  • This paper deals with the precision analysis of GPS measurement referred to ITRF96 which is the new reference frame announced in 1996, and show the data processing results of short and long baselines with different methods. In this paper, we minimized the observation error of GPS using precise ephemerides which has provided by Jet Propulsion Laboratory and represents the comparative analysis results of baseline measurements using GIPSY-OASIS II software. Here, we also discussed the accuracy of data processing methods.

  • This paper deals with the data processing method relative to reference frames through the calculation of absolute coordinates of permanent GPS site which was established at Sungkyunkwan University. In this paper. we computed the ITRF97 coordinates with high precision (0.0001 ppm) from GPS data analysis. Also, we derived the accurate coordinates referred to WGS84 and Korean Geodetic Datum (KGD) using transformation parameters provided. ITRF97 coordinates were computed by using the GIPSY-OASIS II (GOA II) software and the algorithms for determining the position developed Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). The coordinates referred to WGS84 and KGD were derived from the transformation parameters provided by International Earth Rotation Service (IERS) and National Geography Institute (NGI). The parameters determined by NGI were calculated from the 2000 project of the establishment of geocentric coordinate system. We tested its availability through the comparison of the coordinates obtained from local GPS data analysis.

  • We processed seven years data of 142 IGS(International GNSS Service) stations were processed, which have been selected with an optimal network algorithm, to realize terrestrial reference system. To verify the result, a comparison with the ITRF2005 was given both in positions and velocities with transformation parameters estimation. The transformation parameters are within 4.3 mm in length, while the RMS(root mean square) difference of positions and velocities are 6.7 mm and 1.3 mm/yr in horizontal and 13.3 mm and 2.4 mm/yr in vertical, respectively, which represent good coincidences with ITRF2005. This research would help developing our own geodetic reference frame and may be applied for the global earth observations such as the global tectonics. A further improved TRF would be expected by applying various data processing strategies and with extension of data in number and observation period.

  • In this study, we analyzed that the geomagnetic storms in the end of October 2003 influenced a positioning of GPS permanent stations. The data that observed in total 23 permanent GPS stations are used, and did a precisely analysis every hour with GIPSY-OASIS II software to produced ITRF2000 coordinates of each stations. After that we analyzed and compared the ITRF2000 coordinates calculated every hour with public ITRF2000 results of each stations. As a result of this study, the increases of positioning errors showed well when geomagnetic storms happened and the maximum error reached about 0.80m.

  • A rapidly developed satellite technology is used in comprehensive fields such as spatial data aquisition and applications. Especially a GPS positioning is expected to reinvigorate at the national reference system changes to ITRF (International Terrain Reference Frame). Currently the National Geographic Information Institute (NGII) issues a triangulation point coordinate by separating old and new coordinates and in the year of 2007 it will be scheduled to be changed ITRF. The triangulation point coordinate in Cheju area causes some problems due to the difference original observation and re-observation. Thus in this study a GPS observation is conducted after re-organizing geodetic network based on 1st and 2nd order triangulation in order to check the current triangulation points in Cheju area. After the GPS observation data analysis, stable points were extracted, proposed a geodetic network and its application.

  • The national geodetic reference frame of Korea was adopted in 2003, which is referenced to ITRF (International Terrestrial Reference Frame) 2000 at the epoch of January 1, 2002. For precise positioning based on the satellites, it should be thoroughly maintained to the newest global reference frame. Other than plate tectonic motion, there are significant events or changes such as earthquakes, antenna replacement, PSD (Post-Seismic Deformation), seasonal variation etc. We processed three years of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) data(60 NGII CORS stations, 51 IGS core stations) to produce daily solutions minimally constrained to ITRF. From the time series of daily solutions, the sites with unexpected discontinuity were identified to set up an event(mostly antenna replacement). The combined solution with minimum constraints was estimated along with the velocity, the offsets, and the periodic signals. The residuals show that the surrounding environment also affects the time series to a certain degree, thus it should be improved eventually. The transformation parameters to ITRF2014 were calculated with stability and consistency, which means the national geodetic reference frame is properly aligned to the global reference frame.

  • In this paper, the historical coordinates data of origin SUWON are reviewed and determination procedures are explained with the three dimensional geocentric coordinates of ITRF94 that is determined using VLBI observations. Also three translation parameters are calculated on the origin point. The national transformation parameters between the Korean geodetic system and Korean Terrestrial Reference Frame 1994(KTRF94) system, are determined using least square methods with weigted parameter constraints. The results of transformation show that one set of parameters are applicable to fixing of a position for GPS relative positioning processing and to adjusting of a network for three dimensional geocentric coordinates(KTRF94) computing.

  • GPS measurements from Feb. 2002 through Mar. 2004 were used to estimate recent crustal movement across the Lai Chau - Dien Bien fault system in North-West Vietnam. Four GPS campaign data were processed and combined with appropriate constraints using automatic GAMIT/GLOBK run in order to estimate ITRF2000 coordinates, local horizontal velocity and extensive/compressive strain rates. ITRF2000 velocities are consistent with east-southeastward movement of Sundaland i.e. Indochina. Local velocities show not much left-lateral strike-slip of the fault system and derived strain rates are insignificant from zero at $95\%$ confidence.

  • The map coordinate systems of Korea, based on the Bessel 1841 ellipsoid with Tokyo Datum, applied in digital mapping. So, the new geocentric system have some coordinate differences compared to GRS80 ellipsoid with the International Terrestrial Reference Frame(ITRF). Therefore, map transition procedures are needed to establish for the new coordinate system. In this paper, characteristics and tendencies about coordinate differences and map tiles systems are investigated and modules for the map coordinate transformations between two systems are developed and simulated.
