PROPERTIES ON q-DIFFERENCE RICCATI EQUATION

  • In this paper, we investigate a certain type of q-difference Riccati equation in the complex plane. We prove that q-difference Riccati equation possesses a one parameter family of meromorphic solutions if it has three distinct meromorphic solutions. Furthermore, we find that all meromorphic solutions of q-difference Riccati equation and corresponding second order linear q-difference equation can be expressed by q-gamma function if this q-difference Riccati equation admits two distinct rational solutions and $q{\in}{\mathbb{C}}$ such that 0 < ${\mid}q{\mid}$ < 1. The growth and value distribution of differences of meromorphic solutions of q-difference Riccati equation are also treated.

공간고조파법을 이용한 축 자속 영구자석 회전기기의 준(準)-3D 특성 해석 (Quasi-3D analysis of Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Rotating Machines using Space Harmonic Methods)

  • This paper deals with characteristic analysis of axial flux permanent magnet (AFPM) machines with axially magnetized PM rotor using quasi-3-D analysis modeling. On the basis of magnetic vector potential and a two-dimensional (2-D) polar-coordinate system, the magnetic field solutions due to various PM rotors are obtained. In particular, 3-D problem, that is, the reduction of magnetic fields near outer and inner radius of the PM is solved by introducing a special function for radial position. And then, the analytical solutions for back-emf and torque are also derived from magnetic field solutions. The predictions are shown in good agreement with those obtained from 3-D finite element analyses (FEA). Finally, it can be judged that analytical solutions for electromagnetic quantities presented in this paper are very useful for the AFPM machines in terms of following items : initial design, sensitivity analysis with design parameters, and estimation of control parameters.

Characteristics of solutions in softening plasticity and path criterion

  • Characteristics of solutions of softening plasticity are discussed in this article. The localized and non-localized solutions are obtained for a three-bar truss and their stability is evaluated with the aid of the second-order work. Beyond the bifurcation point, the single stable loading path splits into several post-bifurcation paths and the second-order work exhibits several competing minima. Among the multiple post-bifurcation equilibrium states, the localized solutions correspond to the minimum points of the second-order work, while the non-localized solutions correspond to the saddles and local maximum points. To determine the real post-bifurcation path, it is proposed that the structure should follow the path corresponding to the absolute minimum point of the second-order work. The proposal is further proved equivalent to Bazant's path criterion derived on a thermodynamics basis.

MOTION VECTOR DETECTION ALGORITHM USING THE STEEPEST DESCENT METHOD EFFECTIVE FOR AVOIDING LOCAL SOLUTIONS

  • This paper presents a new algorithm that includes a mechanism to avoid local solutions in a motion vector detection method that uses the steepest descent method. Two different implementations of the algorithm are demonstrated using two major search methods for tree structures, depth first search and breadth first search. Furthermore, it is shown that by avoiding local solutions, both of these implementations are able to obtain smaller prediction errors compared to conventional motion vector detection methods using the steepest descent method, and are able to perform motion vector detection within an arbitrary upper limit on the number of computations. The effects that differences in the search order have on the effectiveness of avoiding local solutions are also presented.

  • The effects of insecticide dimilin including the technical grade(tg) and wettable power(wp-25), inhibiting the synthesis of chitin in the cuticle of insect larvae, and herbicides alachlor and atrazine on the development of shrimp caridina denticulata denticulata were investigated in various concentrations. This species is abundant in the freshwater such as river and pond. The shrimp larvae were reared at dimilin solutions(tg and wp 2), alachlor solutions, and atrazin solutions. the concentrations of dimiline were 0, 1, 5, 10 and 25 ppb dimilin solutions, and those of alachlor and atrazin were 0, 1, 5, 10 and 25ppm, respectively.mortality was high at 10 ppb when the larvae were exposed to dimilin and at 25ppm in the case of alachlor and atranzine solutions. If lethal concentration is defined as a concentration in which less than 10% of larvae to the post larval stage from hatching it can be concluded that the lethal concentration of dimilin is 5ppb, and that of alachlor and atrazin is 25 ppm.

  • It is advisable to use irrigation solutions which have strong antibacterial effect and weak cytotoxic effect on treating root infections. Streptococci are ones of the most frequently isolated microorganisms in infected root canals. The antibacterial effect of ten irrigation solutions were investigated on S. mutans (19449), S. sanguis. )10556) and 4 streptococci isolated from saliva of healthy persons. These streptococci were exposured to irrigation solutions during 10 sec, 30 sec,. 1 min, 3 min, 5 min, 10 min, 30 min and 2hrs respectively. Four irrigation solutions which showed strong antibacterial activity were diluted to 1 : 1 to 1 : 10,000. Then they were subcultured on blood agar plate an observed after 1 day. 5.25% NaOC1 had the strongest antibacterial effect. 30% urea and normal saline showed no antibacterial effect. 50 % citric acid and 3% $H_2O_2$ showed relatively weak antibacterial effect. 15 % EDTA had very weak antibacterial effect.

Approximating Coupled Solutions of Coupled PBVPs of Non-linear First Order Ordinary Differential Equations

  • The present paper proposes a new monotone iteration method for existence as well as approximation of the coupled solutions for a coupled periodic boundary value problem of first order ordinary nonlinear differential equations. A new hybrid coupled fixed point theorem involving the Dhage iteration principle is proved in a partially ordered normed linear space and applied to the coupled periodic boundary value problems for proving the main existence and approximation results of this paper. An algorithm for the coupled solutions is developed and it is shown that the sequences of successive approximations defined in a certain way converge monotonically to the coupled solutions of the related differential equations under some suitable mixed hybrid conditions. A numerical example is also indicated to illustrate the abstract theory developed in the paper.

The Effect of Urea on Volumetric and Viscometric Properties of Aqueous Solutions of Poly(ethylene oxide)

  • The density and the viscosity of aqueous PEO solutions are observed with the several concentrations of PEO at 20 ℃. The effects of urea on them are also observed. The apparent and the partial specific volumes of PEO are calculated from the density data, which result that the polymer-polymer interaction is dominating in the binary aqueous PEO solutions, while the polymer-solvent interaction is dominating in the ternary aqueous urea-PEO solutions. It is explained by the urea induced breakage of the structured water originated from the hydrophobic interactions and the binding of the urea to the PEO chain. The concentration dependence of relative viscosity and the density dependence of fluidity is also discussed with the concept of the polymersolvent and the polymer-polymer interactions of aqueous urea-PEO solutions.

웹 환경에서의 분산형 개인정보보호를 위한 솔루션 (Solution for Distributed User's Privacy Under Web Environment)

  • 개인정보란 살아있는 개인에 관한 정보로 성명, 주민등록번호 및 영상을 통하여 개인이 알아볼 수 있는 정보를 말한다. 기존의 방법인 하드웨어 필터를 이용한 하드웨어 형태가 아닌 웹 분산형 방식으로 웹 브라우저와 웹 서버 간의 상호 동작 방식으로 개인정보를 점검할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 사용자 단에서 게시판에 작성된 글은 웹 브라우저내의 자바스크립트로 첨부된 문서를 웹 서비스단에서 문서처리기로 개인정보의 누출을 해결할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다.

후보순위 기반 타부 서치를 이용한 제약 조건을 갖는 작업 순서결정 문제 풀이 (Solving the Constrained Job Sequencing Problem using Candidate Order based Tabu Search)

  • Purpose This paper aims to develop a novel tabu search algorithm for solving the sequencing problems with precedence constraints. Due to constraints, the traditional meta heuristic methods can generate infeasible solutions during search procedure, which must be carefully dealt with. On the contrary, the candidate order based tabu search (COTS) is based on a novel neighborhood structure that guarantees the feasibility of solutions, and can dealt with a wide range of sequencing problems in flexible manner. Design/methodology/approach Candidate order scheme is a strategy for constructing a feasible sequence by iteratively appending an item at a time, and it has been successfully applied to genetic algorithm. The primary benefit of the candidate order scheme is that it can effectively deal with the additional constraints of sequencing problems and always generates the feasible solutions. In this paper, the candidate order scheme is used to design the neighborhood structure, tabu list and diversification operation of tabu search. Findings The COTS has been applied to the single machine job sequencing problems, and we can see that COTS can find the good solutions whether additional constraints exist or not. Especially, the experiment results reveal that the COTS is a promising approach for solving the sequencing problems with precedence constraints. In addition, the operations of COTS are intuitive and easy to understand, and it is expected that this paper will provide useful insights into the sequencing problems to the practitioners.
