Migration of Web Services in a Mobile Environment (모바일 환경에서 웹 서비스의 이동)

  • Recently, mobile devices enabled with Web services are being considered as equal participants of the Web services environment. The frequent mobility of devices and the intermittent disconnection of wireless network require migrating or replicating Web services onto adjacent devices appropriately. This paper proposes an efficient method for migrating and replicating Web services among mobile devices through code splitting. Specifically, the proposed method split the source code of a Web service into sub-codes based on users' preference to its constituent operations. The sub-code with higher preference is migrated earlier than others. The proposed method also replicates a Web service to other devices to enhance its performance by considering context information such as network traffic or the parameter size of its operations.

  • This paper discussed plurality in urban governance in Nigeria and its implication on delivery of urban environmental services, with a focus on water supply, sanitation and solid waste disposal. Conceptually, it explained urban governance as the sum total of the ways of achieving an inclusive city and expressed the urban governance system of Nigeria based the legal framework set for them. The paper explored the environmental implications of urban governance in Nigeria. It concluded that urban governance has several implications on delivery of urban environmental services in Nigeria. The dualism in urban governance is a factor contributing towards inefficient delivery of environmental services such as water supply, sanitation and solid waste management in Nigeria. The paper recommended, among others, a constitutional reform that will guarantee efficient urban governance and delivery of environmental services in Nigeria.

Adaptive Logical Link Control for Wireless Internet Service in ITS (ITS에서의 인터넷 서비스를 위한 무선 링크 제어 방안)

  • DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communications), which is a radio mobile communication protocol in ITS, is suited for traffic related information services. But in WAC(Wide-Area wireless communications), we could consider a conventional communication infrastructure in the case of supporting other applications besides ITS. Especially considering the current the trends to introduce wireless internet service into the mobile communication network, wireless internet service in ITS system is valuable. Although ITS LLC(Logical Link Control) protocols recommended by Europe and Japan are effective for traffic related services, it is not suitable for services related with geographical information, image or internet. That is because the data traffic characteristics is changed according to service types. Therefore we suggest a logical link control algorithm effective for traffic information related services as well as internet web service, and analyze its performance. As a result of numerical analysis and simulation, proposed algorithm shows larger performance improvements. For traffic information related services, the performance of DSRC LLC recommended by Europe and Japan is the same as that of proposed LLC protocol. However, for wireless internet web service, the performance of proposed protocol is much better than that of LLC protocol used in Europe and Japan.

  • Currently, ITS (Intelligent Transport System) system is supporting a variety of services to be enhanced traffic's efficiency and driver's safety as developing of information communications and network technology. High data transfer communications such as Wibro, HSPA and WAVE are used for providing ITS services, but there are some differences from specification and performance applied. So, users who are employing the communication systems to transfer data whatever they want to have been suffering from use. In this paper, it is proposed that user can use various high data transfer communication systems wherever environments they are in using adaptation of system change. Also, it is implemented performance of system which uses alternate communication scheme in mobile terminal based on embedded platform.

  • A high brand reputation of a airline means the airline is preferred by passengers because of its unique services being even better than others. This is why airline's specialized services are important in that those services would create a new brand value and build up the airline's brand image, being enable to have competitive advantage over other airlines, to provide satisfied services, to have a mutual trust between passengers and the airline and to create customer's loyalty. A-Airline have been trying to give passengers a joy of flight by providing its customized and specialized cabin services out of airlnes' stereo-typed services.Therefore this paper will find out how their satisfaction of the cabin services have a positive impact on customer loyalty through brand image, brand reputation, brand identity and brand attraction. Those services would not only contribute to upgrade A-airline's corporate image but show the way to which the cabin service is heading also.

  • Since the competition of higher education is more and more critical, the improvement of educational services is importantly considered. Despite the current situations, there are few studies addressing the relationships between education service quality and its outcomes. As educational service quality plays a key role in improving student satisfaction, universities provides a high level of educational services for students and reinforce their competitiveness through student satisfaction. This research investigates the relationships among IT service quality, business education service quality, trust, student satisfaction and student loyalty. In so doing, the current study establishes a theoretical model to test the proposed relationships. The results further suggest that the indirect effect of the IT service quality and the business education service quality enhances its impact of student satisfaction, trust, student loyalty. Finally, the authors draw conclusions and further research directions.

  • Recently in the Mongolian wireless marketplace, many E-commerce companies have been making considerable investments in the technological development of M-commerce, taking competitive advantage of new business possibilities offered by Internet-based wireless technologies. In the Mongolian wireless marketplace, this new mobile environment opens the door for new and exciting market opportunities in mobile services and applications. In the near future, these companies will be looking toward M-commerce services as a supplemental source of revenue in the mobile marketplace. This paper examines the roles of M-commerce in the consumers' in order to promote the consumers' loyalty in the booming M-commerce. This paper contains theory that focuses on the basic concepts of the M-commerce environment, its wireless network technologies, and its applications infrastructure. Upon searching for references to assist us in establishing a market hypothesis, we discovered that few comprehensive studies on consumer perspective and behavior related to M-commerce services actually exist in the literature. In the area of M-commerce, many companies neglect the consumer perspective, concentrating only on technological factors only when formulating their market strategies. And, due to technological blindness, many companies were not able to succeed in end-user E-commerce services. Given that fact, this paper formulates a consumer-centric research model. In order to prove the research model, we chose the survey method which allows for the collection of large amounts of data from a sizeable population in a highly economical way. Through the survey, this paper defines consumer's attitudes towards M-commerce services by identifying potential Business-to-Commerce(B2C) applications and its primary target groups in terms of gender and age, and by investigating whether consumers recognize the value proposition of M-commerce applications and services. As shown in the data analysis and results, this research concludes that M-commerce development in Mongolia is still at its infancy, and that the implementation of M-commerce depends not only on technological progress, but also on consumer attitudes and their willingness to adopt M-commerce services. As well, other complex cross-cultural factors-socially, economically, culturally, et cetera-enter strongly into the equation.

Effects of Experiential Value on Continuous Use Intention for On-Demand Services (온디맨드(On-Demand) 서비스의 지속사용의도에 대한 경험가치 효과)

  • On-Demand services have emerged as one of the core business strategies for delivering new experiential values by providing customized services in different user-needs nowadays. Based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework, this paper focuses on the factors of environmental stimulation and emotional states of the demand-side that induce continuous intention of use from the On-Demand services. The study defines 'Informativeness', 'Fulfillment', 'Trust', and 'Convenience' as the properties of the On-Demand services and considers 'Playfulness', 'Customer Return on Investment (CROI)', and 'Service Excellence' as the aspects of the experiential values. The research shows that 'Fulfillment', 'Trust' and 'Convenience' affected the experiential value in 'Kakao Taxi (On-Demand transportation service)' while 'Informativeness', 'Fulfillment', 'Trust of platform', and 'Convenience' are represented as the related factors to the experiential value in 'Baedal Minjok (On-Demand food delivery service)'. The experiential value factors, 'CROI' and 'Service Excellence', are shown directly related to the continuous intention of use in both services. A partial mediation relationship is, furthermore, observed between the aspects of 'CROI' and 'Service Excellence' in Kakao Taxi and its 'Convenience' and 'Continuous intention of use.' In Baedal Minjok, a partial mediation relationship is found between the 'CROI' with its aspects of 'Trust of the platform', 'Convenience', and 'Continuous intention of use' as well. The results of this study may contribute a comprehensive understanding of the purpose of On-Demand services and its needs from the demand-side thus can be helpful for the supply-side.

  • When physical distribution cost can be correctly measured, its management can also be efficient. Thus the primary objective of the study is to develop systems for measuring correctly physical distribution cost. The systems have two aspects : the One is the consumption of the resourses(materials, labor service, the other services), the other is the creation of physical distribution services(transportation, storage, cargo, packing, distribution conversion, management). By measuring the cost through the systems, the commoditization of the physical distribution services is possible and measurement of the cost and revenue can also be reasonable ,which makes its management efficient.

Performance evaluation of WAVE communication systems under a high-speed driving condition in a highway (고속주행 환경에서의 WAVE 통신장치 성능분석)

  • In recent years, a variety of ITS services are available such as driving information, road conditions, V2X messages as well as navigation and traffic jams notification. The development of ITS services is accelerating by V2X communication technologies for high-speed vehicles. In this paper, WAVE communication devices based on the IEEE802.11p standard is introduced as a solution of V2X communication technologies. The H/W and S/W structures of the WAVE communication device and the characteristics of RF/antenna are described. The performance is evaluated in the test road by measuring throughput, PER and latency. The implemented WAVE communication device has 6~7 Mbps throughput with 10% PER at 1km coverage. The packet latency is less than 3ms for the whole test road. It is shown that the implemented WAVE technology is satisfactory to provide ITS services and Internet video-streaming services.
