Purpose: This study was to investigate actual conflicts between newly graduated nurses and preceptors during preceptorship period and the preceptor's core competency related to their conflicts in order to prepare an educational program to develop a preceptor's core competency. Method: A total of 100 questionnaire sheets were collected for data analysis from a valid pair of 94 newly graduated nurses and 94 preceptors. The questionnaire consisted of the preceptor's core competency evaluation tool, and experiences of the conflicts between newly graduated nurses and preceptors. Data was analyzed using SPSS 12.0. Result: Preceptors faced more conflicts than newly graduated nurses, but the former went through conflicts for a shorter time. The conflict-experiencing newly graduated nurses evaluated their preceptor's core competency more excellently than the other's except 'role model'. The conflict-experiencing preceptors evaluated 'learning plan implementation' competency more excellently than the other's. Conclusion: It is advisable to have educational programs and opportunities for increasing preceptor's core competency.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate influencing factors on nursing competency of nurses in long-term care hospitals. Methods: A descriptive research design was used with a convenience sample of 150 nurses. Data were collected from Feb 15 to Mar 8, 2017 using self-reported questionnaires and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN 18.0 program. Results: The mean scores of self-efficacy, organizational citizenship behavior and nursing competency were 3.84 out of 5, 3.77 out of 5 and 3.80 out of 5, respectively. Nursing competency was positively correlated with self-efficacy (r=.63, p<.001) and organizational citizenship behavior (r=.64, p<.001). Factors influencing on nursing competency were self-efficacy (${\beta}=.38$, p<.001), organizational citizenship behavior (${\beta}=.37$, p<.001) and Clinical career(${\beta}=.14$, p=.011), which explained 51% of the variance. Conclusion: Based on the finding of this study, it is necessary to develop education and intervention programs in order to increase the nursing competency for nurses in long-term care hospitals.
As interest in vocational competency development projects increases, support is increasing. In this study, in order to study ways to improve participation in vocational competency development training, related factors are selected and the main factors influencing them are derived. The main factors were influencing factors were identified and ways to improve participation rate of vocational competency development were studied. Variables were selected through prior research, and data were collected and analyzed through in-depth group interviews. Based on factor analysis and reliability analysis, as a result of confirming the factors that influence the plan for improving participation in vocational competency development training by applying the backward stage selection (condition) method of logistic regression analysis, the case of respect for minorities in the 7-point Likert scale The closer to 7 was, the higher the probability of being classified as having never participated, and the other factors except minority respect, Likert scale closer to 7 indicates higher probability of bening classified as having never participated, except for the minority respect factor. Therefore, it was confirmed that lowering the scale of the factor of respect for minority, which is job satisfaction, and increasing the factors of individual characteristics such as annual salary and organizational commitment, training system for job satisfaction, and quality assurance have effects on improving participation rates in vocational competency development training.
This study was conducted on 130 nursing college students who had experience taking simulation learning to confirm the relationship between simulation learning and nursing competency. Participant's satisfaction and confidence were positively associated with overall nursing competency and patient safety. The teaching method and design of the facilitator were also positively correlated with overall nursing competency, and participants' age and simulation design was a predictive factor explaining 21.5% of the nursing competency. In applying simulation to develop nursing competency, it is necessary to consider the satisfaction and confidence of participants and to systematically diversify the teaching method and design.
