted mask is obtained by minimizing the error between the designed output image and the projected output image. We use the particle swarm optimization(PSO) and fuzzy system to insure that the resulting images are identical to the desired image. Our method has good performance for the iteration number by an experiment.

  • The Hough transform has been used as a tool for line detection. The main idea of the Hough transform is to transform each pixel in the image individually into the parameter domain. In this way, the Hough transform converts a difficult global detection problem in the image domain into a more easily solved local peak detection problem in the parameter domain. In this paper, we show that the discrete Hough transform is identical to the discrete Radon transform. Thus, we can use the generalized Radon transform to handle more general parameterized curve types.

심벌마크의 단순성과 이미지의 상관관계에 대한 연구 (A study on the interrelation to simplicity of Symbolmarks & Images)

  • 디자인에 있어서 단순성이 강조되는 것은 가장 간단한 방식으로 가장 많은 내용을 전달하기를 바라기 때문이다. 일반적으로 단순한 형태는 상징성이 뛰어나고, 조형미의 부각이 용이하기 때문에 심벌마크의 형태에 적용된다. 그러나 선전 광고에 힘쓰지 않는 지방자치구나 기업들이 이렇게 단순한 형태의 심벌마크를 도입한다면 경쟁에서 불리해진다. 소비자들은 단순한 형태의 심벌마크를 여러 개 대하다 보면, 각각의 특징을 기억하지 못한다. 오히려 지각의 심리는 심벌마크의 조형적 공통점만을 기억하여 무리(Gruping)지어 버린다. 본 논문에서는 도봉구청과 원주시의 심벌마크를 조사분석 했다. 피험자들은 실험에서 이들 마크를 유사한 이미지를 가진 마크와 구분하지 못했다. 이유는 심벌마크의 단순성이 다른 이미지들과 동일한 것으로 인지하게 했기 때문이다. 먼저 본 심벌마크에 대한 착오, 기억장애, 그리고 누적되는 오차들은 동일한 이미지 쪽으로 향하고 있음을 입증했다. 제시된 이미지와 지각된 이미지는 다르다. 심벌마크가 단순한 형태를 취한다고 해서 지각된 이미지도 단순한 것은 아니다. 디자이너는 경쟁력 있는 심벌마크를 제작하기 위해서 조형심리에 대한 철저한 이해가 필요하다고 본다.

세포 영상 추출을 위한 LVQ_Merge 군집화 알고리즘 (LVQ_Merge Clustering Algorithm for Cell Image Extraction)

  • In this paper, we propose a binarization algorithm using LVQ-Merge clustering method for fast and accurate extraction of cells from cell images. The proposed method clusters pixel data of a given image by using LVQ to remove noise and divides the result into two clusters by applying a hierarchical clustering algorithm to improve the accuracy of binarization. As a result, the execution speed is somewhat slower than that of the conventional LVQ or Otsu algorithm. However, the results of the binarization have very good quality and are almost identical to those judged by the human eye. Especially, the bigger and the more complex the image, the better the binarization quality. This suggests that the proposed method is a useful method for medical image processing field where high-resolution and huge medical images must be processed in real time. In addition, this method is possible to have many clusters instead of two cluster, so it can be used as a method to complement a hierarchical clustering algorithm.

  • The goal of this paper is accuracy improvement of appearance inspection by using image separation average value matching method. The appearance inspection of various electronic products and parts has been executed by the eyesight of human. But inspection by eyesight can't bring about uniform inspection result. Because the appearance inspection result by eyesight of human is changed by condition of physical and spirit of the checker. So machine vision inspection system is currently used to many appearance inspection fields instead of the checker. However the inspection result of machine vision is changed by the illumination of workplace. Therefore we have used a average value matching in this paper for improvement of vision inspection accuracy and could increase inspection accuracy of vision system. In other words, we made an effort for elevation of vision inspection accuracy by making the identical image separation average value of reference image and input image. Also this system has been developed only using PC, CCD Camera and Visual C++ for universal workplace.

Supervised-learning-based algorithm for color image compression

  • A correlation exists between luminance samples and chrominance samples of a color image. It is beneficial to exploit such interchannel redundancy for color image compression. We propose an algorithm that predicts chrominance components Cb and Cr from the luminance component Y. The prediction model is trained by supervised learning with Laplacian-regularized least squares to minimize the total prediction error. Kernel principal component analysis mapping, which reduces computational complexity, is implemented on the same point set at both the encoder and decoder to ensure that predictions are identical at both the ends without signaling extra location information. In addition, chrominance subsampling and entropy coding for model parameters are adopted to further reduce the bit rate. Finally, luminance information and model parameters are stored for image reconstruction. Experimental results show the performance superiority of the proposed algorithm over its predecessor and JPEG, and even over JPEG-XR. The compensation version with the chrominance difference of the proposed algorithm performs close to and even better than JPEG2000 in some cases.

Landast 영상을 이용한 변화탐지 분석 기법 연구 (Analytic Techniques for Change Detection using Landsat)

  • 위성영상을 활용한 변화탐지 기법은 다중시기의 영상을 이용하여 토지의 이용현황에 대한 자연적, 인위적 변화를 효율적으로 탐지할 수 있다. 변화탐지의 경우 위성영상의 보정 방법, 입력데이터 종류, 변화분석 기법에 따라 상이한 결과가 나타난다. 즉, 변화탐지를 위해 동일한 위성과 동일한 영상을 사용하여도 다양한 조건에 따라 다른 결과가 나타나기에 연구 목적에 맞는 적합한 분석기법을 적용해야 한다. 본 연구는 영상의 보정방법에 따른 절대방사보정과 상대방사보정한 위성영상을 기하보정 후 정규식생지수(NDVI)와 주성분분석(PCA)을 하고, 이를 차연산기법(ID:Image Difference)과 비연산기법(IR:Image Rationing)을 이용해 변화탐지 분석을 했다. 그 결과 ID-NDVI의 경우 식생 관련 변화탐지에 매우 우수한 정확도를 나타냈고, ID-PCA는 전 영역에서 90%의 정확도를 보였다. IR-NDVI는 90%의 정확도를 보였으나 전답${\rightarrow}$초지의 경우 70%이하로 나타났고, IR-PCA 역시 전 영역에 대해 우수한 변화탐지능력을 보였다.

COMPARISON OF SUB-SAMPLING ALGORITHM FOR LRIT IMAGE GENERATION

  • The COMS provides the LRIT/HRIT services to users. The COMS LRIT/HRIT broadcast service should satisfy the 15 minutes timeliness requirement. The requirement is important and critical enough to impact overall performance of the LHGS. HRIT image data is acquired from INRSM output receiving but LRIT image data is generated by sub-sampling HRIT image data in the LHGS. Specially, since LRIT is acquired from sub-sampled HRIT image data, LRIT processing spent more time. Besides, some of data loss for LRIT occurs since LRIT is compressed by lossy JPEG. Therefore, algorithm with the fastest processing speed and simplicity to be implemented should be selected to satisfy the requirement. Investigated sub-sampling algorithm for the LHGS were nearest neighbour algorithm, bilinear algorithm and bicubic algorithm. Nearest neighbour algorithm is selected for COMS LHGS considering the speed, simplicity and anti-aliasing corresponding to the guideline of user (KMA: Korea Meteorological Administration) to maintain the most cloud itself information in a view of meteorology. But the nearest neighbour algorithm is known as the worst performance. Therefore, it is studied in this paper that the selection of nearest neighbour algorithm for the LHGS is reasonable. First of all, characteristic of 3 sub-sampling algorithms is studied and compared. Then, several sub-sampling algorithm were applied to MTSAT-1R image data corresponding to COMS HRIT. Also, resized image was acquired from sub-sampled image with the identical sub-sampling algorithms applied to sub-sampling from HRIT to LRIT. And the difference between original image and resized image is compared. Besides, PSNR and MSE are calculated for each algorithm. This paper shows that it is appropriate to select nearest neighbour algorithm for COMS LHGS since sub-sampled image by nearest neighbour algorithm is little difference with that of other algorithms in quality performance from PSNR.

DEVELOPMENT OF AN ORTHOGONAL DOUBLE-IMAGE PROCESSING ALGORITHM TO MEASURE BUBBLE VOLUME IN A TWO-PHASE FLOW

  • In this paper, an algorithm to reconstruct two orthogonal images into a three-dimensional image is developed in order to measure the bubble size and volume in a two-phase boiling flow. The central-active contour model originally proposed by P. $Szczypi\'{n}ski$ and P. Strumillo is modified to reduce the dependence on the initial reference point and to increase the contour stability. The modified model is then applied to the algorithm to extract the object boundary. This improved central contour model could be applied to obscure objects using a variable threshold value. The extracted boundaries from each image are merged into a three-dimensional image through the developed algorithm. It is shown that the object reconstructed using the developed algorithm is very similar or identical to the real object. Various values such as volume and surface area are calculated for the reconstructed images and the developed algorithm is qualitatively verified using real images from rubber clay experiments and quantitatively verified by simulation using imaginary images. Finally, the developed algorithm is applied to measure the size and volume of vapor bubbles condensing in a subcooled boiling flow.
