Bidirectional Dynamic Programming Based Disparity Estimation and its application to the Intermediate View Reconstruction of 3D Images (양방향 다이나믹 프로그래밍 기반 변이 추정을 이용한 3차원 영상의 중간 시점 영상 합성)

  • 본 논문에서는 3차원 영상 시스템에서 기준이 되는 좌우 영상이 있을 때 임의의 중간 시점 영상 합성 기법을 제안하였다. 제안한 기법은 양방향 다이나믹 프로그래밍 기반 변이 추정 과정과, 이를 기반으로 양방향 변이 정합과정에 의해 가려진 영역을 추출하는 과정, 그리고 완성된 변이 맵을 바탕으로 중간 시점 영상을 생성하는 과정으로 구성된다. 이중 변이 추정 과정에 제안된 양방향 다이나믹 프로그래밍 기법은, 일반적인 다이나믹 프로그래밍이 가진 장점을 살리면서, 영상 특성을 고려한 코스트 값의 사용 및 양방향 코스트 행렬 생성 방법으로 발생될 수 있는 오류를 최소화함으로써 가려진 영역을 보다 정확하게 구분해 낼 수 있었다. 이후 이러한 과정에서 생성된 변이 맵에 대해 적절한 후처리 과정으로 가려진 영역을 판별하고, 이를 기반으로 한 중간 영상 생성에서 모호한 영역을 고려하여 보다 정확하고 안정적인 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • Acknowledging mathematics education as a research field and its relation to different domains such as mathematics, educational sciences, psychology, sociology, and history, two paradigmatic issues of theoretical research and classroom practice are focused on to synthesize the different domains in mathematics education. Six sub-categories in the field of mathematics education are proposed to have a better understanding of their role and interdependence.

  • This paper presents the Stone Influence, the Influence Point, and the Influence Area on computer Go. The Stone Influence is defined using the distance between stone and empty point. The Influence Point is defined using threshold value on the Stone Influence. The Influence Area is defined using lump of the Influence Points and its Core. In experiments using the Jeongseok data, the author obtained the threshold of Influence Points. The proposed method was verified by experiments where it was success fully applied to the influence in game of Go.

  • Park, Seo and Kim (12) developed the input domain-based SRGM, which was able to quantitatively assess the reliability of a software system during the testing and operational phases. They assumed perfect debugging during testing and debugging phase. To make this input domain-based SRGM more realistic, this assumption should be relaxed. In this paper we generalize the input domain-based SRGM under imperfect debugging. Then its statistical characteristics are investigated.

  • Front-projection type displays make it difficult to apply traditional skin color detection for human hand because the projected beam not only reaches to the screen but also to the user's hand. This paper solves this problem by modeling the distortion between original image and its final camera input. Our approach improves hand detection rate by modeling of interference effect among color channels and of intra-frame intensity and also by introducing adaptive threshold for color difference in skin region.

  • This study focused on the geographical concepts development and its zone of proximal development(ZPD) through the collaborative interaction. Among the conclusions are: 1) Students who have higher cognitive structure represented the Creator Seoul Metropolitan Area(GSMA) as a geographical concepts, not as a spontaneous concepts. The concepts is developed from concrete facts, subordinate element concept to basic element concept hierarchically. The most difficult concept that the learner should internalize was represented as the basic element concept. 2) Although ZPD of GSMA is individualized, it could be divided into 9 types. The ZPD was developed differently according to the qualitative differences how much more and how systematically represented the geographical concepts. The characteristics shown in this development procedure was that there was a quality change based on quantity extensive.

Noise Removal and Edge Detection of Image by Image Structure Understanding (화상 구조 파악에 의한 화상의 잡음 제거 및 경계선 추출)

  • This paper proposes not only the thresholding problem which has been one of the major problems in the pre-existing edge detection method but also the removal of blurring effect occurred at the edge regions due to the smoothing process. The structure of a given image is assigned as one of the three predefined image structure classes by evaluating its toll membership value to each reference structure class:The structure of an image belongs to the structure class which has the least cost value with the image. Upon the structure class assigned, noise removal and edge extraction precesses are performed, e.g., the smoothing algorithm is applied to the image if its structure belongs to the pure noise region class; edge extraction while removing the noise is performed simultaneously if the edge structure class. The proposed method shows that preventing the blurring effect can be usually seen in the edge images and extracting the edges with no using thresholding value by the experiments.

  • The most important work for early detection of liver cancer and decision of its characteristic and location is good segmentation of a liver region from other abdominal organs. This paper proposes a fully automatic liver segmentation algorithm based on the abdominal morphology characteristic as an easy and efficient method. Multi-modal threshold as pre-processing is peformed and a spine is segmented for finding morphological coordinates of an abdomen. Then the liver region is extracted using C-class maximum a posteriori (MAP) decision and morphological filtering. In order to estimate results of the automatic segmented liver region, area error rate (AER) and correlation coefficients of rotational binary region projection matching (RBRPM) are utilized. Experimental results showed automatic liver segmentation obtained by the proposed algorithm provided strong similarity to manual liver segmentation.

Fast Motion Estimation Algorithm for H.264 Video Coding Standard (H.264 동영상 표준 부호화 방식을 위한 고속 움직임 추정 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose fast motion estimation algorithm. Local statistics of a motion vector is highly correlated to motion vectors of its neighboring blocks. According to the property, block-based motion search range is adaptively determined in order to reduce unnecessary search points. Based on the determined search range, motion vector is obtained by variable step search motion estimation. Experimental results show that comparing to Full search motion estimation, the motion searching points of proposed algorithm is reduced as much as $98\%$. Moreover, PSNR and Bit Rate are almost same to Full search method.

A Lip Detection Algorithm Using Color Clustering (색상 군집화를 이용한 입술탐지 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a robust lip detection algorithm using color clustering. At first, we adopt AdaBoost algorithm to extract facial region and convert facial region into Lab color space. Because a and b components in Lab color space are known as that they could well express lip color and its complementary color, we use a and b component as the features for color clustering. The nearest neighbour clustering algorithm is applied to separate the skin region from the facial region and K-Means color clustering is applied to extract lip-candidate region. Then geometric characteristics are used to extract final lip region. The proposed algorithm can detect lip region robustly which has been shown by experimental results.
