SI 프로젝트 관리자의 리더십 역량과 프로젝트 참여자 개인역량이 프로젝트 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Influence of SI Project Manager's Leadership Competencies and Project Participants' Individual Competencies on Project Performance)

  • In order to improve project performance by analyzing the effects of the project manager's leadership competency and the individual competency of the project participants on the project performance, this study examines the effect. In this study, a research model and hypothesis were established to understand the causal relationship between leadership competency, individual competency, and project performance, and a survey was conducted based on this. Overall, it was found that the leadership competency of the project manager and the individual competency of the project participants had a positive effect on the project management performance, the project leadership competency had a positive effect on the completion performance, and the project participant individual competency had a negative effect on the completion performance. As a result of analyzing the effect of the project manager's core competency on the project management performance according to the amount or period of the project type, which is the moderating variable, it was found that there was no moderating effect on the management performance. For the success of the SI project, it is most important to understand the project characteristics well and select a PM suitable for the characteristics, and methods for nurturing excellent project managers should be further studied. In addition, it is expected that it will be possible to identify the effect of project manager leadership competency and participant competency on project performance based on sophisticated research design for more competent PM selection.

통합교과로서의 게임 프로젝트 교육과정 운영방안 탐구 (A Study of Game Project Curriculum for Integrated Subject)

  • 본 연구는 이질적인 속성을 가진 학문분야들을 통합하여 하나의 교육과정으로 운영하는 프로젝트 중심 교육과정에 대한 운영 방안을 제안하고 있다. 통합교과의 의미는 게임 현장에서처럼 게임 기획, 프로그램, 그래픽과 같은 이질적인 분야의 학습자들을 대상으로 실제적인 하나의 결과물을 만들어낼 수 있도록 하는 것을 의미한다. 본 연구에서 제시되는 프로젝트 중심의 교육과정에 대한 운영방안은 국내에서 2008년도부터 A 교육기관에서 진행해온 게임 프로젝트 교육과정을 토대로 실증 및 분석을 하였다. 본 연구의 결과로는 통합교과를 기반으로 하는 프로젝트 교육과정에 대한 운영 방안의 기준을 제시하고 있으며, 크게 두 가지 형태로 내용을 분류하여 구성하고 있다. 첫 번째는 학생들이 교육과정을 통해 "책임감" 및 "협업 능력"과 같이 학습되어지는 내용들에 대한 부분들을 정리하고 있으며, 두 번째로는 성공적인 프로젝트 교육과정을 운영하기 위해 단계별로 진행되는 팀 구성, 프로젝트 계획, 팀 운영 및 협업, 중간 및 기말 발표, 그리고 평가 부분에 대한 운영 방법론을 제시하고 있다. 이러한 제안된 운영방안이 통합 교과로서의 프로젝트 교육과정을 운영하는데 있어서 하나의 밑거름 및 가이드라인이 될 것으로 기대한다.

IT 프로젝트 팀에 있어서 내외부 사회적 자본과 조직 분위기에 관한 연구 (Exploring the Relationship between Social Capital and Team Climate in IT Project Teams)

  • IT project teams are composed of experts from various domains with different backgrounds, such as business and technologies. Thus, enhancing knowledge sharing and increasing team social capital are critical for the success of the project. This study examines the relationship among the team social capital, team climate and team performance. A research model and hypotheses are developed from literature review and empirically validated. The research model consists of team social capital, team climate and team performance. Specifically, team social capital, as antecedents, wasconceptualized asinternal and external differentiated by team boundary, and team climate is conceptualized as innovative climate and supportive climate. Using measures adopted from previous studies, 166 data points were collected to test the research model and related hypotheses. PLS data analysis indicated that internal and external social capitalhave positive effect on innovative climate while internal social capital has a positive effect on supportive team climate. The innovative and supportive climate has significant effect on the team performance. Based on the results, we proposed several team management skills for IT project managers. Theoretical constributions are discussed at the end with limitations and further studies.

ESTIMATING COSTS DURING THE INITIAL STAGE OF CONCEPTUAL PLANNING FOR PUBLIC ROAD PROJECTS: CASE-BASED REASONING APPROACH

  • Estimating project costs during the early stage of conceptual planning is very important when deciding whether to approve the project and allocate an appropriate budget. However, due to greater uncertainties involved in a project, it is challenging to estimate costs during this initial stage within a reasonable tolerance. This paper attempts to develop a cost-estimate model for public road projects under these circumstances and limitations. In the conceptual planning stage of a road project, there is only limited information for cost estimation, for example, such input data as total length of the route, origin and destination, number of lanes, general geographic characteristics of the route, and other basic attributes. This implies that the model should individuate suitable but restricted information without considering detailed features such as quantity of earthwork and a detailed route of a given condition. With these limited facts, this paper applies a case-based reasoning (CBR) method to solve a new problem by deriving similar past problems, which in turn is used to estimate the cost of a given project based on best-fitted previous cases. To develop a CBR cost-estimate model, the authors classified 8 representative variables, including project type, the number of lanes, total length, road design grades, etc. Then, we developed the CBR model, primarily by using 180 actual cases of public road projects, procured over the last decade. With the CBR model, it was found that the degree of error in estimation can be reasonably reduced, to below approximately 30% compared to the final costs estimated upon the completion of detailed design.

  • The purpose of this study is to design and application of term project model for Game Math in flipped learning environment. In the term project self study model, students interacts with multi-instruction materials and multi-tutors on flipped learning. We develop a case for game update term project and implement it to a real Game Math classroom. As a result, we show the positive learning experiences focused on effects of technology and human relation through survey.

정보시스템 감리의 충실성이 고객 만족도와 프로젝트 성과에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effect of the Information System Audit Fidelity on the Customer Satisfaction and Project Performance)

  • This research is to suggest the factor which is effecting on the information system audit fidelity in the perspective of audit procurer, to develop the measure to evaluate it, to investigate the audit performance and project performance for comparison the audit fidelity between the audit teams. As the analysis results, we found that the audit service factors can be divided to the expert knowledge of auditor and the project attributes itself. It means these factors are the major measures for the audit fidelity. In this research, the hypothesis of this study model is verified throughout the factor and corelation analysis, and the structured equation model is applied. Analysis results show that all relations between the factors are significant statistically. The audit service factors has an effect on audit fidelity. Also the information system audit fidelity can be affect on the project performance, audit performance and customer satisfaction. So, in conclusion, we need to judge closely the audit service factors affecting the audit fidelity for the enhancement of the project performance, audit performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Determining the total duration for a construction project is an integral part of project management in the construction industry. This is to ensure the project and all its associated activities can be carried out and completed within the time frame stipulated. There are several commonly used scheduling methods and techniques in project management, some of which involves manual calculation while others involve computer software. This paper looks into the various time determination methods, extracting out their differences and similarities. It also seeks to draw out the problems when determining time for projects, especially those encountered of case studies. Based on the results from the case studies, there were delays on certain projects even though time determination had been carried out rigorously prior to the commencement of the projects. This paper seeks to develop a time determination model, which incorporates risk management techniques into the calculations in order to improve the method for time estimation to minimize the chances of project delay.

  • Concurrent Engineering is one of the information-based product development approach. Yet, the method of organizing the project team for the concurrent engineering is not clear. This study focuses on deriving a method to organize an information-based project team. The model consists of 4 layers : IT infrastructure, organization of the information-based project team, operation of the project team, an organization culture. Based on an analysis of new product development case, this study attempts to verify the model and to suggest more effective way of organization design and management for new product development.

  • The advent of Web2.0 has believed to be the solution against many barriers in information sharing, especially wiki. Information sharing and collaboration are realized voluntarily and unselfishly with wiki. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the benefits and challenges of using wiki as a project management method in an IT/IS project. Wiki-based project management could provide project managers and members with expert knowledge collaboration for better project results. In the research model, we used TMS(Transactive Memory System) theory to define the relation of collaboration and performance of project members. Based on a survey among project members, the interactions between wiki characteristics and performance are examined in an IS project environment. Using Smart PLS 2.0, the data was analyzed to define the interactions by the structural equation modeling. From the empirical data, the mediated effect of expert knowledge collaboration is supported. We also derive the implications of wiki-based method. It is expected to bring new possibilities of Project management performance.

Quantification Model for Applying Construction Management Practices in Consideration of Project Characteristic Factors

  • No single project is identical to one another in the construction industry. Furthermore, many construction projects are suffering from tighter budget, shortened schedule and higher client satisfaction level. To overcome these, project managers and engineers are willing to apply various best management practices to their projects. However, it is non-trivial to select the most appropriate practices for their projects. In many cases, it is much more important to find the appropriateness of the management practices than just to use the practices. Although many researchers are focusing on the development of new management practices, there is little research on matching between the circumstances of projects and the developed management practices. The objective of this study is to provide a structured process to suggest the best management practices for individual construction projects by developing a computerized system where an individual project is matched with the most optimal management practices to increase the value of the project. At this stage of writing, the authors have developed a computerized system to effectively find out the best suitable management practices for individual projects. By maximizing the usages of this system, it would facilitate the application of the best management practices in the industry.
