Development of Competency Model for Beginning Teachers in Home Economics (가정과 초임교사 역량모델 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a 'Competency Model for Beginning Teachers in Home Economics'. The study was conducted in a total of 4 stages(preparation of competency model development stage, materialization stage, validity verification stage, and competency diagnosis stage), and the results of the study were as follows. First, the first tentative competency model was derived through the literature study, and the secondary tentative competency model was derived through an FGI. The validity of the secondary tentative competency model was verified by 15 experts and the competency groups, competencies, and competency definitions from this study were found to have content validity. Second, the competency diagnosis was conducted for a total of 222 beginning teachers in Home Economics. As a result, a total of 7 competencies were derived as the 'top priority competencies' that are of first priority for beginner teachers in Home Economics. The final competency model which was developed by reflecting the research results, was composed of 4 competency groups and 22 competencies and 22 competency definitions. The competencies of each competency group were presented in the order that beginning teachers thought were important. This study is meaningful in that it used an FGI and competency diagnosis to identify beginning teachers' perceptions and demands of the competencies and reflect the results on the competency model development.

Research on Creative Confluence Competency of Occupational Therapy Students (작업치료(학)과 대학생의 창의융합역량에 대한 조사연구)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study is to investigate creative confluence competency of occupational therapy students and to understand the correlations between five sub-elements of creative confluence competency. Methods : The subjects of this study were 132 occupational therapy students. The data collection period was from February 12, 2020, to February 28, 2020. A Google questionnaire was used to collect data through SNS; 16 data with insufficient responses were excluded, and 116 data were finally analyzed. The collected data was processed using SPSS 21.0. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results : The mean scores for creative confluence competency of the occupational therapy students is as follows: Creative ability 3.12±.58, creative personality 3.29±.55, creative leadership 3.50±.53, convergent thinking 3.23±.57, confluent value creation 3.04±.59. Occupational therapy students' creative leadership competence was highest, and confluent value creation competence was lowest. The average score of creative confluence competency of occupational therapy students was 3.12±.58, and the Cronbach' α value of the creative confluence competency was .97, which was very reliable. There was a positive correlation between the five sub-elements of creative confluence competency. Conclusion : The data in this study are related to efforts to improve occupational therapy students' creative confluence competency and prepare for convergence education. And It is expected to be used as basic data for the development of occupational therapist competency to prepare for the 4th industrial revolution.

  • South Korean Government confirmed the creation of competency-centered society as a key national issue and announced development and utilization plan of NCS(National Competency Standards) On May 21, 2013. As a part of the government's plans, they had been developed NCS about 833 jobs by 2014. But Big Data related job, as an emerging job, cannot be seen as a reliable form of job yet. As, at the major industrialized countries and the domestic, education and job competency models of knowledge and skills to take advantage of various types of Big Data have coming, it is a situation that is certainly not settled and more or less in confusion. In this study, for the purpose to present the Big Data Competency reference model for companies and organizations to effectively leverage Big Data, we have presented this reference model and summarized competency elements units such as 20 knowledges and 15 skills of Big Data competency.

Enhancement for competencies of health education specialists to prevent chronic diseases in public health organizations (공공부문 보건의료조직의 만성질환 예방사업에서 요구하는 필요능력과 보건교육사의 직무 강화 방안)

  • Objectives: This study performed to enhance the competency of health education specialist on population-based program to prevent chronic disease in public health organizations. In addition, it will provide the basic data to enhance specialized competency for health education specialist. Method: The current operating strategy and demanded competency related to chronic disease programs were analyzed by reviewing the Korean Health Plan 2020, the guideline of integrated health promotion programs, and the job description of health education specialist. Results: Preventive programs for chronic disease provide with healthy lifestyle programs in integrated health promotion service. First, health education specialist should learn to professional knowledge on health risk factor and chronic disease. Second, they should cultivate the integrated competency to manage operations on obesity, hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer prevention programs. Third, they get strengthened the-job training to implement health education, public relations, campaigns, media advocacy, and utilization of multi-media. Conclusion: It should implement the preventive programs for chronic disease in various health promotion services through coordination with multiple sectors. To identify of the job in preventive program for that, it would be required empowerment of health education specialists on disease prevention science and practical life skill.

  • The purpose of this paper is to compare SWECOM and Information & Communication Engineering NCS to explore how to improve current NCS. First, it would be helpful to use NCS competency unit and competency unit element as categorization criteria and then to provide levels and roles into performance criteria and KSA. Second, developing common lower level competency unit would decrease the redundancy of KSA and make it clear for users. Third, providing other kinds of skills along with technical skills such as management skill would be useful for users.

  • The computer system validation consulting industry is growing as domestic GMP companies' overseas exports or advancements increase, and computer system validation has been mandatory in Korea since the 2010s, but domestic CSV consulting companies are small in size and have a short history, revealing many shortcomings in terms of service quality and customer satisfaction when conducting consulting. Research related to consulting has been mainly focused on management consulting and IT consulting, and research related to computer system validation is very insufficient. This study confirmed the effect of consultant competency and service quality on consulting performance, customer satisfaction, and intention to renew contract when performing computer system validation through empirical research on food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and medical device companies, which are representative companies in the GMP industry. As a result, it was confirmed that consultant competency and service quality had a significant effect on consulting performance, customer satisfaction, and intention to renew contract. In addition, it was confirmed that the reputation and expertise of consulting companies had a moderating effect on the relationship between consultant competency and consulting performance.

Curriculum Development for Agribusiness Management Consulting Competency of Agricultural Educator (농업인교육자의 농기업경영컨설팅능력 개발을 위한 교육과정 개발)

  • This study was aimed to find the agribusiness management consulting competency for agricultural educator, to find the teaching method and evaluation criteria for each competency group, and to recommend the subjects, contents of each subject, instruction method and evaluation criteria of each subject. Through the literature review, web searching of agricultural consulting company and 17 experts members' reviews as delphi methods, agribusiness management consulting competency for agricultural educator was found of 64 items in 90 items. After educability reviews, it was selected of 45 item in 64 items for necessary and educable competency. And it was selected to good teaching method and evaluation criteria in each competency groups. Finally, eight subjects, major contents of each subject, instructional method and evaluation criteria in each subject were recommended for agribusiness management competency, and some recommendations were presented.

Developing a Competency-based Continuing Education Program for Library and Information Professions based on the National Competency Standards (NCS) (역량기반 사서계속교육을 위한 핵심역량지표 및 콘텐츠개발 - NCS적용 타당성 분석 및 보완방안 연구 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a competency-based continuing professional development (CPD) model using the National Competency Standards (NCS)-Library & Information Management. This study specifically examined various competency standards for librarians developed in and out of the country, conducted a survey research and focused group interviews to obtain professional librarians' needs for continuing education and their opinions on the NCS for library professions. It analyzed the contents of the NCS elements and mapped with elements in the five other competency standards for library and information professions. It also scrutinized the current training programs at the National Library of Korea in order to identify their strengths and weaknesses. The results of the study informed the areas to enhance the current NCS by identifying underdeveloped competencies and identified the course contents that should be developed with priorities. The study also developed a modified National Competency Standards for Continuing Professional Development (NCS-CPD). Continuing education institutions can utilize this scheme as a useful guideline to develop balanced continuing professional development curriculums for the practitioners working in various library and information centers.

Model Development of Convergence Curriculum by Specialization Area Linkage between Local Universities (지역대학 간 특화영역을 연계한 대학연합-융합전공 모형개발)

  • The university bachelor's system is based on autonomy, but due to the rigid academic structure, it is not appropriate to respond to changes in social demand. Recently, universities are pursuing diversification of their bachelor's system. With the introduction of various majors (linkage major, convergence major, autonomic major, and self-design major), efforts are being made to nurture convergence talent based on mutual linkages between major and departments. This study introduces the design and operation process of 'Global Creative Convergence Major' which the four universities of Chungcheong region promoted as a union. In particular, it derives the key elements of each step and presents the operating model and implications based on the main features. Convergence major operation model constitutes educational system (talent award, educational goal, competency factor, curriculum) through linkage between specialization areas of universities. The competency elements contain creative competence, convergence competency, problem solving competency, and global competency.

Impact of Positive Thinking and Interpersonal Relationship on Communication Competency in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 긍정적 사고와 대인관계가 의사소통능력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to identify the factors affecting the communication competency in nursing students. Method: The subjects of this study were 171 nursing students from two universities located in G and P cities. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, and Multiple Regression Analysis. Results: As a result of multiple regression analysis, the significant predictors of communication competency of nursing students were interpersonal relationships(β=.404, p<.001) and positive thinking(β=.274, p=.014). Communication competency was explained 47.9% of variance in interpersonal relationship and positive thinking. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that interpersonal relationship and positive thinking in nursing students were the influential factor on communication competency. Therefore, the results of this study suggest that it is necessary to find ways to improve interpersonal relationship and positive thinking in order to improve communication competency of nursing students, and it is considered to be useful as basic data for developing intervention programs to improve communication competency.
